   Was told that the Chinese Chicken salad was good, so I was looking forward to enjoying it. Was quite disappointed. The chicken seemed to be unthawed just enough to be at room temperature. There were hardly any slivered almonds and those other crispy things on top. Also, barely enough salad dressing to taste. Very disappointed in the salad. The green beans did not have the strings removed. The string went down the throat and the lady had to grab hold of the string and pull it out of her throat. The string was nearly 4 inches long. The service was slack and could have been better, but the young lady was quite new and still learning. Do I dare try again? Not sure!

   The whole evening reservation was a boondoggle. I made a reservation in advance. I "requested" and outside table in the notes section of the Opentable website. I called Cliffhouse a day before the reservation just to confirm and ask about outside seating. I was advised inside seating and window tables were based on first come, first served basis and could not be reserved. No problem. If there is a wait for an outside table we'll just go to the bar area and chill with a cocktail. We checked in with the host and he walked us to a table, neither window nor outside, so we politely asked if we could wait for one to become available. In a huff, he turned around and took the menus back to his station as if we had offended him or whatever. So we went over the bar side and took a seat. We waited for a waiter/waitress. And waited. And waited... waited more. Waitstaff passing us buy going to a fro servicing the patio area. Not even a boo to us, or a "I'll be right with you" kind of thing. The original host walked buy and we asked him if the bar table get servers or if we needed to go to the bar and order to take back to the table. He was stumped. He had no clue. It was getting busier and noisier quickly. Very chaotic. Sill no acknowledgement from nary a busboy let alone a server. We tried to politely flag down a waitress but none even looked our way, and we were not out of the way in a corner, this was in the main flow of traffic. The staff in general went about their business, all but taking care of the table. Another couple sat at a table next to us, and we watched them go though the same frustrations trying to get at very least a cocktail menu. We figured if we tried to tough it out it would be an uphill battle, so we decided to leave. Off to Pete's at 6608 Folsom-Auburn Rd, Folsom, CA 95630 We were immediately met and greeted and escorted to an outside table without a reservation. Friendly waitress, awesome service and ambiance, good cocktails and good food.

   Had reservations for Mother’s Day dinner and had to leave and go somewhere else after we got there we were told wait would be about 45 minutes for a table and then like an hour and a half for food probably. They said there kitchen had gone down.

   WORST restaurant EVER! When we got there on Mother’s Day, they told us we have to wait for 45 minutes to one hour!! They claimed the kitchen was broke down! But no one even cared to callus ! I’m sure it wasn’t the reason as there were guests who were waiting for one hour already and if it was the true reason then they had enough time to called us and informed us. When we said we will wait in car ( as there was no seats there) They didn’t even cared to ask for our phone number and said one of us must wait there for one hour to be able to have a table! They didn’t have neither care to ask for phone number nor have those buzzers to call us while we were in the car! 2 young girls were there in front who just talked and laughed like there was nothing wrong and ignored there was more than 5 families waiting there for such a long time. Never even heard such a zero manners + service before! So sorry to make reservation for my Mother’s Day in that place! We left there after 30 minutes of waiting after such a low class service and manners! Thanks them to ruined my Mother’s Day dinner!!

   Had a 5:30 reservation and waited for 45 minutes for our table, then waited an hour for drinks and appetizers.  The waitress was great, but the overall hostess and kitchen service was very poor.  Tables were only half full.

   It was Mother's Day, so my expectations were lower than usual. Even with that, it was an awful experience. We arrived 8 minutes early and the host who may have also been the manager greeted us with "You won't be seated until 11:30." There was no "Welcome in" or "Happy Mother's Day". After we were seated, we waited about 10 minutes for our waitress to arrive. She actually was very sweet and upbeat and her personality was the only bright spot of the experience. We placed our orders, with 4 of the 7 of us ordering cheeseburgers. It took 1 hour and 5 minutes for us to get our food. Other tables around us were experiencing the same thing. We also were not checked in on by our waitress during that time. When the food arrived the cheeseburgers were burnt, and overly salted. The other food was not good either. There was no way we were going to send back the food and have to wait another hour for a replacement. We got the bill and left. Awful experience. It is a shame because it is a beautiful location, but the staff and management clearly do not care. We will not be back.

    LOVED their NY streak. Took my bf here for his bday and it was the perfect setting. Wish they did some kind of birthday dessert or something for him but I get it’s not Red Robin lmao

    It was our first time a the Cliff House. I all thought it was kinda funny that there closing time was 8 o’clock with dinner reservations at 7:30. We walked in to a near empty restaurant, no hostess or host. Our party of 4 wanted to sit outside on there beautiful deck but we persuaded to eat inside because of mosquitoes. A lot of tables still left dirty from previous diners. Only 1 waiter on our side of the restaurant who immediately told us,” hope your not in a hurry.” It did take a long time for our food to arrive but it was good. This restaurant inside looked pretty tired, definitely could use some sprucing up. Probably won’t return.

