We had a very disappointing visit this past Friday. It was our second time at Coabana. The first time, a couple weeks prior, was very positive - good service, great food, and drinks. Everything about this second visit was the opposite. I had made a reservation for dinner at a regular table and they initially sat us by the firepit, then gave us attitude when we requested a regular table. It took forever to order drinks and even longer to get the drinks. The drinks were not good at all and several errors were made in making and serving them. The food came out lukewarm. I can't figure out if the problem was with the bar, the kitchen or the waitstaff. Regardless I don't think we'll be returning anytime soon. Too bad because it seemed like Coabana would be a great addition to Louisville.

Sadly disappointed. We dined on 9/8 for dinner and was seated out on the front patio. The restaurant had a great vibe and our waitress was very nice. Unfortunately the rest of the experience did not live up to the first impressions. After 3+ months of operations, it seemed like they were still operating their service and food prep like it was day one. It took 30 minutes to get our drink order to our table, after having to explain to our waitress that the drink we requested had a pitcher price next to it, so should be able to be served in a pitcher, and one item had to be retrieved from the bar by a member of our party, because our waitress forgot it and didn't come back with it. For apps, we ordered the shrimp ceviche, plantains with pork and rock fish bites. Unfortunately the food also took forever to come out. When the food did arrive it was brought to the table by one of the chef's who said that they were short staffed and he had to run food out. I can understand being short staffed but the chef should not be running the food to tables, they should be cooking the food so it can get to the customers faster. The waitresses could have ran the food or even the manager whom we never saw. The food was also not worth the wait. The ceviche was basically cold shrimp soup, not much substance to it beside the shrimp which were whole. Which made it very hard to eat on the chips they provided and share. We ended up cutting up the shrimp to make it easier to eat. The plantains were hard and tough and tasted like they had been sitting out. It is pretty sad when a Cuban style restaurant can't successfully deliver a plantain dish on a consistent basis. Overall we had high hopes but were sadly let down and will not be going back.

Service was absolutely terrible. Took forever to order (after forty-five minutes we asked a random server if we could order. By the time the *chef* brought us our food, we were out of drinks, but our server never came to check on us. We never did get a second drink and after waiting, finally asked for our check. Waited again, and finally asked the bartender if we could pay our check with him. More than two hours from start to finish, only one drink, and although the food was good, we will never go back here.

We loved every dish that we ordered. Pulled pork, ceviche, and the pulled beef & chicken. Delicious in every way.

Great food! The tapas were absolutely delicious! I also had the sangria to drink, which was fruity and packed a nice punch. Looking forward to going again!

The phone was not working the night our group went which is why we used OpenTable for the reservation. The restaurant did not seem to know about the OpenTable reservation. They also did not realize their phone was not working. They have a great outdoor area but the night we went was chilly and raining. They can accomodate a group, we had 8 in our party. They were out of a few items on the menu but offered up alternatives. The food we ordered was delicious. The waitress was attentive and efficient. The cocktails were appropriate for the cuisine and delicious.
