We went to Chops this past New Year’s Eve and had such a wonderful dinner that we took our kids Sunday night for Mother’s Day dinner. This time, the prices were much higher, and the portions were much smaller (in particular, a fish entrée and shared sides). The steak fillet was unusually tough for a Chops steak. Otherwise, the rest of the food was good but oddly enough, they had run out of Hash Browns and Tater Tots! Our primary server was attentive although the rest of the service was spotty; for example, we had to wait a bit for beverage service and had to ask for bread three times before they brought a small basket to the table. They also continued to push desserts on us that we did not want.
While we attributed some of the issues above to it being the "busiest day of the year" in the restaurant industry, we were a little disappointed with the overall experience on this special occasion.
