Clark's Oyster Bar
Classic coastal cooking from the Texas Gulf to the Northeastern Seaboard will influence Clark's menu. A large portion of the concept is devoted to the Oyster, Cold Bar, Seafood, & Caviar. We procure the freshest oysters from small harvesters around North America and serve cold seafood platters featuring super fresh daily specials.
Its always great, we love Clarks
We go to Clark's for Oysters but a lot of their stuff has become our favorite. We tend to just take a tour of oysters, we each get one of each. Mostly East Coast which is our preferred, some West Coast which are also very good. Haven't seen a ton of Gulf but we're fine with that. We can usually fill up on just oysters, but their shoestring fries are amazing. Clam chowder is amazing and has the teeniest kick to it, also the wedge salad is outstanding. Took a star off for ambiance because a couple next to us insisted on taking many many photos and did not know how to take low-light photos so that meant about 25 flashes throughout the course of the meal. They even had phones with the 3 cameras on them! One would think they could figure that out. I digress. Go here! Great oysters, even better cocktails, bar seating is just as fun (if not more) than table service.
Clark’s has never been anything but stellar! Time and time again it’s still Austin’s Best!
Clark's is my favorite place and every time I eat there, it is a joy. Plan ahead, or try to walk up and sit in the public table.
Amazing dining experience. Loved the oysters, lobster roll, Brussels and more!
Always a great experience at Clark’s. Consistently great food and service. Oysters are shockingly good for Texas.
We always enjoy Clark's. Consistent, elegant, delish! Must try the lobster Mac N Cheese!
Overall a good experience, the music level is inappropriate for conversation. We had the crabcakes, scallops, Oban 14, grits and brussel sprouts along with a dozen osyters. All were fine, there was a small snafu with my chowder, however it was handled tastefully and quickly resolved! My on real complaint, aside from the too loud music is the cold bread! When a meal for 2 can get to within a hair of $200, cold bread is out of place, this should be reconsidered. Definitely recommend.
Food was great! So was the service. Very enjoyable!
Excellent mostly seafood oriented
Very good quality
Always a joy and a foodie haven
The food was wonderful, I'm not an oyster fan but I definitely am now after my first experience here! My fiance loves oysters and said these were some of the best he's had. The red fish ceviche was fresh and very flavorful. The brussel sprouts were extremely tasty and the sauce on them complemented all our other dishes. Definitely give Clark's a try if you are looking to expand your palette. However, be prepared to pay a little more but the experience is worth it if you are a foodie!
Clark’s is a small, intimate Resturant on West 6 th Street. It has a small set of tables and a separate section for eating at the bar. It has a wide selection of raw seafood, roasted oysters, salads and cooked seafood. I had the grilled Bronzino and my wife the pan seared scallops. Bothe were cooked to perfection. We shared a bowl of perfectly cooked grits. With a nice bottle of Sancerre and tip the tote cost was $170.
The raw oysters were so fresh and delicious. I had the halibut and it was the best I have ever eaten!
Amazing as always! Thanks again!
Clark’s is a gem! The menu is a plethora of deliciousness! The service makes you feel like you’re in a cozy setting being served by friends.
Food was great as was the service.
The highly overrated in my opinion. Expensive, and food not that great. My NE clam chowder was all potatos with practically no clam meat. They served smoke salmon (lox) FRIED!!! and the toast almost burned and greasy!! Never again.
Food and service were absolutely great! Matchstick fries. and oysters were delicious. I would have given a higher rating, but there was an obnoxiously loud table near us that almost completely distracted us (and those around us) during our meal. I wish management had asked them to stop talking/yelling so loudly so the rest of us could enjoy our excellent food and wine.
I brought my son and his girlfriend here for his birthday. The food was outstanding but a bit on the pricey side. We will return!
Outstanding food and service every time we have eaten there
Nothing negative to say at all!!
amazing food and service
This was our first visit. We went early and found one of the few front parking spots. The inside is small and more like a bar area with a few tables. More tables were outside.
The happy hour alcohol prices were better priced than their wine (way too high). We both ate the clam chowder soup for a starter - excellent and hot, but too much pepper for our taste. I ate the mussels and clams for my main. Plenty of shellfish, but the tasty sauce did not cover the shellfish which caused the taste to diminish. Again, too much pepper. Service was excellent and my Austin beer was enjoyable. We will be back during happy hour due to value during the earlier dinner hours.
The food was wonderful, but service was rushed...food was cleared and bill was put on the table before the meal was complete, or given the option for dessert or coffee.
Another fantastic meal at Clark’s. The meal and cocktails are somehow always even better than the delicious memories that inspire us to make a new reservation. Service is always wonderful. We were so grateful to the hostess for accommodating us when we were running late due to family having some car troubles. Highly recommend for anyone looking to plan a special evening.
Prompt and friendly greeting, immediately seated for our reservation. Server was knowledgeable about menu items, but seemed to lack awareness of the occasion why we were there. Caviar service was impeccable - the accompaniments were gorgeously presented. It wasn't until after we were finished with the caviar did our server ask if we "wanted to order more food" which seemed to be a really odd question / interaction for us. We ordered salad, entrees and sides, and a bottle of wine, which was mistaken for a glass, and then promptly replaced with a whole bottle.
The celery and endive salad was really crisp and varied with sweetness of pear. The whole branzino was exceptionally prepared with delicious sauces, and we enjoyed the fries and cauliflower side dishes.
For dessert, we definitely enjoyed their dessert cocktails - desserts were generous and a great finish to the meal. In all, the only detraction was the service; it would have been nice to have someone a bit more attentive or engaging.
The food was amazing!!! The octopus is one of the best I’ve ever had. One of my top three meals EVER!!!!!
Great selection of East and West Coast oysters. Clam Chowder always great!!
Trip to Austin
Awesome little spot; incredible food and impeccable service! Get the lobster roll- it beats all of Boston's!!!
Absolutely delicious! Casual dining environment with fabulous food. Will definitely return!
Quaint, small dining room. Excellent food and service.
The server Ashley was super sweet and helped answer all of our questions. My family loved the catch of the day. Oysters were outstanding. Mussels/Clam dish could have used some more seasoning to make the broth more enjoyable, but overall fresh and yummy.
Everything was outstanding, especially the shrimp toast.
Food was great as normal, except the crab was not precut and no extraction utensils were given. But the service was awful. Things like water glasses staying empty during the meal, no one checking on how the food was, when the food was set on the table they didn’t ask if everything looks good/alright or need anything else. It’s a very small place and we are spending good money so we would expect better attention to be paid to our table.
Service was especially fabulous—thanks to Joe. Hope I have his name right!
Waitress was brutal.
It was my husband’s birthday. We go to Clark’s for every special occasion because it never disappoints!
The food was as good or better than ever. Enjoyed some excellent oysters from Prince Edwards Island and Massachusetts. The grilled octopus was slightly overcooked but the taste was still very good. The service was under par for this type of restaurant. Very arrogant staff. They need a reality check.
Had an excellent meal a little expensive but well worth it.