    We had not been to the Cliff House in years but drove by thinking, 'We need to go, why haven't we been in so long?' Well, they did not disappoint! The food was great, the service even better! The restaurant is doing some improvements but that didn't effect our experience at all. I would highly recommend this place!

    Set outside on a beautiful day and enjoyed the weather with my friend. Our food was ok, expected better, especially for the pice of each meal. My friend ordered the Salmon, it was over cooked and dry. I ordered the shrimp pasta, it looked like the spaghetti noodles where broken in half and the half was broken ( the noodles were very short), but the dish was seasoned very well.

    The worst service and food we’ve had in a long time. Picked this place because of good reviews but they were all wrong. We went for Easter Sunday lunch and there was one server. It took us an hour to get appetizers and when they came out they were cold. The waitress said it’s because they were busy but when i went inside… not a single person in sight. Never coming back. I will say their mud pie dessert was cool but other than that it doesnt add up. We spent 3 hours there waiting for food and half the time our server forgot what we ordered. Asked for avocado on the side.. no avocado came out… asked for the side…. forgot twice. Eventually we gave up. Management needs to do better

    Nice view in a quiet location. Service overall extremely slow, waited 30” between our salad & entree. Salad was good but pasta primavera was terrible, overly drenched in olive oil & no real vegetables,just red peppers & artichokes.

    Fun place to meet with friends. A little pricey for lunch appetizers and a meal. 2 appetizers, 2 desserts, coffee and a tea…$57 + tip= $65 !!!!! Desserts could be 1/2 the size and 1/2 the price.

    It had literally been decades since I had been to the Cliff House. Before last weekend, I hadn’t been there since my teen years, and now I’m a middle-aged mom with a teenager! Yet, the place still felt timeless. Wonderful food, romantic setting, and servers that treat you like family. The magic is still at the Cliff House! Come see for yourself!

    Our server was very good. She was friendly and efficient. We ordered appetizers and salad with delicious clam chowder. Enjoyed every bite - so yummy! The only drawback was the table next to us was extremely loud. It’s hard to enjoy your meal fully when you can hear the folks at the next table over your dinner companion 😬 But, that’s not the restaurant’s fault - just a slight inconvenience. Overall, it was a nice experience.

    Met a girlfriend for happy hour. We sat in the bar area since you can only have happy hour menu in there. Selections were minimal. Margaritas we ordered were tasty. For food we ordered 3 items (tacos, French dip sliders and garlic fries) to share. Sliders and fries were good. Tacos not so much. They were cold flour tortillas with lettuce, cheese, tomato and cold grilled chicken. No flavor really. Maybe had they served them with salsa or something to provide some flavor.

    I remember when this peace was great. The menu has gotten boring, host was overwhelmed and grumpy (I think irritated with me because my reservation was not in his handwritten list, only on open table). My waiter was great and the calimari & mud pie were notable. I just wish the menu variety was even a shadow of what it was when I was a kid. There was not a single item on the menu that was surprising for different from what I could get a hundred other places. I did come out for the view and I posted a picture of that, but I hoped that the restaurant would be as striking as The View was.

    I arrived to find the restaurant very dates and freezing. We sat down and the people next to us told us that the food was horrible and their stomach already hurt and to get out while we can. It was a very weird vibe so we left and found somewhere else to eat.

    Other than the view, there is no reason to eat here. The menu items we tried were mediocre at best and the interior/atmosphere still feels old, tired, and out dated. I don’t believe it looks any different than when we ate here in the 90s. Service was adequate and efficient. This location, given the right vibe, could be a gold mine.

    Guy at front desk had me and my mom waiting for 20 minutes past our reservation. There was minimal capacity it was extremely rude as I was there with my mother for her birthday. His attitude was horrible right off he bat I had to do everything to not blow up on the guy. We ended up leaving after we felt completely disrespected.

    Menu looks great a lot of variety for a decent price. Unfortunately our waiter had way too many tables to keep up. We weren’t checked on, I had to stand in order for him to bring the check. My chicken Alfredo wasn’t done well, it and the bread were covered in shredded (not grated) cheese, I didn’t have a chance to send it back. The calamari was good, my husband had a burger which was good. Not on our return list right now.

    We made reservations for 3 ppl at 9pm on New Year’s Eve. I selected the reservation time on Open Table in the early afternoon and my daughter called the restaurant at 8pm to confirm. We arrived at 9:04pm. A busser noticed us waiting to be seated and went to look for the host. The host had already clocked out and left. The chef told him the kitchen closed at 8:30. We didn’t live down the street. Manager had also left. We drove 18.5 miles from Roseville to the restaurant. And then drove another 19 miles to another restaurant that was nice enough to fit us in. And ya’ll know we had that big storm that night. I’m disappointed in the Cliff House and it’s crossed off our list of restaurants.
