Pretty bad food sat in window for a while. Service was pretty slow and it was a slow night. Place has gone down hill. Will not be going back.
I would feel more comfortable if the staff wore masks. Soup was brought out with the meal not beforehand. Fries were cold. Very slow and sparsely occupied. Not sure how they are staying in business.
I was very pleasantly surprised how good our dinner was last night. The last few years, Claim Jumper seemed to be going downhill and the food was mediocre at best. But yesterday, all of the food was perfectly cooked and seasoned.
This was the first time going to this restaurant. My bone-in ribeye was as I imagined. Perfectly cooked and very good quality meat. Unfortunately my baked potato was barely warm, not fresh and a bit dry like it was reheated on a microwave. The salmon my wife ordered was dry and she found bones in it.
There was spider webs on the lamps right next to us, and it smell stale.
I don’t think I am returning for a 120usd meal for two.
It definitely needs an update.
It was pretty empty. Service was horrible.
Food was horrible. It’s like Sizzler quality. Really went downhill. Very unfortunate
Our server Jennifer was the best! She was so sweet and accommodating! Probably the best server we have ever had!
All food I had was way better than before. What’s changed??
This was my first time at Claim Jumper and I was not disappointed. The food was delicious especially the pot pie. My husband and I are visiting family in California and will definitely be back in the future so Claim Jumper will be a restaurant on our list to take the family.
No flexibility in side choices . It’s hard to believe a side salad with lettuce and dressing costs more than a baked potato with butter sour cream and chives.
Veggies were warm while tri tip was cold. My husband had warm chicken and cold fries.
That was a shockingly bad experience. Clearly things were amiss but it was extremely bad service, food was horrible and late, orders messed up.
Overall food quality has gone down, used to be quite nice. Good service, nice atmosphere.
Very good American style food. I recommend if you are hungry
Very disappointed. Been coming here for years. New menu selection not the same. Looks like you are more interested in pushing the bar.
Great steak, our waiter was fantastic
New menu with Prime Steaks started 5/14 and is AMAZING!
Also, server Deon is top notch and really makes your dinning experience as it should be!
Ordered the two person Prime Tomahawk and it was perfect. Served on a sizzling platter with sautéed garlic cloves. We are steak fanatics and this thing was GOOD!
Sides were super tasty also. Claim Jumper is coming up in the world!
Our waiter Dion went above and beyond to make our dining experience amazing! Also, the manager came and thanked us for coming in. We will definitely be returning customers.
Claim Jumper-Mission Viejo (27845 Santa Margarita Parkway). Last night we returned to the Mission Viejo Claim Jumper for the first time since the lockdown. We chose to dine in. For years we enjoyed Claim Jumper, especially the Happy Hour experience but last night was very disappointing. The quality of the food was good and our server worked hard however a new system threw a wrench into the flow of service. It took forever for the server to actually take our order. We waited so long we couldn't remember if we ordered. When the food finally came we didn't get everything we ordered such as soup or mixed vegetables. The server was busy and probably too busy. When I spoke to the manager all he could say is "we will do better". I expected, at a minimum, an apology, and perhaps either a reduction in my $165 check or a coupon for a future visit. It will be a long time before I return again. Oh, once again Claim Jumper does not recognize the Landry rewards card!!!
The food was not good at all the service sucked the people in there were just rude as hell I will never go back to that location ever again!!!
It was a holiday so I’ll give some grace for food dragging over an hour and the fact that we weren’t greeted for over 20 minutes. But most of my issues had nothing to do with holiday volume. The restaurant was filthy. We we sat next to window and the pane had a visible thick layer of dust. Bathrooms a mess. I asked the hostess if they knew approximately how long the kitchen was running behind (in my head I considered running to McDonald’s to at least get breakfast sandwiches for the kids to eat) she gave some snarky remark about my “complaining” and “well that’s the restaurant business on a holiday. Sorry!” Then went out of her way to come over to our table to snap, “Actually I checked your ticket and it’s been 38minutes so. . .”
As the hostess, she’s actively aware we had been there for over an hour. The only reason the ticket is sitting at 38 minutes (as though that’s an acceptable ticket time for pancakes) is because the server hadn’t come over for more than 20 minutes.) Holiday or not, if you’re an hour behind you offer bread service, let folks know when they are seated, you do SOMETHING instead of lecture your patrons. Super rude, unprofessional, and inconsiderate. The actual server and manager were understanding and apologetic but the hostess was totally out of line.
