The menu is a great mix of Peruvian and Asian food. Two small plates and two large plates was more than enough for two people. I highly recommend trying a chilcano cocktail. The traditional is less sweet than the flavored ones, but great flavor for a cocktail.
I would come back again to try more things on the menu.
Excellent food, my 8 friends and I enjoyed every single dish and dessert, nice environment, friendly latin people.
First time in DC, first time trying Jose Andres' restaurant. We love Peruvian and Asian food, my husband is Peruvian. We went for the Lomo Saltado which they were out of. Waitress didn't know what Chaufa was and was kinda rude about it. The only thing we liked was the Yucca fries, everything else from the Ginger Ale to the last bite was just awful. The Areopuerto (fried rice) was super salty, as if the only seasoning was soy sauce! We sent back the Aji de Gallina, it was luke warm and awful. We were tired from walking all day and it was late, we had no choice but to eat the awful food. Had to ask for extra white rice to mix the fried rice so that it would be editable for my daughter, and they charged us for it!!! Never again!
Great mix of cuisine. Topped off with a nice Pisco Sour.
Amazing way to spend an anniversary
An interesting and tasty combination of latin, Chinese and Japanese influences, CC's Peruvian cuisine is a great departure from most other restaurants' offerings. We particularly liked shu mai dumplings, a rice dish with pork belly and sausage, a chicken stew and the signature mousse with passion fruit. Service was sweet and generally efficient and watchful, and we enjoyed being able to sit outside.
Fantastic creative food preparation, stunning plate presentation although the pictures you may want to post do not do the food justice because of the lighting. Great service- my favorite restaurant in the District.
Sampled 6 dishes. Small portions. 3 were good and 3 were not. Nothing so spectacular that I would recommend trying.
Service and food were amazing. Flavors and options were wonderful. Drinks great. Service was impeccable. Thanks for everything.
A unique experience for both my wife and me. Creative dishes, presented beautifully. Excellent service and advice from our waitress (Fatima). Great value for truly delicious food and equally tasty cocktails.
My wife and I would go back if friends wanted to go, but we probably wouldn't come back by ourselves; the food and drinks were good, but nothing super special with DC's quality food scene.
Very inventive food highlighting Peru’s diverse culinary heritage. Excellent drinks and delightful desserts.
Great food, great service, great atmosphere. One of DC's best restaurants
The food was amazing and service was great, but ambiance was not good for a date night. It was super loud and the decorations are all wood and other hard surfaces, so the noise just echoed in the space. The neon lights in red and yellow threw us off because it have off the vibe of a high end MacDonalds. Would definitely come back but with a group of friends rather than a date.
I am happy to find China Chilcano is as good as ever!
What a fun dinner! Safety and vaccines put first, followed by clever dishes. We appreciated the great service, different styles of tapas, and the pisco sours!
We dined outside due to COVID (indoor seating available with proof of vaccination though). It was great weather so no complaints there. But all the car traffic going along the outdoor space was super annoying and loud. This is my favorite restaurant and everything is always delicious. Our waiter was very friendly and provided great service.
Excellent service. Servers were right there to refill waters. Runners explained the dishes perfectly. Our waitress was so nice. We loved the experience
The worst part of the experience was that our table was hotter than outdoors, and we were inside. We have dined at minibar, Oyamel, Jaleo, and Spanish Diner. The temperatures alone means we won’t return. Further, except for the Kung pao dishes and the pork belly mini bites, the food was just bland. We did not finish. Sad because we have been dining with Jose since Cafe Atlantico was around the corner, and even established a house account to support his efforts, and this experience was a dud. We will continue with Jaleo/Oyamel/Spanish Diner, but won’t return to this offering.
Very happy to note that they check vaccination status and ID! 👍Service was excellent and the food was good. Would recommend definitely! Thanks!
This place was nice but on the touch points I had prior to the reservation they never mentioned that it was required to provide proof of COVID vaccination. This led to a 15 min period of time where I had to go through my phone searching for a picture of my vaccination card. They should have told us about this requirement ahead of time so I could have been prepared.
Really good food and atmosphere! I love that they check for vaccination cards too.
Great meal during DC restaurant week. Good service, great cocktails, and excellent food. Would definitely return.
We went during Restaurant Week and the food was fantastic! The staff checked our vaccination cards before entering, so we felt very safe inside. It was really warm when we first got there but then they turned on the AC and it was better. The menu for Restaurant Week was a great value and included a good variety to choose from.
Went for restaurant week and food and service was outstanding. You gotta go!
Too hot. We ate inside and we’re sweating. I understand it was hot outside (though it was evening) but it should not have been this hot.
The food and service were excellent.
Food was excellent, server was knowledgeable and attentive! Great experience!
One of my favorite restaurants in the DC area. Dishes were delicious and the restaurant week deal is a great value!
Crazy good food, excellent service. We did the higher end fixed price, which was waaay too much food but amazing nonetheless.
Our server was Nick who was great, he knew so much and recommended great dishes. Drinks and food were all amazing.
Increíble la comida muy rica el lugar increíble las bebidas deliciosas y la atención de 100!!!
Our meal was amazing, presentation and flavors were out of this world.
We were a party of 6 , served quickly and efficiently. Server was fantastic and very attentive. Don't miss this place
Our party of three enjoyed the tasting menu. The food was delicious, creative, and presentation was also excellent. Service was friendly and knowledgeable about the dishes. The quantity of food was an excellent value. Overall, an outstanding experience.
Peruvian Independence Day
Muy recomendado! El postre de suspiro limeño ESPECTACULAR!
Innovative food, elegantly presented. Staff makes helpful recommendations. Good Covid protocols. Delightful experience.
Fun spot with small dishes so you can try a lot! Something for everyone on the menu, and the fusion is great, plus lots of pisco to choose from.
Delicious food and nice ambiance! Excellent service
The server was excellent, the food was amazing especially for the value. Highly recommend the tasting menu
