Really nice experience for my first time in a while. Shea at the bar was superb and the food (New York strip) was prepared as requested.
I’ll be back.
This was a great place for my anniversary dinner. They took really good care of us and the food was fantastic. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. It is not cheap but it is worth it.
A wonderful experience all around the service was fantastic and the staff was friendly. Food was amazing, Robbie was our waiter and he was friendly and informative regarding the food and restaurant history. A wonderful experience, highly recommended! We will be back!
Well I chose this restaurant because I always dine at Ruth Chris. I wanted to treat my sister for her 50th birthday since we had dined with Ruth’s Chris on February 11th for my daughter birthday. Well the appetizers were different and nothing we wanted to eat. The menu is different than what my party wanted to order. I brought in my own cake and they politely charged me a $15 service fee to cut the cake but after we brought it to their attention that they didn’t let us know if our waiter cut the cut we would have to pay their $15 service fee (I’ll cut the cake myself) it was no where on their menu they charge such a fee. My sister enjoyed her birthday is all that really mattered to me. We will not dine at Chophouse 13 again.
Second time dining here, service level during the week is much better than the weekend which is pretty much everywhere. Food was good, but anyone who says they could get the same meal at Outback for a fraction of the price is a moron. Outback is low grade dog food on a good day. I suggest those patrons stick to Outback.
The food is good, but they think way to much of it as the price is much higher than what we get at Capital Grill or Ruth Chris. The waiter was very proud of himself and his accomplishments in the past so much so he bragged to other tables about his loyal following while forgetting us several times. Example of this was he taking or entre order after we had finished our appetizers which of course added to the wait. I also asked for butter three times and my drink twice, not getting it until it was time to be presented with a check.
We are not *well to do* people but do enjoy our 5 star dining experiences. This place although nice, is a low 4 to high 3 due to to high cost of entree's and verbose service.
Escargot, Steaks, and sides were delicious! Service was average. There was an overwhelming bleach smell in our part of the dining room that interfered with the experience. Would definitely order takeout in the future though!
First time To restaurant- great, great, great! Greeted immediately- felt safe. Everyone followed Covid-19 guidelines. Waiter was very personable and got everything right. He was a little loud lol but I love his personality (so sorry I can’t remember his name)
Rob is an excellent waiter. He was attentive to our needs, never pushy, knowledgable with recommendation from the menu. Will definitely return.
We have gone to Chophouse for years. This visit was a bit disappointing. There was a lot of what I assume is gas smell coming from the kitchen. It was overwhelming. I had ordered a medium rare steak. it was closer to medium and flavorless. We had ordered 1 mashed potato side and two baked potato sides. We got two mashed and one baked. We mentioned the issue and the manager took the side back and replaced, but he seemed a little annoyed. Not a big deal but for the price, things should have been much better. Our bill was $260.00 for 4 people. It just wasn't good this time. That has not been our past experience. I'm hopeful we were just there on a bad night.
Food was excellent, cooked with care. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Everyone was polite from walking in to leaving and the drinks were awesome!
Our waitress was very nice and attentive. The ambience was nice overall but the Lighting could be more dim for the dinner crowd, this was particularly regarding the booth we sat in. Food was good, no complaints. Potatoes were very nice steak was tender and cooked how was asked...sides are sharing size. Cocktail was great too, and the wine, beer and liquor list had a nice variety.
Definitely one of the best restaurants in Jacksonville and THE best steakhouse in town. My wife and I enjoyed Valentine's Day dinner at Chophouse Thirteen (as we have done the past several years), and we cannot express how wonderful the experience was. The food--incredible. The service--outstanding. The ambiance--excellent.
We ordered shrimp cocktails, which were amazing. My wife's lobster bisque is the best in Jacksonville, according to her, and my wedge salad was wonderful. Our steaks--filet for me and NY strip for her--were perfectly cooked and flavorful. Our sides of creamed spinach and whipped potatoes were great additions, and our desserts were equally exquisite. Definitely get the creme brulee and/or chocolate mousse tort.
The management is outstanding, as well. I sadly did not catch her name, but the manager on staff last night gave us complimentary cocktails for a minor hiccup, reflecting just how committed to service this establishment is. Our server Tommy not only made our night, he is, without doubt, one of the best servers we have had in any dining experience. We appreciated every thing he did for us. Note to management--do not let this man go! Do what you can to keep him on board.
While I still miss the original name of The Tree, we will continue to make Chophouse Thirteen one of our staples as have done for celebratory occasions. Thank you for a wonderful evening!
