Service and food were great !!
Excellent meal. The atmosphere was outstanding Long the customer that always receive high quality service.
After last years disaster we decided to give them another try. Everything started out poorly (coffee served in a water glass?) but after a different waitress took over we had a fantastic time!!
Our waitress took a long time to greet us since she was extremely busy. No dinner roles or bread with this holiday dinner. Had to order pretzel bites from their very limited appetizer selections (3 total). Ordered the beer on special- and IPA on draft that was $5.75, but was given the larger glass for $7.75 instead. Overall, food was delicious but some bread would have been nice!
The quality of food this time wasn’t what I expect from Claim Jumpers. The menu is pricey and the quality didn’t match this time. Our server was outstanding, though.
I have wonderful memories of great food at Claim Jumper: before Covid :( This visit left me wanting. We were there at 4:30 with over half the restaurant empty and still waited 45 minutes for our food; with a little one this was very difficult. The food was fine: nothing to shout home about. The ambiance was as I remember it. There is no longer the salad bar: a sad change. The waitress was wonderful. My salmon was dry probably under a heat lamp while the rest of the order was cooked. The French fries were great and the soup too. The salad hardly filled the small plate it was served on. I hope once their staff is up to par these things will be remedied and it will be as great as it use to be.
The staff was kept very busy, but our server and helpers found time throughout our meal to stop and see if we needed anything. Staff took the time to recognize and thank all the veterans who were there for the special dinner on the 11th. Our waiter and helper, went above and beyond on the service they gave us, please make sure they get kudos for this!!!
Veteran menu was extensive. Value was superb. Only had to wait for about 5 minutes.
When my family and I were having dinner, we were joined by one of my uncles and his family. We haven’t seen my uncle nor his family for over a year. It was great to catch up with them and find out what had happened since we last saw them. The food we had was absolutely delicious!
My cousins enjoyed themselves and the food !
We will be back !
Just okay, the quality has really gone down. We will not be back.
Server was awesome. Felt bad for her cause she couldn’t get alot of the stuff we asked for but overall really good service for what she could get us. The food that they had available that we ordered just wasn’t that great to say the least. Will give it another shot when everyone gets back to work
Bad, bad service
When the food arrives we still didn’t have the cutlery,
the cole slow was spoiled. The food was tasteless
The waiter did not remove the dirty dishes from the table
Everything and everyone was amazing food, service and cleanliness
Overall food was great except the bbq ribs. Service was excellent
Good food but like many restaurants they are having supply issues no martinis margaritas etc available beer & wine selection good
My wife and I had a reservation for supper last night (Oct 3). We had requested a booth, and we were put way in the back. I am handicapped and had a cane, and the hostess who was seating us asked us if we wanted a high seat table in the bar. When we declined we finally got a booth way past the old salad bar.
The waiter took our order, we had orderedan appetizer, and we didn't get it till the maine course arrived. There were very few onion rings, and the plates seemed very cheap. My wife had coffee, and the cream came in small plastic cups, not like the small stainless pitchers as before.
The main course was not very visually appealing. I had ordered steak and shrimp. The steak was tough , and the shrimp were ok.
The whole atmosphere was like the Claim Jumper was hanging on by a thread.
The service and the food need to get back up to past levels otherwise it is a waste of time and money to go tere.
Claim jumpers has been our go to place for celebratory meals for years. In the past the meals were comparable in cost to other dine in places and the food very good. This visit we had the greatest server with a smile and awesome attitude and the service spectacular, but that's where it ended. I realize wit the COVID pandemic beef prices have gone up but the steak quality this visit bland and some of the poorest cuts I have ever seen. I will not be going back for some time.
Pretty sure our waiter was intoxicated. We had a good meal and enjoyed ourselves, the service was lacking and had to ask several times for our drinks and our check and to go boxes.
Will definitely eat here again, I loved the atmosphere and the waitress did an excellent job serving us. I give her a huge thumbs up!!
Excellent place. Great service and staff. Food delivered in a reasonable amount of time.
Good food, great value. The pot pie was amazing!
Great place to eat
I went with my wife and son
for lunch was great everything
Terrible service, over priced food. Looked like a buffet style place.
Wasn't worth the price. I could've gone to Black Angus for almost half the price and for much better food and service.
Choose some where else to eat.
The food was bland and nothing like it's pictured. The mac n cheese was basically watery-cheese soup with some noodles (undercooked too), they didn't prep the brussel sprouts correctly. You know, chop off the hard inedible ends like should be done - they were just a huge, un-seasasoned grease bomb.
The service was not good, at all.
We had to wait forever for everything, our waitress was never around - a different waitress ended up helping us at the end. The girl that was running the food was rude and unhelpful. I asked if they had steak sauce, she said yes then left and never brought me any.
At the end they were literally trying to box our booth in with a long row of tables for a group of 18.
They now have tvs all over the dinning area, it's very noisy and unpleasant.
Save your money and time on this one - nostalgia failed me.
We had a great lunch at Claim Jumper. The lobster BLT sandwich is the best. Jesus, our server provided excellent service. We request his section every time we come to the restaurant. He knows our lunch order with our special requests. Claim Jumper is lucky to have such a great employee!!! We would highly recommend the La Mesa restaurant and ask for Jesus. You won't be disappointed.
Short staffed. Poor bartender was so sweet. We tipped her well because we felt for her.
Outstanding service, quick table service. Great staff.
Liliana our server was no nice and friendly and took care of us so well. Chloey the manager is awesome.
Our hostess and server Kathy was awesome! She was extremely friendly, helpful and funny. We had the citrus chicken salads and they were delicious. We will definitely visit again soon.
We never got clarification if it was a BOH issue or a tech glitch, but two orders of our party of six came out almost 15 minutes before anyone else. We had an error on one order, a $51 poterhouse, and we had all eaten, boxed our leftovers, had birthday dessert AND PAID THE BILL before the dish was brought out corrected. Management did remove the charge for that entrée, but the fish and chips had no flavor in the batter. The tri-tip, which was ordered Medium, was plated almost Blue.
All in all just a rough night for our group celebrating a pretty major milestone for a dear friend, and a rough night for the staff. Sammie, or server was delightful, but there a significant lack of communication with us in regards to our orders.
We had a very nice and efficient server.
Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. I enjoyed very tasty fish tacos served with fries, while my wife who is a vegan, was served baked vegetables and fresh fruit, something not expected in a place associated with so many steak dishes. The whole experience was one that calls for a revisit.
Our salads were great! However, it kind of sucked that things were not available despite being on the full menu.
We had a good lunch at Claim Jumpers. Good food and good service.
It was extremely warm inside and even the waitress was sweating. The food was mediocre, I would not return to this place.
Don’t understand why the pricing is so expensive given that there is nothing special about the restaurant itself. It’s like going to an overpriced family restaurant chain but getting the same quality food.
The staff did a good job of serving us, given that we were sat next to a group of about 30 people. A bit disconcerting at this point in time to be sat next to a large group in a sectioned off part of the restaurant, but we could have objected so this was not part of the rating.
They no longer offer bread bowls with their clam chowder! They have no bread service at all! Big shocker. Tried their seasonal appetizer Asian Ribs. They were quite delicious. Battered and then deep fried, so the rib meat is tender but then there is a crunchy outer layer so the contrast is nice. Tangy BBQ sauce was okay. Also had their clam chowder. Was as good as always so no complaints.
Had to wait a long time for service and getting water
