We've had 3 or 4 visits. One (possibly takeout) was not so great. All of the others have been 4*. On this occasion the service was brilliant. The Cho's Fried Chicken appetizer spicing was delicious, but the chicken was rather overcooked. The Shrimp Dumpings were very good. Wife's Pad Kee Mao was quite oily, and disliked for that, but eaten. The seafood green curry was excellent.
All in all a pretty good performance with one poor menu choice.
Great place to go for Happy Hour! Dominic provided perfect service and had great recommendations.
Delicious food always but service needs help. I know restaurants are all in tough staffing positions now, so I hope prospects improve. I think there was one server assigned to around 10 tables, two of them being 10-tops. Thats way too much for one person.
The food was excellent.
Everything was amazing. The service was very good. The food was outstanding. The array of flavors left you wanting more. We will be back.
We had an awesome experience at Cho , I would definitely recommend this place
I really enjoyed my food and drinks at cho Thai. The service was a bit slow, but they were still very nice. The ambience is gorgeous inside.
Cho That is the best Thai food in New Orleans. Service was great too!
First time here. Our server was extremely knowledgeable about the food. I wish all servers were even half as well informed as this guy. We tried about 7 items, a mix of small plates, soup, and entrees plus dessert. Everything we ate was delicious. As good as any of the other top Thai restaurants here. The green curry, maybe better. The service was attentive, timely, friendly, but considering how empty the restaurant was,
Fabulous food and service! We’ll be back to check out happy hour. Shrimp dumplings and broth were divine!
Jimmy Cho and the BRG did not disappoint ! The food was excellent, ambiance stunning, service top notch. The calamari is a wonderful addition to an already great lineup. Cho Thai has their ship in order.
AMAZING! Everything was delish! The drinks were amazing. Highly highly recommend
Wonderful food and service! Will keep coming back. Drunken noodles were amazing
This is my 5th time at Cho Thai and I will be back again! Their food is delicious, their staff is friendly, and their happy hour is the best I've found. Substantial food and amazing cocktails on the HR menu, and it's 7 days a week. Can't beat it!
The food is good, the decor is pretty, but the restaurant is SO LOUD. I couldn’t hear my husband who was 2 feet away from me - we had to scream. It took a long time to get our drinks and check, I think they are understaffed. The food was not good enough to return and the bill was high.
The wait staff work so hard, but it seems they may lack thorough training or there are simply too few of them. We waited a really long time for our cocktails, even though we could see them sitting at the bar.
The food is beautiful but, in my opinion, terribly salty.
The vibe is great, and I would go back for sure.
Excellent food only complaint is noise level.
Great service, food and ambience!! Great happy hour!
The food and atmosphere were top notch. It was an amazing dining experience
Great food. Bad service. Understaffed. Undertrained.
Amazing food - we've been following Cho Thai from our home in PA for a while, so it was great that we stayed around the corner for a wedding weekend! We went on Monday evening, had the chicken tacos, fried rice and short rib noodles. Plus, I had the amazing Thai basil cocktail. So good!
Great ambiance, attentive service, the food is outstanding, and the happy hour is an excellent value seven days a week.
We are avid regulars of Banana Blossom. We’ve been wanting to try Cho Thai and decided to check it out last Saturday night. It’s beautiful inside but we were somewhat surprised at the lighting level compared to Banana Blossom. This made the atmosphere feel a little less cozy and inviting. Dimmer lights would have set a better vibe/tone for dinner service and allowed you to appreciate the beautiful chandeliers more. Service was slow and we had to ask for some things several times and ultimately ended up not even getting some of the things we asked for but in this era where most places are understaffed it can be expected or seems to be the new normal (hopefully not forever). We have not found Banana Blossom to be affected by this because the same regulars have remained and the service has not suffered in that aspect there, so that’s why I’m mentioning it comparatively. We won’t hold it against them. Our food was delicious and we are glad to have tried it and will definitely go back. The shrimp dumplings were incredible. We also had the Thai barbecue crab claws which we’ve had at BB. My husband had the Thai tacos and loved them. He had the drunken noodle for dinner and it was delicious. My sister and I split the crab fried rice and the scallop curry. Many rave about the crab fried rice and while it was tasty, it’s a very safe choice in Thai food for me and we wished for more of a flavor punch. We couldn’t get enough of the scallop curry. Curries are typically such a strong flavor that you can tire of too much of it quickly. However, the flavors of this curry just seem to continue unfolding as you eat it. It was such a deep and developed flavor profile and so delicious. We look forward to visiting again. I’ll definitely be having the shrimp dumplings and scallop curry then! Hoping they have the spicy clams back at that time—our all time favorite!
They do mean spicy when they say spicy. Flavor was outstanding. Cocktails outstanding. Dessert Creative and great flavor. I will definitely eat here again. It’s the best Thai flavor I’ve had in New Orleans.
Loved the food and Service. Everything has a spice so get
Food was fine. Waitress a bit inattentive.
Friendly staff and great food in a great atmosphere. Everything was grade A plus!
Everything we ordered was amazing, drinks were great and service was good too.
Great, well balanced Thai food. Not a syrupy sticky mess, and not overly spicy. Really perfect food. I didn’t have a bad bite.
Delicious and inspired Thai food with a Louisiana twist! Definitely recommend!
Best Thai in New Orleans by far.
Delicious, full of flavor, great value for the money. Traditional dishes plus things I have never tried before.
The food was delicious and the ambiance was perfect. They had availability when others didn’t so I had some concern, but don’t hesitate to book here. It was far far better service and food than plenty of other places. This is a new favorite for me.
Nice atmosphere, great food, great drinks, nice people
A must stop when I’m in town!
Amazing food, decor, and ambiance!
The shrimp dumplings arrive cold— not just room temp. Who want cold broth? Taste was ok after you dug off all the dried chili sprinkled on top.
This restaurant prides itself ( apparently) in the hotter, the better. Except for tom yum which was bland.
Service was also bland.
amazing thai food! best in new orleans! Would go back!
Very amazing restaurant. The service, food and atmosphere was great! Definitely an awesome place for a date night or special occasion!
