I have been a fan of Clark’s since the original opened in Austin, Texas. I have also dined at the Aspen location many times; however, I will not return to the Aspen location. The food was very mediocre - we ordered oysters, crab cake, lobster roll, clam chowder, and shrimp scampi. Sad to see this restaurant produce such mediocre fare; has been an Aspen staple.
Clarks is always good! Best oysters in Aspen… great food and excellent service!
Love Clark's. Oysters are always fresh. Service is welcoming and attentive.
We usually order the lobster roll here, but tonight we decided to try the octopus and the linguini with clams. Both dishes were delicious, but the linguini was outstanding. There were about two dozen juicy little clams with delicious herbs and the pastel had a light cream sauce rather than the usual white wine and garlic sauce. We both ordered the clam chowder as a first course and it was delicious as usual. We enjoyed the Tabasco drizzle on top, but others who dislike heat should ask for it on the side. The octopus was also terrific with a few red chilies and green olives. We are wondering what other outstanding dishes we have been missing.
This is hands down our favorite restaurant to visit in Athens. The tables are spacious and give you plenty of room to spread out. The service was amazing, the ambiance with the fire was so quaint and the food is a standout. Love, love, love.
Terrific always. Five star seafood dining. Can’t beat it
Food was amazing. Cioppino was one of the best dishes I’ve ever had. It was that good.
Huge disappointment. Been here multiple times and has always been good. This time service was average at best.
My shrimp scampi had noodles added to it that had been sitting for hours. The chicken dish my wife had was so dry and the flavor was some of the worst I have tasted.
The food seemed rushed and unpleasant.
For the price, my money goes elsewhere in aspen.
We got engaged that day. We told them. They didn’t do anything special. Surprising.
Great food and great service!!
Fabulous food and fun ambience. We will definitely be back
Really good food, especially by Aspen standards that are a lot of show and not much go. Knowledgeable server, good portion sizes ( not too big, not too small, at fair prices). The only negative was the salad was drenched in vinaigrette, so the only discernable flavor was the vinegar and not the greens
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Aspen, the staff, particularly Anthony, Liz, John are awesome!
Best place in Aspen
The lighting is so bad that you can not see your food. You can not read the menu without holding a light from the phone. We saw everyone young and old trying to read the menu. It was so awful 😞 and we were there with a very well known chef from Miami and he said it ruined the dining experience.
Must have the tables lite !
Food was great unfortunately our server kept trying to clear our table even though we were still eating. I literally had to hold my fork over the brussel sprouts and still she kept trying to take stuff off our table. Felt rushed to finish our bottle of wine. There were empty tables so don’t understand why.
We drove in from Boulder, for a weekend in Aspen. An accident and construction on 70 delayed our arrival by about 45 minutes. The team at Clark’s was totally accommodating and made our reservation flexible. They were fantastic . We had oysters, grilled calamari and scallops. Everything was delicious & prepared perfectly. Highly recommend!
Small intimate dining with super staff. Service was great start to finish. The crab cake was delicious and the crispy snapper was perfect. We'll be back.
Nice all around experience.
Oysters, ceviche, chicken paillaird great.
Always delicious food and service, a really winner in Aspen!
I wanted to take my wife somewhere special for her Birthday dinner as we always do. With it being off season a lot of the Restaurants were closed. After a little searching and comment reviews we found just the place. The staff, ambiance, and food were great.
The only thing I would improve would be the crab cakes. But I was born in MD.
Service was a bit slow. We love this restaurant, and think it’s one of Aspen’s gems.
Egh. Just ok. Food is mediocre.
We have dined at Clark’s several times for lunch and decided to give it a try for dinner. The food and ambiance was fantastic but our service was moderate - very different compared to the staff during the day. However, it’s still a great place to visit!
Great place to eat in Aspen. Good service, great food.
Comfortable, relaxed ambiance with delicious food and great service!
Meal was expensive due to two cocktails and a dozen oysters at $4.50 each. They didn’t need to charge $2.50
For a second serving of the bread which was delicious.
Clark's Oyster Bar is the perfect example of wanting MORE than 5 stars to review!!
This meal was one of the Top 5 that I have had worldwide. I enjoyed each bite that I took and the flavors exceeded our expectations.
Our server, Georgina, had the perfect amount of table reactions. I enjoy a "little" attention and she was perfect with this. I do not like servers coming to the table every 2 minutes.
The entire staff were perfect. Our water glasses never went empty. (I loved the glasses so much I was tempted to slip one in my pocket :-)
I witnessed the young lady setting the tables taking care, time and attention to detail. That really impressed me.
The key lime pie was outstanding and is a must. That is a high compliment especially since I am from South Florida and go to the Keys often.
There was NOTHING to complain about on this visit.
When you are in Aspen you must try this place out.
You and your tummy will not be disappointed.
Money well spent.
THANK YOU TO THE ENTIRE STAFF, FOH and BOH, for an evening that we are still talking about.
BRAVO to the chef and pastry chef!!!
Such a fun energy! The food and service is spectacular. Can't wait to go back!
Lovely staff and really tasty, interesting, expensive seafood.
Service was fantastic.
Setting was very nice. Open kitchen which I always enjoy.
Food was average. Pricing was very high. Definitely was not wowed by the food for the cost.
The food was excellent, we enjoyed the entire meal. Best restaurant experience for us in a long time. Great cocktails too. We will absolutely recommend this restaurant to everyone we can. Keep up the good work. BTW, we’re in the restaurant business too, and this was top notch.
Clarks does not disappoint; well, part of the time. I ordered the Snapper, and it was good but it’s a shame that you needed a magnifying glass to spot it over the bed of greens (only a slight exaggeration). The price point is not reflective of the amount of food served. It isn’t; even if it is Aspen. Ugh. The crunchy potatoes with chimichurri, a must order. The drinks were great! A thank you and a shout-out to JON (bartender). On a scale from 1 to 10, it’s a solid 7, but at that price-point it should be at least a 9.
The best dinner I’ve had in a long time. So beautiful too.
Our wait person was outstanding and extremely accommodating!!
What a wonderful first (and certainly not last) experience at Clark’s. From beginning to end, it was a fantastic experience. The service and ambiance was excellent but what made our experience truly exceptional was the food. The oysters were presented perfectly and the trout and halibut were perfect. I loved the halibut with the salsa verde sauce and my date loved the trout with the red chimichurri sauce. The grits were creamy and delicious. We topped the evening with a very crisp key lime tart and coffee. We will abuse coming back. Thanks for a great experience.
The menu has very creative options and the food was delicious. Staff very friendly, service outstanding. Was so impressed looking for an second opportunity to go back on our week's vacation in Aspen.
Oysters were excellent. The Clams and mussels were superb. The crab cake was the best I’ve had since Etta’s in Seattle.
Not inexpensive but worth it. The place to go for seafood in Aspen.
