Coastal Kitchen & Raw Bar
Very good meal!!
Beautiful view of the marsh and And the jekyll island bridge. The food was delicious and fresh. The service was impeccable Elizabeth did a wonderful job taking care of us this evening.
It was a birthday; I told them twice NOTHING!!!
Family time. We were seated within 5 minutes of our reservation in requested outdoor seating. This area is beautiful!! Excellent service and food - our group had a variety of foods from the brunch menu, and everyone was happy with their choices.
What an amazing dining experience! Found this place online and decided to give it a try based on reviews and it did not disappoint. The food was simply divine! Had the scallops and shrimp with ginger spiked mashed butternut squash. I took one bite and thought this is heavenly!! I had to eat very slowly so that the dish could last longer...I can't wait ro visit again! Oh the service was outstanding and marina view a bonus!
Great food and Service. Nice views We will be back.
Accommodated our date night perfectly
Great fish n chips and server. Wine selection on point.
Love this place! 😊
Great experience...food was great as always, and service was equally impressive. Every time we are in town we make a point to eat at Costal Kitchen
Great food with beautiful scenery! I would definitely go back!
Out food and service were absolutely fabulous. We sat outside for the beautiful view and breeze. My only suggestion is that the tables and chairs outside could certainly use some refurbishing. Duct tape does t cut it.
My husband and I ate outside at Coastal Kitchen this past Saturday. Our server, wine and food were great. We shared an arugula salad with fried goat cheese, which was delicious. He had a dozen raw oysters for his entree and I had the vegetable pasta. Th pasta was homemade and was full of fresh summer squash, zucchini, red and green peppers, tomatoes and a little onion and topped with Parmesan cheese. We will be visiting again soon and often as we just bought a condo adjacent to Coastal Kitchen.
Great fish selection, prepared perfectly. Beautiful views at sunset.
Food was excellent. At the marina so plenty to look at while eating. Overall good experience.
My lunch guest stood me up but my experience was still wonderful. When eating alone everything matters just a little more. Trevor took great care of me and my Coastal Gimlet and champagne poached salmon were amazing. Thanks for being consistently awesome. I take all first time SSI visitors here! Debbie Britt
The food was amazing and the servicer (waiter) was very professional. I will be spreading the news! Awesome chefs!
Amazing service and our waiter was great. Food is over priced and not that great.
We usually have a great experience when eating here but this time was a poor experience. We had reservations on Thursday evening and they were running more than half an hour behind and the restaurant was packed. No one was wearing masks and it didn’t look like any precautions were being taken to socially distance tables. We decided to skip this and went some where else.
Tasty good service good location! Omelette and cocktails especially good. We enjoyed our meal.
Very nice...will return
Wonderful service. Great setting and Food. Oysters were great.
We had the Arugula salad, dirty oysters, the fried shrimp and the seafood pasta. Everything was excellent! We’ve been staying at The Cloister and the food here was hands down better than anything we’ve had at the hotel. Highly recommend!
Wonderful server, nice outdoor table with view of marina, very tasty blackened redfish with sautéed onions, peppers and tiny shrimp!! Overall very nice dinner!
My boyfriend and I both had great dinners — Pleasantly surprised, Everything was way better than average!! Food was fantastic, Great service, and the ambience was very pleasant and fun!!
My table had the swordfish, fried shrimp, redfish, and picayune pasta. All were outstanding.
The brunch is very good and the Bloody Marys were delicious.
The food is consistently good and the setting is hard to beat.
We were very happy with our meals and Susanna did a fabulous job! Thank you for re-opening!
Awesome! Great atmosphere and service. Food and drinks were amazing! We sat outside so the view at night looking over the dock was epic. We had the fried pickles along with the peel and eat shrimp for appetizers. You can’t go wrong with either I would suggest both. I went with the Springer chicken with green beans and mashed potatoes, best chicken ever. I can say with no doubt Coastal Kitchen is a place you must go to if in the St.Simmons area.
