Located in the heart of the the Most Beautiful Square in Texas, City Post Chophouse began its story as a post office in the 1930s, during the Great Depression and Prohibition. Nearly a century later, the beautifully renovated historic building now offers an elevated dining experience, live music and private events.

Executive Chef Adrian Corkill has curated a stand-out menu, featuring fine cuts and chops of beef, lamb, and pork, as well as fresh seafood and decadent side dishes served family style, along with unique handcrafted cocktails. Accommodations for vegetarian, pescatarian, and gluten-free diets are readily available. Our wine selection includes something for everyone, with a variety of by-the-glass options.

Reservations can be made for lunch, dinner, and Sunday brunch in our main dining room, where “Texas formal” attire is appropriate. Walk-ins are welcome in our oyster bar, where our full menu is available with a more relaxed dress code.

We had a wonderful experience for my birthday. The waitress was so professional and attentive. Martini and one wine were good choices. Both of us ordered the prime rib which was cooked to perfection - medium rare - accompanied by horseradish sauce. Sides of mushrooms and spinach were perfect. Only sad thing - the Speak Easy was not open. It opens on Thursdays. Otherwise,, the evening was perfect. Than goodness for good acoustics - I hate those loud restaurants. And since it was my birthday - I had a complimentary dessert. Fabulous!!

Good meal, but… We’ve dined there many times, but the last visit was not up to standard. The service staff is still outstanding, but the back of house had problems. I’d ordered a steak topping that was missed by the kitchen. Our server offered to add it, but I was well into it by then and to do it properly would have required more kitchen time. My wife’s filet was well prepared and properly grilled, but it wasn’t a great filet. A supplier problem. Sending it back would have delayed the meal. The spinach was far too salty for normal tastes and far more than in the past. All of this should have been caught at the kitchen by the crew. Again, service staff were outstanding.

We celebrated my in-laws' 61st wedding anniversary at City Post Chophouse, where my bride and I have previously dined. Reserving a table was a seamless process, and Amy (our server) ensured that our celebration was a positive, memorable occasion with her friendly demeanor, engaging attitude, and timely interaction with us throughout all stages of our dining experience. The food, of course, was simply outstanding. My bride's parents truly enjoyed their "special day". Thank you!

This restaurant is located in an old post office built in the 1930s. Yet, there doesn't seem to be much left of the original interior except for a small wall of post office boxes upon entrance. This is understandable since space is needed for the business. The steaks were great, and the service was outstanding. A sommelier was on hand to answer wine questions and suggestions, and servers stood by to ensure your dining experience was outstanding. Oh, and there is a dress code: no sneakers, shorts or blue jeans, and ball caps. That is nice. This is a date-night or business meeting place. It is not noisy, so conversations are capable. I highly recommend City Post Chop House.

We could not have chosen a better place than City Post to enjoy a late lunch anniversary date. The staff and food at City Post helped to make our day feel even more special. The hostess welcomed us by name and a happy anniversary card signed by staff was waiting for us at our table. I loved the booth and our server Amy was very attentive and fun. Both Chef Adrian and the always fabulous Jena dropped by our table to congratulate us on our special occasion. The meal was wonderful. Of course I had to order my absolute favorite four onion soup, which always reminds me each time I take that first taste exactly why I love it. Each taste takes my tastebuds on a culinary journey back to France. My husband enjoyed his wagyu burger and the bite he shared was delicious. We finished off our meal each with an affogato treat, which was amazing. We both left feeling loved and cannot wait to return for a dinner soon. Thank you City Post for making our special date very special and one to remember.
