Circe East Greenwich
The menu consists of American-infused, Mediterranean dishes and drinks that are "exotic and special."
Short ribs for the win everytime🙌 Amazing dinner, drinks & dessert. Server forgot we made a special request to celebrate our friend’s bday, but that’s okay. Highly recommend dessert sampler.
Handicap bathroom could have been cleaner.
1 hour after arriving we finally got served.
The physical atmosphere is very nice with a modern and tasteful renovation to the location. Depending upon your table location, it can be noisy as others have noted. Hostess seemed a bit inexperienced. She acknowledged and then disregarded our request to be seated in the main restaurant area which is much less noisy. Service was friendly and competent, but a bit inattentive at times. It was appreciated that our waitress made a point to acknowledge the very long wait for our entrees. Cocktail was very good (Manhattan variation). Bruschetta could have been great but the bread was basic, thick and untoasted/ungrilled like wonderbread so it absorbed and hid the flavor of the delicious ingredients above. The burger was excellent and the bolognese pasta dish was quite good. Ambience was a bit too noisy in general and further amplified by the loud and thickly NE accented group of older Trumpers at the neighboring table. Is this a Trumper fan destination spot? The loud and proud xenophobic, self-absorbed, obnoxious and boastful banter nearby certainly made the wait for our meal feel longer as it was difficult to tune out. But overall I like the place and plan to return to try more dishes.
When we saw a new Circe location open by our house, we weren’t convinced that it would be as good as the Providence location— we were pleasantly proven wrong. Exception wine list, and phenomenal food. Absolutely will come back.
Our Waitress was friendly enough but slow to bring our bottle of wine. Came back once to ask again which wine and forgot to bring our bread - had to remind her. When the bread arrived, there was a plate of oil on it ( could have used some salt or sprinkled parm in it? ) Our water and wine glasses were never refilled, we had to pour ourselves. We sat in an "over flow" room - would have loved to have sat in main sitting area for the ambience. Surprised how long dishes sat on the tables around us - maybe they were short handed. Heard the table next to us asking another waitress to find her waiter as they were waiting for their bill to be paid. I know my husband and I won't return. We are used to higher standards. Food was decent but not enough.
Had to move our seats as we had a party of (4) and every time the table of (8) in back of
us got up to use the bathroom, my brother and sister in law had to get up to let them by. We finally moved our table. Why would they pack us in so tight ?? Also had to tell them numerous times to lower the heat, extremely hot with gas fire place on. Servers agreed.
The only negative that I can share involves being seated in an area that had once been a patio or outdoor seating area. A bit chilly and very noisy. Would love to have experienced the restaurant for the first time in the main restaurant or bar area.
Food was perfect. Bloody Mary's were so good, I would come back just for them. Service was exceptional. I will definitely be going back.
Once again dinner at Circe was enjoyable and delicious. Outstanding service from any staff that we interacted with. The food was plated quite pleasingly and was tasty. We will be back!
always love Circe, outside seating was freezing! Had to move to a different table- good and service were great
Only complaint is the bread served..... a few tiny pieces in a basket.
My friends and I have been a few times, Service is outstanding also food. We have had a great night out have told many friend about Circe. would like to see East Greenwich Circe open for Lunch.
Gf and I had a blast at brunch! We will be going back fo sho
Great atmosphere, food was spectacular and staff was awesome!!
Food quality was the only aspect that was notable. Neither the greeting or server were great. Very expensive for suburban location. Won’t hurry back
The restaurant itself is very beautiful. Self parking has plenty of spots. The hostess was absolutely horrible at her simple job. She should have been smiling, welcoming and inviting. Instead she was rude and it seemed like we were bothering her with any motion to speak. The use of the word “WHAT?” When my wife asked how new this place was was a total put off to me and I was ready to leave upon arrival. We were seated and our waitress was amazing. She immediately turned it around for me. Another waiter dropped a used fork down the back of my shirt and made a joke of it. It was ok. Things happen. The food was ok. Creative menu but nothing really worthwhile returning for. The drinks however were absolutely grand and I’d say a sit at the bar and just do appetizer and drinks would be a better way to spend your money and time. If I were management I’d take a long hard look at the individuals you hire to be the face of your establishment. It shouldn’t be up
the hard working wait staff to
Make excuses for the lackluster hostess.
