Located in the heart of the the Most Beautiful Square in Texas, City Post Chophouse began its story as a post office in the 1930s, during the Great Depression and Prohibition. Nearly a century later, the beautifully renovated historic building now offers an elevated dining experience, live music and private events.

Executive Chef Adrian Corkill has curated a stand-out menu, featuring fine cuts and chops of beef, lamb, and pork, as well as fresh seafood and decadent side dishes served family style, along with unique handcrafted cocktails. Accommodations for vegetarian, pescatarian, and gluten-free diets are readily available. Our wine selection includes something for everyone, with a variety of by-the-glass options.

Reservations can be made for lunch, dinner, and Sunday brunch in our main dining room, where “Texas formal” attire is appropriate. Walk-ins are welcome in our oyster bar, where our full menu is available with a more relaxed dress code.

    We visited the City Post Chophouse on Tuesday evening for their special chef inspired 4 course dinner. NOTE: the portions are intended to be small, so if you are looking for a full size entre, a different night would be a better choice. The menu is fabulous! The Tuesday night tastings were excellent. When we were described the courses, I was not prepared to be impressed (deviled egg, crab cake, chicken and waffles, and sticky tart). BUT - they were not ordinary by any means. The deviled egg had a flavorful bacon pepper jelly, the crab cake was the best I've ever had (not dense as typical - very light and airy), the reduction served with the chicken and waffles was classic but well done and the sticky tart literally melted in your mouth. We chose to do the wine pairings with each course and they were the perfect compliment to the dish - well chosen. Service was impeccable as always and we enjoy the ambiance of this historic venue.

    Every time we have dined at City Post, it has been an outstanding experience. The food is always on point . Service is attentive, and the ambience is great. So happy that Georgetown has such an incredible fine dining option. We will be back often.

    What an amazing place. The history and the devote were spot on. The service was unbelievable. We are the tomahawk pork chop with Brussels sprouts and lobster Mac and cheese. They served us a dessert for our anniversary on the house. Porkchop was ok. A little tough. Not much flavor in my opinion. The Brussel sprouts were too tough as well. Mac and cheese was great. White cake was delicious just a little dry. Still really good though. Overall we loved this place. Would definitely go back, just wouldn’t recommend tomahawk pork chop. Was still hungry after. What an amazing little gem. Can’t wait to try some other options!

    City Post was amazing recently, I took my wife for her birthday after making a reservation on Opentable. I let them know it was my wife' birthday, they had a card waiting for her and also a spot at the Speakeasy downstairs for cocktails afterwards. They even watched the timeslots and got us a later reservation the day before our visit. Everything was amazing, thank you for doing it right City Post!
