Good food and service was very good, it was overpriced but given the overhead for such a nice restaurant it is expected.
Great brunch ext
Dinner on a Friday night with friends. City Works following Covid guidelines with good spacing of tables, menus on phone and everyone wearing masks.
Love the wide selection on beer options. Enjoyed the pineapple cider. Had s as burger and lives the added Parmesan seasoning to the fries. Hubby had the Nashville chicken wrap which was a great spicy flavor with chunks of chicken.
A repeat when looking for causal night out.
Great varied menu. Everything is freshly made. Victoria is a fantastic server. Large portions.
Had a great time our server was great/out going. Suggested drinks that we might want to try.
salmon was excellent as always!!
Great beer selection and blood marys. the salmon on the plank is delicious. Server was kind and helpful but I think they may have been understaffed that day.
The Tex mex Mac and cheese, filet sliders and rigatoni were all excellent.
The food was just alright my fiancé and my dishes were both subpar and not up to our expectations from what I’ve have heard of the restaurant. We will be back to give them another try as the service was great and the atmosphere was fun
Would have liked to know that there was a limited menu before we arrived.
Extremely happy as always!! Delicious food ! Great service and awesome atmosphere!
Food was reasonably priced except they charge you full price drinks for kids. At the end of the meal, they tell you they are up charging 4% to cover increased costs despite the obvious increase in menu item prices these days. Won’t go back
Fantastic Brunch! The sweet child o mine is phenomenal. A must try! The bloody mary is so crazy good!
What a fun place. We had brunch outside on the patio and had a wonderful time. We were sat right when we arrived, no waiting. The patio was clean and spacious. Our server was knowledgeable and offered suggestions. The bill was average for a Sunday brunch with cocktails. The bloody marys were great, little spicy. They have an extensive beer menu which my husband loved. The food was good my daughter had a cinnamon roll bigger than her head and loved it. The taco's and flatbread entrees were good as well. They followed all Covid rules and had extra sanitizer stations everywhere. We will be going back.
Nice outdoor patio with large screen tv. Food was amazing. I am not normally a huge fan of cheese curds but it was recommended for the table and they were delicious. Stand out was the filet mignon sliders. Delicious and cooked perfectly to order. The fish tacos were good and flavorful, but a bit too much heavy breading for my taste. Large extensive beer list as well,
Food and service good. Ambience good but not really great for date night. There are several screens with various sports on them and if you aren’t a beer drinker the regular drink menu is small.
The Ribs and Cheese Curds were delicious. Definitely recommend if you don’t mind getting your fingers messy.
Great outside seating and professional service . Love it !
Great brunch! Great Cocktails! The smoked wings are incredible.
We were looking for a brunch spot in Schaumburg, with alcohol. There aren't many choices. We took a chance on City Works because of the outdoor space. Things started out ok, we were greeted, seated, met by a server right away. We ordered drinks and the beignets. The drinks and beignets came out fast. The beignets were great. I wish small spoons were in the bowls with the sauces. By the time we ordered our the food, the patio was busy. We didn't see our server again, we has to ask multiple times for our appetizer plates to be cleared, there were bees flying around. The food took a very long time to come out. My egg white omelet didn't came with anything on the side. No bread, no fruit. The omelet was OK, but not a good value for the money.
I don't think I'll be coming back to dine at City Works again. The highlight was the patio and the beignets.
Great brunch, couldn't decide on what to have there were so many items that sounded good!
The beignets and hash were amazing, but the stand out was the house bloody Mary, a meal in itself.
Service was a little slow.
Food was very very tasty, prepared nicely and very timely.
Overall excellent experience.
Will be returning!
We had my birthday get together on their patio. It was my first dining experience with City Works. Everything was great. It was nice to have a shaded patio area that was ideal for social distancing. Only change I would suggest is having a table that isn't so low to the ground with the seating we had otherwise everything worked out and and our server I am so sorry I forgot her name she was wonderful. She brought me a delicious peanut butter dessert for my birthday. And those Green Tea shots she suggested were awesome they tasted like a margarita. Thank you everyone for making my birthday great.
Everyone was awesome in wearing masks and being safe as well as making sure the other customers were following all the rules in place. Thanks for making me feel safe to eat out again!