Every single dish was amazing. Not overly impressed with the drinks. Service was great! They do have a kids menu and a child went running and screaming through the dining room twice, so if that bothers you or wanted a quiet romantic dinner, it’s not that kinda place. We will definitely go again. Food truly was awesome!
Staff is friendly to regulars, but first timers don't seem to matter. We were greeted pleasantly enough, but wait staff that said they would take care of us, did so on a minimal level (never saw the water guy after the initial water fill). We had to ask 2 people 3 times for lemon. Steak was a bit tougher than I expected, but everything else was good. I got the trio and the scallops were the best that I have ever had. We got deserts to go to take to other family members as well. The side toppings that they gave for the deserts was minimal and for the price they weren't all that good.
Not sure that I will go back here when there are so many other places with friendlier and better service that cost a lot less.
Simply a nice Valentine’s Day dinner with my wife.
Ambiance, fantastic service, and great foot made for a wonderful Valentine's Day date. Tommy was very well spoken and funny, and the service provided by him and the serving staff was top-notch. Everything was delicious, including the drinks. I felt like we may have over paid just a hair for the quality, but with COVID restrictions still in place and the holiday weekend it wasn't unreasonable.
Great place to eat dinner. Great environment for family’s and friends. Staff was patient and nice. Food was great probably the best steak I ever had.
I’m still frustrated by the lack of a dress code in, not only Chophouse 13, but all Jacksonville area upscale restaurants. My wife and I were celebrating a Valentines Day dinner and we sat near a four top that look as if they just came from a dirt bike rally. Certainly after 6 pm, there should be some restriction against shorts and t-shirts.
Had a wonderful evening. Food was great and service was amazing.
Great atmosphere and service. Fabulous steaks!
We went here for date night on Valentine’s Day. We had the house salad, chophouse trio, lobster Mac and cheese, and broccoli. Everything was great, but the chophouse trio was the star of the show. Service was excellent and it was treat to go to a restaurant and have a great meal with such amazing service.
One of my wife's and mine new favorite spots! Perfectly cooked aged steak and excellent cocktails! Of you've never been here, make plans now and get yourself a great steak and a shareable side.
Expected better everything for the prices charged. My $50 steak was tough, and did not even come with sides. Adding a simple side salad was an extra $8 or so, and was underdressed and nothing special. Drinks were good but also overpriced. We finished every drink before being offered another round and our entrees took too long to arrive.
We expected better service at this price level. We ended up spending over $200 on dinner for two. We both agree that we've had better food and service at other restaurants for about half the price.
Loved it! Best steaks we have ever had! Great Vday dinner. Will return for sure! Excellent service!
Excellent service. Excellent food. Excellent staff.
Long time customers. Alexandria was an excellent server.
Had reservations for dining in the main restaurant, but after sitting at the bar and talking with John, we decided to stay there and enjoy the company of him and others
Great service, meal, & price....highly recommend.
Excellent experience! Good was amazing, ambiance was perfect, service was flawless!!!
THE MAIN COURSES WERE BLAND, NO SPICES ON THE STEAK AND ONLY SALT, LOTS OF IT ON THE SALMON.. THE SERVICE WAS REALLY GOOD BUT IT WAS AT 100% CAPACITY AND WE FELT UNCOMFORTABLE.
The food was excellent and a great value for the price. I would go again for sure!
I had NY Strip and my wife had Surf and Turf, both were cooked perfectly and had excellent taste. We had calamari for appetizer which was good and a large portion. It was our first time and we will be back!
Great anniversary date and dinner. Excellent across the board.
We had a mishap when getting out of vehicle which required medical attention but not immediately need for EMT call. One of your waiters help me (from out of town) locate a local urgent care facility 2 miles down the road.
Once medical attention was complete we returned to have dinner
Thank
Service was excellent, Robbie was on top of everything but very disappointed in our bone-in ribeye. There was no flavor and it was just bland. The potatoes au gratin were undercooked a bit and we simply thought the steaks were overpriced.
The best restaurant in town, as always and for years. My favorite, lobster mac.
Had not visited this restaurant since they got a facelift and re-branded as Chophouse 13. I was very impressed with the quality and service. Would definitely go back.
Everything about the evening at Chophouse 13 was perfect! From making the reservation using Open Table to the restaurant itself. The food was impeccable and the service was over the top! Everyone in the restaurant was friendly. The greeter, the waiter, the cooks and all the service personnel. The food was outstanding for our whole party. Drinks were were spot on. Definitely a good experience.
Very nice place to have dinner and celebrate any occasion.