Service was horrible. We walked out after waiting about 1 hour.
Let me say that this was a truly disappointing meal by any standards. Claim Jumper advertized a menu that they in NO WAY had. The breakfast was less than diner quality and the service was slow and unapologetic for the mother's day selections. I do understand that the servers don't make the menu but they should have at least gotten us our food warm and came by to see if we needed anything like jelly or syrup.... Online the menu showed specialty items such as S'mores pancakes and carrot cake french toast but they had none of those things. We drove 45 minutes for the fun menu and instead ate semi warm eggs and toast plain
Great Mother’s Day!!
Very dissatisfied with all of it.nvvvgffaffsgsgvsvsvsvsvsvvsbsbsbbsbsbsbbsbsbbsbsbsbvsvsvsvvsvsvsbsbsbbsbsb
It’s so nice to be able to dine in once again at Claim Jumper. Will be back!
The bartender was not wearing her mask properly , her nose and mouth was exposed while preparing drinks. I notified the manager and he spoke to her to correct her mask wearing position.
Nice server, really good food, and a nice ambience to go with it all.
It was nice to eat inside with friends again. The Long Island iced tea on special tasted like lemon aid and my cheeseburger was unimpressive. My wife’s shrimp dinner was too salty. We were thirsty all night long.
On May 26 I had one of the best salads I have ever eaten in my life. Today was the opposite.
I had salmon on a chopped cob salad as I did on the 26th and it was awful. I know today is a holiday but if they can’t prepare meals with the same quality they shouldn’t be open when the regular cook isn’t available!
This used to be one of my favorite places to eat, but it has definitely gone down hill. The last few times I've eaten here the food has not been good. This visit the food was cold. Prices have gone up over the years and food quality has declined. So sad because this used to be a place that you could visit and know you were going to get a great meal.
Best Cob Salad ever!
Our waitress was very friendly and was the only saving grace of the evening. The rest of the staff clearly didn’t care much to be there. They delivered my meal with a side missing (it’s known to them that it comes with two sides, but he saw there was only one and didn’t take it upon himself to ask what my other side was) and the other runners dropped off items without taking empty glasses and plates away. What kind of service is this? Basic principles of serving: when you see a completely empty plate on the table, you take it away.
Food was absolute trash as well, I was shocked they were charging the amount they did for both my husband’s meal and mine as well.
I’m trying to help you all out, do not spend your hard-earned money here. They don’t deserve it. Burger King employees work harder for you and the food tastes better.
Week of March 14, 2021, just after they partially opened restaurants in Orange County CA. Went to the Mission Viejo restaurant. Greeter was excellent. Service was very good. Food was great, but could have been less cooked. Overall, great experience for three on a birthday dinner.
Bad service. We were ignored much of the time. Food came fast
The service by Jose was excellent. The "roasted vegetables" were not "warmed" very well. The quantity was great. Indoor dining was a surprise.
Drove all the way out to the restaurant after making a reservation, only to find out they didn’t open until noon. Not okay!
Chris was our server and she was excellent!! Thank you
We went for our friends birthday and we all had a great experience. Food was good and service was fantastic. We will all return.
Not a great night at Claim Jumper. The restaurant was not crowded at all and the service was really, really slow. Wine was old not fresh sent back twice. Waiter did not know anything about what kinds they had at all had to get up and go talk with the bartender. The food took long and salad came out with our entree. Not sure I’ll go back for awhile
The check in was poor..they were more interested in takeout orders..not enough staff to check in people with reservations. The waiter was slow due to he had a huge amount of people to look after. The food was cool. Rcvd wedge salad and shortly after the cool food. Probably will not go back until fully open inside.
We had a reservation and when we got there it took about 15 minutes for anyone to recognize us. We were finally seated and our waiter ignored us for about another 15 minutes. When we motion him over he rudely said we had to wait our turn. We were seated about 5 minutes before the people he was talking to. We ordered and about 15 minutes after we ordered my friend and I were told they were out of what we wanted. When the bill finally came it was wrong and it took him another amount of time straighten it out. We won't be returning
