From the OpenTable editors: Located in the same Santa Monica building as his fine-dining restaurant Mélisse, one-MICHELIN-Starred Citrin is the namesake project from chef Josiah Citrin.     The food was quite good, though maybe not standout amazing; I thought it might have just been an off night. We went for the tasting menu for two without any alcohol, and it ended up costing $500. Honestly, I didn't quite feel the value matched the quality. The service was a bit slow, but I get the sense they might have been a little under-staffed that evening.

    My wife and I were incredibly disappointed by our first experience at Citrin. We spent almost three hours at the restaurant having ordered two cocktails each and five items from the à la carte menu. The first two dishes were received within two hours into our time there (with an unusually long delay between each) and the rest came out back-to-back within ten minutes only after requesting to cancel the last two dishes given the excessive delay (something we never imagined we would have to do). The food was good, but we expected at least that much. Overall, I do not believe this experience is what one would expect from a Michelin starred restaurant and the value was just not there that night. We have sent a more detailed private note to Citrin and hope that they take it seriously so that they can reflect upon what went wrong that night and make it right moving forward.

    Great service, great food, my wife and I always enjoy our dinner experiences here. Citrin along with Melisse of course are on our list of best and favorite restaurants in LA and has been for many years now.

    Service was too notch at this restaurant from the moment we walked in to the moment we walked out. At one point I spilled something on my pants and I was hoping nobody noticed but as I walked to the bathroom to clean it up the manager handed me a Tide stain remover. They really do pay attention to detail here. The food was also beyond delicious, flavors are unique and rich in flavor. There's a 4 course option, which is actually 6 course if you consider the pre and post courses. There's also an option to order a La carte, which I will try next time. The 4 course meal is $165 per person, with extra charges for specific items. Truffle and caviar there is of highest quality and well worth the extra charge to indulge. Definitely an earned Michelin star at this restaurant.

    There was a very loud obnoxious table yelling next to us all night. We asked the waiter to speak to them and he told they were friends of the chef. They let them carry on all evening. Not what you would expect considering the very high prices. I would never go again! We felt like we were in a dive bar!

    It was not our first time here, and we loved it, again! I always feel like you need to visit a restaurant a few times during different times of the week/weekend to truly understand if it’s a place you would come back again and again. This place definitely is the restaurant where we will be back. Food was delicious! Menu was fantastic! Drinks were outstanding! Service, decor, ambiance, all were top notch 👌🏻
