My husband and I went to dinner for our weekly date night. I had the Mediterranean salad, to me out of the whole meal this is where they lacked on the menu. I would have loved for it to be larger as a dinner entree with cucumbers more feta cheese and definitely more Greek olives I had one on my plate. Would also love to see a antipasto salad with the Italian meats and cheeses. The seafood fettuccini with the Lobster was delicious and so was the hot bread brought to the table prior to your meal. For desert I had the limoncello which took me back to Italy. Will visit again

My husband and I love to come here for date nights. The food is superb, the wine list is extensive, and the ambiance is casual but romantic. You will be well taken care of from the moment you walk up.

This restaurant is great for people watching in the gaslamp district of San Diego. The food is basic Italian and whether a salad or ravioli always delicious.

I had a great experience dining at Chianti. Italian cuisine is my favorite and Chianti has very delicious dishes. I highly recommend this place. It is also located in the heart of Gaslamp which is very convenient.

We just spent a very nice evening there. Got seated on the patio overlooking 5th avenue. They have heat lamps. I always get cold, so that was a huge plus. Service was very prompt and the recommendations were on point. I tried their bacon wrapped scallops, they were amazing. My husband had a filet mignon, which was cooked perfectly. Finished with a tiramisu, also tasted great!

Ate on curbside patio. Great for people watching. Seating was a little tight but not uncomfortable. Service was great, just short of superior. Food was good but not great, and just a tad disappointing for the price. I would definitely eat there again in hopes of them earning 5 stars.

Chianti the is a great restaurant. Always consistent and delicious. The menu is varied so there is something for everyone.

However, open table sent me my confirmation for Friday night, but did not give it to the restaurant. Wake up.

A good restaurant in the heart of the Gas Lamp District of San Diego. A nice outdoor dining area near the sidewalk gives a great view of life in the Gas Lamp. My wife and I had some fried calamari for an appetizer that was perfectly breaded and some of the best we have had. I had the lasagna which was hot and wonderful while my wife had the shrimp pasta which was excellent. Their house wine was good and the service was just right to make a lovely outdoor evening in San Diego.

We enjoyed our early evening meal at Chianti's. Good food, excellent wine, attentive service, and a generally enjoyable atmosphere. The only sour note of the evening...having to pay $1.00 for the two pieces of ice in a gin and tonic. Seriously? You are charging for ice?

We choose Chianti for my girlfriends birthday dinner followed by a play. We had terrific service as the staff was very friendly and attentive. The food was really good with a lot of choices, and we were able to enjoy our meal and talk in the lovely atmosphere. We would all definitely come here again.

Have been here multiple times, most have been big business dinners. This visit will be the last time going, EVER! We sat down at 7:30 and ordered some drinks and red wine. Then put our food order in at 8:30. After multiple complaints our food finally came out at 10:30. Horrible service and the food was par at best. Much better Italian food in that area. Don't waste your time or money.

The staff was accommodating with our last minute adjustment to party size. Food amazing and two of us had to request menu changes, no problem. Great dining experience want to go back.

We told everyone else that we were working with how fabulous our dinner was. I give them an A+.

Ordered the chicken sausage pasta on special that night. Sauce tasted like it came straight from a Ragu jar...thick and bland. The chicken sausage was very salty and didn't have much flavor. There was very little cheese on top. Our waiter was great and very helpful.

My husband and I were on a long weekend vacation to San Diego from Philadelphia. We ate dinner at Chianti and had an awesome experience. Food was fabulous and the service even better.

Just sorry I cannot remember the name of our server. He had brown hair and a brown beard and we thoroughly enjoyed his company.

Came here for a business dinner on a Saturday. Our food was very good, the waiter recommended wine which was also good. We had Osso Buco, a seafood pasta and a beef pasta and all were very happy with the food. It was also good to see the owner on location keeping on eye on everything.

There seems to be a problem with OpenTable and Chianti. We couldn´t have our dinner at Chianti because the restaurant has never received our reservation, although we had OpenTable confirmation.
We came back two days later and we noticed that other people with confirmed reservations through OpenTable were having the same problem. We asked the hostess and she admitted the problems.
Not good for business...

We were seated outside which should have been great in San Diego. Lot of traffic noise. The wait staff rushed the meal literally pulling our plates before asking if we were finished. This was a business meal. The host told the first person who arrived they would give our table away if everyone was not there exactly by the reservation time. Not a good experience and thankfully the customer was did not hear that. Overall rude, rushed and average food. Expected more based on their reputation.

Great place with great Italian food !!
The service was impeccable and the table by the window was great for people watching. Though we went on a rainy night and no one else was in the restaurant but us - it was fabulous!!!
I would definitely come back just for the food, the pasta was great, the appetizers (cheese board and calarmari) were out standing, my husband had the veal and was superb.
Place has great ambiance - definitely would like to go back and see if the service is just as good when busy.

It was ok. Nothing to write home about at all. I had pollo parmigiana. The chicken, itself, might as well have been a Perdue breast---not much chicken flavor and texture was middle-of-the-road. Sauce tasted like buffalo wing sauce with a bit of tomato. Spaghetti was out of a box. So was penne. Cheese board was outstanding, particularly fig jam. Our waiter was exceptional.