We come here every time we visit St. Simon's Island. We've always had impeccable service. However, this time we didn't. We made reservations for outside at 8:00 pm. We arrived thirty minutes early and thankfully we were able to go ahead and sit (we were just gonna enjoy a drink until then). We were sat at the edge of the porch towards the front door which defeated the purpose of requesting outside. We like to see the water and boats. Then it took forever to place our order which was only an appetizer to begin with. Then we received our appetizer within a good amount of time but we finished it and still waiter forever AGAIN to place or meal order. After placing our meal order the waiter came back ten minutes later to tell us that they had JUST sold out of what I requested. (Had we not had to wait forever to order I would've been able to have it). Then the light at our table kept flickering on and off so we couldn't see. We had to move to the far corner table EVEN FURTHER away. We were now sitting in front of the restaurant. The food and drinks were amazing as always so that was good. We AGAIN had to wait a long time to pay for our meal. I hope by our next trip to the Island it will be better or we may wait a few visits before returning. After spending $130 on dinner for two I don't want to go through that again.
My favorite restaurant in SSI. Seafood is always delicious. Ratatouille dish is excellent! Never been disappointed.
Did a great Mothers Day brunch, while at the same time putting safety first
The food is very good and creative. We all had fish and the entrees were cooked to perfection. Our server was very personable. Lovely evening.
The food was excellent! We went at 3:00 for a late lunch/early supper on a Sunday afternoon. We were not rushed at all. The appetizers, food, dessert came out at great intervals. We were there about an hour & a half and they were not busy at all. I can see where it may get crowded during the regular dinner hour. The views of the marina were incredible. We had the gator tail appetizer for my son (a little pricey for the amount but delicious- although he didn’t want to share!) and an order of the lobster nachos for the table. Outstanding! And could certainly see ordering those as my main meal another time! Husband had the blackened redfish and he enjoyed it, lobster ravioli was great. Fish and chips for my son were a tad greasy - but tasty. Our friends had the pork tenderloin and said it was great. Creme brûlée & key lime pie were excellent desserts - and the potions were a good size for these stuffed diners!
The setting is lovely. It’s too bad the food is not up to the view. Our arugula salad, described as local arugula with fried goat cheese, came with tons of pimentos (?), walnuts and capers and 2 halved cocktail tomatoes. While a few capers and walnuts might have added to the flavor, the pimentos added nothing but color and were out of place. My husband’s salad plate was greasy around the edges of the salad, which was not appetizing. My husband got the scallop and shrimp dish. The squash mash was good as were the green beans. The shrimp was good but the scallops weren’t cooked very well and tasted slightly old. I ordered the shrimp and grits, at the suggestion of our server. When the plate arrived, it was frankly a bit of a mess. It looked like the food had been haphazardly slopped down on the plate. Sauce was all over the place. As I began eating, I crunched down on something hard. There were bits of clam shell in my food (at least 3 pieces). I asked my server if there were clams in the dish and was told ‘no’. But clams are on the same station in the kitchen! Yikes. The tomato sauce is described as a smoked tomato sauce, but there was no underlying smokiness. It tasted like pretty basic tomato sauce. Our waiter was great and apologetic, and didnt charge us for my entree. But I’m not even his good service is enough to make me go back.
We love this restaurant and come at least once a month. The food and service are excellent but it has become very pricey. We would suggest you need to have a house wine choice at $7 per glass, some lower priced entrees to get the per person ticket
Price down by $5-$7 and we think the result would be more frequent visits. How about some 6-7pm specials? Drink specials? Appetizer specials for early diners? Just a thought. Keep up the great food and great service.
Food is full of flavors and the portions are a nice size.
Excellent food and plenty of it, at a moderate price.
Love the atmosphere & view!! Great meals & service as well! 3 of us had the special & actually had the last 3 available & the portions were great & we ate it all!!! We’ve been before & we’ll be back!!
