Clancey, located on the Lower East Side, is a 70-seat restaurant from Todd Birnbaum, who owned Pinch (Pizza by the Inch), and Paige Hospitality Group Managing Partner Dennis Bogart. Clancey features dishes such as “Yesterday Lo Mein,” “Something Wrapped in Bacon on a Toothpick,” and “Malaysian Prime Minister's Chicken Satay”. Our entrees include chicken under a brick, a truffle grilled cheese with asparagus and egg and a market fish prepared three ways.. The beverage program has a rotating selection of specialty craft beers for sampling, happy hour red wine on tap and cocktails such as “Napalm in the Morning”, “My Birthday Drink” and “Who’s Watching My Kids”.

After asking us to wait for 30 minutes for a table and access the bar, we were informed upon being seated that the menu was in the process of being changed and most items ( in fact, all of the items our party of 7 wished to order) were unavailable. This when we had held the res for over a week. We left. Clancey’s is definitely not recommended, but the excellent simple Dominican place on the corner, called Cibao, welcomed us warmly and served up delicious mofongo and arroz con camarones. Skip the hip atmosphere of Clancey’s and go for the warm bienvenida dominicana at Cibao, at half the price.

Food was good. The service was a bit on the slow side took 20 minutes to get the carafe of mimosa we ordered and we were next to the bar. Place just seemed understaffed and felt bad for our waiter cause he was trying the best he can to cover the entire restaurant. We would have ordered more drinks, but after an hour and a half of waiting with no silverware and napkins by the time the food was served my friends got a little worried we were just gonna stay there longer.

Aside from the pork belly noodles, below average food, worse drinks (including slightly stale beer), and poor service (had two waiters who did not coordinate - and it was still very slow!)

Great little brunch place. Awesome cocktails (3 slices of bacon in the Bloodier Mary!), delicious food and great service. Highly recommend!

My friend and I were there for about 30 minutes before having to flag down the waitresses to take our drink order. The bloody marys were nothing special, the "Not your kids lemonade stand" was delicious. We had to again flag down a waitress to take our food order. To be fair, they seemed understaffed for a New Years Day brunch, as there were only two servers who were running food, bussing tables and taking orders. However, any time we flagged them down to ask for something it was on the table within a few minutes. The "obligatory burger" was tasty and the fries were perfect. Reasonable prices, and good overall value for the food.