While the hostess could use a little more friendliness, our waitress (sorry we did not catch her name) was incredibly sweet and courteous, checking on us often without being intrusive and made sure we were having an enjoyable evening.
We took advantage of happy hour and ordered the fried pickles and cheese curds (1/2 price!) and a couple of glasses of wine. The food was ok, not great, not bad, but ok. The wine was delicious and at $6/glass for happy hour - well worth it!
Large outdoor patio area was absolutely wonderful. Open and airy, no one sitting close to us and shady in the part we were sitting in, so it was very very nice.
We will go back for sure.
Service was horrible walked out before dinner was served. Hair was in my olives in my martini. 4 drinks 2 apps $80
The food and the drinks were fantastic, the server and the service was great, they had good 'COVID' precautions. Would highly recommend.
Great happy hour apps and fish tacos very yummy!! Will definitely go back
City Works was completely disappointing! DO NOT go there if you want to watch a sports game...I asked if she would put the Blackhawks (PLAYOFF) game on....she reluctantly did it with a huffy sigh....then (God forbid) I asked to have sound on it....there was literally 15 other people (I counted) in the whole place. I was ignored 2ce and then my husband walked up to ask her and FINALLY she acknowledged him and said "we are not a sports bar and the sound system is only programed to play music." Now....let me set the scene for you, if you've never been....it's a cool bar with cool craft beers . It even has over 20 TV's that had everything from Golf, to the Cubs, to the Blackhawks, to Soccer....hmmmmm....but they are NOT a sports bar. Needless to say, we walked out---the next place (Westwood) we went to was awesome---turned the sound on and we ended up spending over $300 on food and drinks. HIGHLY recommend Westwood -- don't bother with City Works (I did feel badly for our server--she was trying her hardest to help us-----but the manager was miserable (I didn't get her name...but she's short, dark hair and had on a white lacey cardigan and black shirt/pants.). I don't know how she is in a service industry. HORRIBLE....will not go back (and we were going 1-2 times a month. Bu-Bye.
The spacing was good in the restaurant and the waiter was very receptive. Their salmon is to die for. The times that I have been there, most of the them I have ordered the salmon because it just melts in your mouth, it is so good. Love their beer collection. I was very skeptical about going back to eating inside a restaurant but no worries here. I felt very safe here and even at the bar, the people were spaced well apart. Very well done City Works. Would recommend you to anyone.
Service was great. Waitress was outstanding! The food not so good. I ordered a full slab of ribs. Very tough not tender at all.Ribs should fall off the bone, these were very hard to get off the bone. Ribs should not be chewy. The portion of baked beans extremely small, maybe a couple spoons full! Very disappointed
Nice place to visit for a outdoor atmosphere. Great waiter .
Great service and delicious food. I would highly recommend
Waiting a while up front for someone, our waiter took too long to check on us. Saw the staff talking a lot and not pay attention.
Food and patio always on point
Other than a few beers on the menu not actually being in stock everything was really good. Second time my wife and I have eaten here and we are really looking forward to the restaurant getting back to a full menu. Right now it's really just burgers, salads, and wraps, or a full blown steak dinner with not much middle ground. However the food that they are serving is really good. We have had very good service and very good meals both times that we've tried this place. The fried pickles really are some of the best that I've had.
City Works has a great beer selection. Their food menu is short but they have a little bit for everyone (loved the cheese curds!).
Our server Lauren was great!
Great place to hang out and watch a game. Amazing selection of beers on tap! Scorpion burger was delicious.
Beautiful sitting outside, great time, great food. Look up and people had dog sitting on top of table. ON TOP OF TABLE. Drinking out of water glass, that yes you and I will be drinking out of next time. Not cool Waiter seen it and didn't say anything. Dog continue to stay right on top of table that you and I will continue to eat at next time. Don't get me wrong, I love my dog, but I don't let it eat on the table with me, let alone at a restaurant. I mentioned it to the manager and she said oh, well I will say something. Not even a care in the world. Great place I won't be going back too.
It was me and my boyfriend’s first time there and we loved it! The patio seating was huge and very nice, the food is basically like pricey bar food, but it’s definitely worth it. The cranberry mojito was delicious. We will definitely be back soon!
