   Booked weeks In advance and given a table out the back near back door and bins . Thankfully they moved us Bottle of wine we ordered was not available. All wines very expensive. Pasta arrived before pizza and was cold . It was re delivered even colder. We gave up and declined. Pizza was then delivered Luke warm - we accepted. Average for an expensive pizza. Bill included in error the pasta !! Overall an overall extremely disappointing night on all levels including price. Definitely style over substance including serving staff.

   Always a good time at Ciao Mate! As others have mentioned, the food isn't cheap. But why would it be? Ciao Mate's food is a product of premium, locally sourced ingredients made with love, skill and intention which I'm more than happy to pay for. The staff are cool, friendly, knowledgeable and all round great people. Wine list is top notch, cocktails are delicious and the vibes are sweet. Sit out back and be transported to a local taverna in Italy or sit inside for a slightly more sophisticated bar centred experience. Try it, it's worth it.

   A nice traditional Italian dinner. It was a very traditional Italian setting, and the pizza oven is from Italy. Most of the ingredients are sourced locally, but a few of the beers were not. The beers paired well with the pasta.

   Good food if very limited menu for non pizza eaters. Pleasant environment and very good service.

   We were surprised with the food. My brother in law is a chef & has worked in the industry for years & was disappointed as well. The prawn pizza was lacking generosity, the pork & fennel pasta lacked flavour & on the whole was disappointing. Wrong pasta?? and the raw Fennel did not permeate the dish. Also $16 for a bowl of lettuce leaves we feel is exhorbitant. We booked in good faith and we’re very disappointed & so sorry to have to write this. Regards Mary Carter

   The experience of eating at Ciao Mate was absolutely wonder. Bright friendly staff. Accomodating change of booking Superbly delicious food Warm ambience with such interesting decor One of group had left their scarf and we spotted the waitress in Bangalow by sheer chance the next morning before flying home. She was a lifesaver as she kindly went over and retrieved the scarf from the restaurant, saving us the job of postage and back and forth communication. A serendipitous moment we were very grateful for. Thank you

   Ciao Mate is our “local pizza joint”; we love it because it’s cool, hip, great staff & great tasting pizza; it’s a pleasure to go there for pizza.