Food was very good but there are many dishes with truffle oil/ flavor and I personally am not a fan of that. Service and detail was excellent and it's beautiful inside.
I enjoyed a wonderful birthday dinner with my family. The food was excellent. The menu was diverse and creative. The service was excellent. It was a spectacular evening!
My husband and I went to Circe in East Greenwich for the first time to celebrate a late Valentine's Day. Our entire experience was fantastic! We arrived a little before our reservation but were still seated immediately. The decor of the restaurant is beautiful! Our server, James, was very attentive. We started with the calamari, which was very good. I had the king crab and lobster caramelle and he ordered the georges bank scallops. Both meals were absolutely delicious. We finished our meals, but unfortunately had no room for dessert. We had a wonderful dinner and will be visiting again.
Two star rating for overall experience. The food is mediocre at best. Entrees are very overpriced for the quality & portions. We were seated in the patio area which was extremely drafty & cold. Some guests around us were dining with their coat on. There are so many amazing restaurants in the area that provide exceptional food & value that we will most likely not return.
Overall great experience. Sound system bass is a little loud. Would go back again.
Great food great service. Bartender was fun. Wait staff was attentive but private. Great night
Food was cold , server broke the cork on the wine then served the wine with cork in it
I would recommend Circe East Greenwich to a friend.
Very nice place with professional service, appetizers are the best!
Fantastic food, great service. Would recommend and will definitely go back
The service was friendly & excellent, the food was delicious and seasoned with unique spices and flavoring, , and the ambience was energizing. Circe in EG is a beautiful restaurant, conveniently located with delicious menu choices.
Dining at Circe this past week with a dear friend who had recently lost her husband, Tracey allowed us to sit
at a table in the back room by ourselves, where we could cry, and laugh, and heal. Michael was a suberb waiter, who was patient as we selected entrees, kept our water glasses full, the wine flowing, and he never left us wanting for a thing. Thank you Circe!
Food was excellent. Service was slow.
Hostess seated us in patio dining area while we would have preferred the first level.
A previous visit was better with better service.
The atmosphere was nice, however the hostess barely spoke to us when we came in and as she was seating us. Then we had to wait over 45 minutes between our appetizers and entree’s. For the price, the food was substandard. On the plus side, the waiter was very pleasant. I think they are still working out some kinks?
Our server Lexi was excellent. We were disappointed that the service was so slow and the portions were quite small for the price.
Table was ready when we arrive, but was the worst seat in the restaurant. Every time the outside door opened we felt the cold air. Food was creative and good, but very small portions with a big price.
The one suggestion I would have for the restaurant would be the need for a coat room. We were there Saturday night and everyone in the restaurant had their coat on the back of their chair. Not good for an upscale restaurant.
Nice vibe, food is good, wait service is great. It is actually in the EGCC, sign is kind of hidden.
Food is very good! Service to prompt and pleasant. I have learned going earlier on Friday or Saturday means a less noisy and enjoyable experience.
I had the clam&lobster carmelle. It was delicious. My husband had the bacon wrapped tenderloin which was really good too. All the food we ordered was delicious. My complaint would be that the hostess did not acknowledge us when we arrived. We waited a few mins until she was done dealing with the one customer ahead of us, and I had to say hello first. The servers also gave us wrong dishes a couple of times, but the waitress was nice.
Great food and service; our waiter Mike was fantastic! Definitely will make this one of our regular spots.
It was very good. The only thing I would improve on is the type of bread that is served. A few teeny tiny pieces in a basket.
Service was great, but the food was mediocre, aside from the truffle fries. Those were exceptional.
Service was very slow. We sat at 6:30. Didn’t get main courses until 8:30. Had to ask for bread. It was restaurant week, but main course was very small—beef tenderloin. Compared to other restaurants on restaurant week.
