Church and Union is a fantastic establishment
The food was incredible! Highly recommend
I have been here before for drinks and I loved the environment so I decided to try again for restaurant week. I got the meatballs as an appetizer and honestly I did not love them. The bread crumbs on top messed up the texture and flavor. Then I ordered the chicken with polenta and broccolini. This was very good but then the dessert came and ruined my night. The dessert was the white chocolate citrus cake and I was heavily disappointed. It had tasted like there was an overwhelming amount of baking soda and it had a bad aftertaste. I would still try this place again because the staff, drinks and environment are phenomenal but I’ll be a little more picky with my meal choices next time.
Great service and extraordinary food.
We came for restaurant week and we left very happy. The food and the service was great. Especially the tuna tartar!
Food was delicious and we had great service.
The venue is so very nice, atmosphere was very nice, waiter told us the history of the church and other various info, which was great , and food was very yummy. It was a cold day and it was so unbelievably cold in there. I had to wear a coat the entire time and it was still so so cold. The waiter told us they were trying to get it to heat up in there. Overall it was a three star experience. If you are paying that much for a nice meal, I do not want to have to wear a coat and still be so cold during my experience. I do not know if this was a one time issue or reoccurrence but I will not go back until it is a warm day. Our waiter was fabulous.
Church and Union is a great restaurant with an amazing design. The food and service was excellent. They offer a variety of foods and a nice wine list.
Made a reservation and still had to wait 30 minutes for table. Very rude hostess.
Enjoyed business dinner and great meal.
If there was a restaurant where everything felt near perfect, this would be it.
Had such a great time with friends. We ate from the restaurant-week menu (this was our first visit). We will definitely make Church & Union part of our regular rotation.
Awesome place, super cool church setting. Food was great, and the service even better. Bryce was our server and made the night! She was awesome.
I have been to Charleston many times and this by far has been one of the best restaurants!
my favorite restaurant. everyone is so nice and food never disappoints. had to wait 30 later than reservation time and they gave us free appetizers. service is so nice and cares about their customers. if i could afford it i would eat there everyday.
Beautiful place, great food and good service. It's very unique and a must see. The food is also very good quality, drinks as well.
Food and service were excellent
Great atmosphere, service and food!
Fabulous food, great service and an amazing venue. The old church with the ceiling having the chapters of a book written out, out of this world.
Our server was obnoxious, but everything else was really great!
This is a must if you are visiting Charleston. We went for brunch and the French toast is to die for. We also did the food tour with the Charleston culinary tour and they brought us to church and union as well. The ambience is really amazing. It’s a must!
Overall a great experience.
We had the restaurant week menu and it was amazing!
We are new to the area from Miami and were looking for a place to have dinner for our anniversary with a good menu and an atmosphere of what we’d find back home. Church and Union definitely provided that for us. Our server Randy was exceptional and very knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. I ordered the CU burger which is beef burger with mushroom extras. It was cooked well and came with a side of hand cut fries which were lightly seasoned. My husband ordered the NY strip which was also cooked well and plated with a delicious mole sauce. He substituted his butternut squash for fries and was very pleased with the pairing. Overall this was a great experience in a cool atmosphere.
Wonderful food in an incredible environment!
Great food and service once we were seated was fantastic! Very good, local coffee. The brunch specials are unique and tasty. The church is beautiful and it’s a very unique dining experience to view the architecture. Our only issue was we were seated 30 minutes after our reservation. This was fine but we would have preferred for them to take our phone number down to text us when the table was ready. It was unorganized and the hostess had to find us in a busy bar. She only recognized us because we asked her for updates on the wait time.
Food was great! Nathan was a great server!! The restaurant itself is really cool/pretty!
Absolutely beautiful space, good food , and friendly and attentive service
Incredible atmosphere but can get pretty loud. The food was excellent and came out fairly quickly for how busy they were. Definitely recommend.
Neat venue, busy and loud . Waited 30 min past our reservation.
Amazing environment and even better food! We went to C&U on our first night in Charleston and it set the tone for a great trip. Yep of us sat at the end of one of the communal tables in the middle. Service was awesome, the waiter was very knowledgeable about menu and drinks, and very attentive. We had ravioli and scallop entrees, but the borrata app was the starve of the show!
The Restaurant Week menu was amazing!! I may go back this week. I had the meatballs as an app and the short ribs for my entree.
We visited during restaurant week 2022. The food options were very diverse- something for everyone.
We were blown away by the food. Everything we had was delicious. Cocktails were also very good.
Our server was phenomenal. Made sure we were taken care of and enjoying ourselves.
The one thing I will say was less than pleasant, was the first table we were seated at was incredibly small and felt like we were at dinner with the table next to us. However, we asked to be moved and our server made it happen with no issue.
We will be back for sure!
Great food. Friendly staff, and a really cool environment. I really liked this place and will come back
The service and the food was out of this World. We took advantage of the Charleston Restaurant Week 2022 menu, but we’ll definitely be back as regular customers.
I highly recommend the Japanese Chicken Rice bowl. Very tasty and the spices were just right. Fun place to eat.
We had an AMAZING time! My father was visiting and I asked for a specific spot to accommodate his recent surgeries and everything was perfect! Out waiter Cameron was amazing. My father is a talker and Cameron did amazing, kept my father so happy by talking with him and made the best recommendations. Jamar also helped out our table a lot. Both Cameron and Jamar were very sweet, polite and completely made our night. Hopefully coming back to see those two again soon!
