A Story of bringing the East to the West, written by Chef Jiwoo Choi.
Choi's is a Contemporary Asian restaurant founded by Choi, who was at the time, 23 years old. Voted as the best Korean restaurant by San Diego Magazine, Choi's brings creativity and intensity by carrying their classic menu as well as a rotating Weekly Menu. Choi's Happy Hour highlights $1.50 Fresh Oysters, $5 Bao Tacos, $7 Specialty Cocktails, $5 Beers, to name a few. What is a life goal you have? Choi's promises a full secrecy on the answers given for the questions. We are excited to be creative within your life story. It is such a pleasure to dine at Choi’s restaurant. This was our third time. The food is so tasty and so well prepared. The four of us shared the following plates: Bao tacos, we ordered three filled with meat and one with mushrooms (my favorite), then we ordered two Galbi stone bowls, a plate of roasted eggplant with an incredibly tasty babaghanoush and the plate of Ahi tuna perfectly seared. Everything was prepared with such care and delicious. We ended up with 3 deserts, special tiramisu with berries on top, some sort of a special pancake with vanilla ice cream and berries (yum) and the third was berry crème brûlée. All great. The only thing we missed was cappuccino to go with it. The service was very attentive, the chef came to say hello, which was lovely. The parking is provided in the building next door. On Saturdays they now have pleasant live music. We are definitely coming back even though it is a 35 hour minute drive for us.

The ever-evolving Menu is outstanding, and the specials are very creative. Service is top notch as well. Jiwoon and his people deeply care about your experience, and it shines through in everything they do. The Menus is always changing so if you haven't been in a while you won't recognize it. Great place give it a try.

We really enjoyed our dining experience at Choi's before the Padres game. The octopus, tacos and oysters were excellent. our server was excellent as well and thank you for the anniversary celebration!

My husband and I came for our anniversary and we had a wonderful time. We were greeted with handwritten note from Chef Choi. The service from the beginning was amazing. Shoutout to Dylan S for being an amazing server. He explained the menu well and checked in throughout the meal to ensure our we had a great experience. The food and drinks can speak for itself. All the drinks and dishes were delicious. They surprised us with a sweet treat to the end our meal. It was such a lovely time overall. Would highly recommend coming in for a nice meal or to celebrate any occasion!

What a beautiful dinner experience! My wife and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary and I reserved a table for 3 of us including my 5 year old son. As soon as I made the reservation they sent me a message and asked for my wife's name. Fast forward to later in the evening, a table with a beautiful card and a personalized message in it was waiting for us. We got welcome drinks to accompany that. We ordered the kimchi cucumber and sesame sprouts from the banchan menu and they were fresh and yummy. We also ordered the slow roasted eggplant - the babaghanoush that came with the eggplant was better than most Mediterranean restaurants. For mains we ordered the fried chicken and the shitake fettuccine and they were really good. My 5 year old loved the chicken as well as the fettuccine. The wait staff was amazing and personal. One of them got a Polaroid and took a picture of us, and gave my wife a flower bouquet. They bought us the hotteok with vanilla ice cream desert which was also on the house and it was fantastic. Overall a very memorable experience. Highly recommend for any occasion.

Nested in downtown San Diego, next to the Petco Park, Choi's is a vibrant and modern establishment. From the moment one steps inside, the atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between contemporary chic and cozy comfort, with dim lighting and a buzz of lively conversation. The round tables are especially suitable for large parties to converse and/or share food. Dishes are artfully presented and delicious that excite the taste buds. The standout dishes are: Bulgogi Birria Mulita (Padre's home game day only), Choi's "Crispy" Chicken, and Grandma's Pork Belly Bossam. Service was attentive and friendly. A day before, Adam sent helpful parking information; which we greatly appreciated. Our server offered recommendations when asked and was not pushy to sell extra items. Overall: excellent dining experience and will visit again to try out more dishes.
