As we are a very small restaurant, we will need your table back after 1 hour and 30 minutes at lunch and 1 hour 45 minutes in the evening, which will be ample time to enjoy what we offer. Should you require a little longer or it’s a special occasion, may we cheekily suggest Portland (!) just around the corner…
Please note: for bookings of more than 8 guests, we offer a 3 course reduced menu. This is £26 at lunchtime or £45 at dinner.
We offer three different seating options: our tables, stools at our window counter or - weather permitting - outdoor tables.
Please be aware: Outdoor tables are available only if the weather permits. We may not have an alternative table available inside in some instances.
Need to book at 7:30 PM?Other great restaurants with availability.
It was the last day of employment for one of my team, lunch at Clipstone was just the right note to finish on. The set menu had just enough choice and variety to mean you don’t spend lots of time being indecisive about your choice of food. All dishes had a surprise. I particularly liked the dessert with sorrel ice.
Great, rustic but still finessed food. Slight wrinkle with initial order but quickly ironed out and service was very good. Keeping up the QCH tradition.
First time to Clipstone and will definitely return. Beautiful tasting and presented food, interesting wine list and great service.
Outstanding service, food, and ambiance. Superb! Highly recommend.
Clipstone offers Michelin star quality without pretence (or the stars!). The focus is on the clients enjoyment. A compact menu with a wide variety of fresh flavours and ideas to choose. The chefs create wonderful tasteful and inventive plates with a careful selection of well priced wines to match. The custard tart is worth the trip by itself. All presented by a well informed, helpful and polite staff. Don't miss this quiet Fitzrovian corner.
Delicious well presented food - everything I’ve ever had at Clipstone has always been good and the staff are attentive and charming.
Halibut and Sirloin were exceptional! Service was enjoyably friendly and discreet.
Impressively young chefs!
Very intriguing wine list. A nice touch with water in glass bottles, both still and sparkling on the table.
Atmosphere was casually elegant. Restrooms were clean, tasteful.
You simply know right away it’s going to be an excellent culinary experience which you will remember for a long time and makes you want to return for more.
Delicious food, attentive but discreet service, and a very convivial but not noisy atmosphere. Been coming for years. It's still excellent.
Delightful meal. Exceptional food and service. Will definitely be returning!
Great service, great staff, nice location! Only complaint: It‘very loud inside, you almost have to scream at each other to have a coversation.
The restaurant that never gets old.
Thank you to Pan and Freddie who looked after some very dear friends (and me!) for a birthday celebration.
Special shout-out to the chefs at Clipstone who are meticulous and supremely clever. Don’t miss the mussels or the bream if you are there over the coming weeks.
See you next time Clipstone! It was a pleasure and a treat.
Amazing food at a very reasonable price.
Very quick and very testy . My wife and me were charmed by service, food and in general by the place.
Terrific food, could've eaten everything on the menu, and of course a superb wine list.
Excellent food and location
Too many tables in the space, hence a feeling of being crammed in
Too few inexpensive wine options
Excellent in every respect apart from incredibly high noise levels
Much enjoyed! Will come again. Staff very friendly; delicious food!
Great food and wine, really good service, loved the choices and ambiance
Top place. Food is delicious, refined but unfussy. Great value. Love the relaxed but design led decor too. This is the second time I’ve been, and it’s reliably great.
Delicious food and very friendly service. Will certainly recommend the place
One of the few restaurants that has maintained its value, service and food quality. 100% recommended.
Service welcoming and excellent. Food superb. “Snacks” could replace starters. Menu interesting and seasonal. Tables a bit close to each other and acoustics less than ideal. Well worth a visit and revisit.
One of my favourite spots to eat in London! Great value for money, flavours, originality, simple atmosphere. Fantastic !!
Love this place 💕
Small and simple menu but food was excellent and flavourful
We were really well looked after and the small menu was well crafted and really well executed. We were sat very close to another table, but this aside, we had an amazing evening and will be back.
The food here is exceptional and that coupled with exemplary service makes this a great choice.
Hadn’t been back for more than a year so keen to see if it
lived up to my memories. It did. Shortish menu was full of variety my tempura cod was delicious, chunky, perfectly cooked with a light batter and terrific tartare sauce. Friends’ soup and mussels likewise great they said. We all had the pork loin ..: again, near perfect.
I dropped them a star because even though I like it, the ambience is still corner Italian ... open kitchen, noisy, cheek by jowl. If u like that I urge u to go. It’s fine dining in non-fine-dining surroundings!
Service relaxed but attentive
Nice ambience but tables too close to each other - food is nice but overpriced in my opinion - service is good but too keen on getting you out of there on time even when the place is not full and nobody needs the table
Interesting combinations. Delicious fresh food. Very pleasant service.
Extraordinary food and terrific service. Highly recommended.
This is the umpteenth time I've been and I will keep coming back.
The food is always the star really clever light bites and mains that never disappoint. The wine list is quirky but so is the place, odd uncomfortable chairs and a noisy but bustling feel - but listen that all adds to it's charm. It's in and out so don't expect a long lazy one but do expect great food, lovely people and exceptional attention to detail.
Good service and tasty food. A pleasant lunch at reasonable value.
I had the mussels starter and, unfortunately, developed a severe gastroenteritis which knocked me out for two days. There is always a risk with shellfish but if you're going to serve them you must be assiduous in checking your supplier and the preparation/cooking of the dish.
Excellent meal and superb service
A great experience
We were a small family group who all enjoyed the food and service
My second visit. Had a lovely lunch. Great flavours. The mussel dish was outstanding. Great staff- very friendly.
The small simple menu was absolutely delicious, I couldn’t fault it. The staff were helpful and not over the top, there when you needed them. My only small criticism might be the wooden chairs which could be a little more comfortable but they wouldn’t stop me from returning.
Thanks a lot, the food was amazing.
We will come back very soon
Stunning food, a real adventure in eating Yo never know what you will try and it always is an enriching experience
