Dinner for 9 business partners from different countries, the experience was perfect and they all enjoyed the evening.
The food was good but very expensive. Not many gluten free or vegan options.
This is a sea food grill and NOT a Chilean restaurant as is posted elsewhere. We had a good experience but our pocket book was pinched. I am willing to pay top dollar for truly amazing food and this fell a bit short of that so good food but not great value.
Spent our anniversary here and were not disappointed. The cioppino was excellent (better be...right?) and service attentive.
One of our top favorites in San Luis Obispo. Consistently fabulous service and food.
We had a birthday group of 8 people; everyone raved about their choice of entree. Our waitress was exceptional!
A friend who I hadn't seen in nearly 3 decades was in SLO and wanted to meet for a nice meal to catch up on life...my first choice was Ciopinot, not only because of their amazing seafood, but because of the brilliant service! We enjoyed an amazing evening, thank you for providing the ambience and nourishment! :)
Always great service from Annie. Love the food and atmosphere. Our favorite special occasion restaurant.
We love eating here! The food is always good. Although on the expensive side, we have never had a bad meal. Love the oysters and the cioppino!
Great place to go after touring vineyards - no corking fee for the first 4 bottles! And very good food with a cool ambiance. We'll be back!
Our go-to restaurant for special occasions. Love the food, service and no corkage for the first four bottles of wine we bring in.
Despite reservation table wasn’t ready.
They made it up offering free appetizer but service wasn’t fast enough.
Excellent food and overall great experience. Food delivery was a bit slow but that was more an issue with the kitchen not our wait staff.
Food was amazing!!
Ciopinot never fails us! Whenever we are in the area, it is always the first place we plan to go. Tonight was no exception. Be sure to try the Greek Calamari and Shrimp entree. Soooo delicious!
Our first time at Ciopinot and we had a fabulous meal. Service started slow, but as soon as we ordered our drinks and oysters casino, service level picked up. I loved the Work Cioppino, it tasted divine and it had a LOT of seafood. My husband ordered the diver scallop special and it was nicely prepared. Oh, and the bread was awesome!
After a day of wine tasting and bottle buying, this is the perfect place to enjoy your purchases with great food. There is no corkage fee for the first 4 bottles, which makes this dining experience even better.
The food is very good. Have been here many times. However this time the swordfish was on the verge of being over cooked. The garlic mashed were dry and thick I would have liked my veggies to be different other than the same old pencil thin asparagus. The mussels were delish.
This place never fails to deliver, my favorite in SLO.
We had a great time!
The snapper was delicious. Dessert was been better!!
Given the prices, I expected better. Warm bread was nice but pretty difficult to spread rock-hard nearly frozen butter. For a place that touts its wine selection, no vintages are listed on the wine list. That's inexcusable for a restaurant at this price level. Ordered a bottle of Champagne. Server came out with something different (and not on the list) asking me if it was okay as she couldn't find what I ordered. Fine by me. Each Champagne flute they gave our table was different. Whatever. Ordered a bottle of Chardonnay. There were nice Burgundy stems on our table which would have been ideal for the wine. Those were whisked away and we were given standard red wine glasses. Again, whatever. Didn't want to make a fuss.
Food-wise, everything was very overcooked. Swordfish was dry and tough. So were the prawns. And avoid the ill-conceived Stuffed Mexican Prawns - prawns stuffed with Jack cheese, wrapped in bacon, breaded, and deep fried and served with a sweet cocktail sauce. Probably one of the most bizarre dishes I have ever had. I blame myself for ordering it. Desserts did not go well. Blueberry cobbler seemed like it had been made quite a few days ago as the topping was totally soggy and had lost all of its texture. Chocolate mousse parfait was grainy.
We will not be returning.
Date night for my wife and I. The service and food were Turkey exelent . We both had Chilean Sea Bass. It was prepared perfectly
Buen sitio para comer o cenar pedir el CIOPINO , es fantástico
The service was exceptional, the food 100% good... even for the non-fish person in our group. Nice wine selection, terrific mixed drinks. The appetizer was a terrific pick as well.
It was our final, celebratory “say goodbye” dinner to our son, who was starting school at Cal Poly. It was perfect!
This restaurant is the culinary equivalent of “meh”. It’s an Applebee’s at twice the price.
So good, we went back the next night for more! Enjoyed it very much! And Alex was an EXCELLENT server, paid real attention to us and our party all night both nights!
I try to make it to Ciopinot whenever I'm in the SLO area.
The food is fantastic, the vibe is great, and they have fantastic wines to chose from.
hat's not to like? Nothing!
Wonderful food, ambiance and service. Prices very reasonable.
Spectacular fresh fish. Our server was very attentive, yet unobtrusive. A fantastic dinner!
Our family gathered at Ciopinot's to celebrate my husband's birthday. The restaurant is located in a very old brick building and in interior is lovely. Our waitress was excellent as was the food. I would highly recommend Ciopinot.
Fabulous evening - great wait staff person!
This restaurant was a real find. We happened to come across it online and we were not disappointed. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted as if we were regulars. Bartenders were knowledgeable and friendly and once we were seated, the superb service continued. Everything was amazing from the food to the service to the knowledge from the staff. We recommend the place to 3 other people the next day and will continue to recommend it. By far, one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been too.
Cheese plate excellent. Mixed seafood grill special excellent also
Good seafood and steak options. Warm bread was a hit with our kids. Enjoyed the "No Work" Ciopino
We have been here three times now and have enjoyed all of our visits. The food is excellent and we (again) split the generous portion of cioppino and the beet salad. We came in just after a multi-hour power outage in downtown SLO, so there were very few diners, but the service from Molly was great, and the food excellent as always.
My favorite restaurant in SLO. I won’t eat Chipinot anywhere else!
