I’ve never had anything at Chez Zee that wasn’t very good!
Fabulous food and desert. Live piano creates a touch of class.
Excellent brunch!! Croissants and strawberry butter were amazing !!
Toni was very welcoming and accommodating in greeting us and checking in making sure we were well taken of. Everyone was very genuine and friendly and we were graciously thanked for choosing ChezZee for our business lunch and multiple birthday celebration. Entree choices were so fabulous it was hard to decide. Our server recommended the Pecan crusted chicken and it was definitely a winner for all! The desserts were all too die for delicious!😋
Perfect place for any occasion - highly recommend and I’ll definitely be coming back soon!
Amazing we’ll go again soon…
Chose to come to Chez Zee for brunch because a client of mine (Rachel) at my gym works here and of course recommended it for brunch and desserts. Let me tell you, this place was absolutely incredible from start to finish!!! Their brunch menu is LARGE. You can get almost everything and ANYTHING your little heart may desire. The service was outstanding, i can't remember the name of our waiter but he was very friendly and helpful. We received fresh croissants and strawberry butter for the table. DELICIOUS. For brunch, we were all in an eggs Benedict mood and got different kinds. ALLLLL were extremely delicious. I HIGHLY recommend coming. The portabellino benedict was very light as you didn't have the English muffin. Full of flavor. The eggs sardou was interesting with the artichoke heart in place of an English muffin as well but the creamed spinach was top notch. Because it was my birthday we received a free dessert and went with the Coconut Tres Leches... TO DIE FOR. To wash it down we had their espresso martini.... one of the BEST I've had. Absolutely delicious. We also had their pepperino spicy bloody.... didn’t have much spice to it (was the only disappointing factor) other than that everything was wonderful.
Their menu is so Large and had taken a look at their lunch and dinner menu... safe to say i will definitely be back to try more of their dishes.
Service at brunch on 7/24/21 was pathetic.
Worst we've ever experienced at this restaurant.
Food was decent but it was hard to look beyond the horrible service.
The food choices were extensive and the food was all excellent. The restaurant itself was beautiful and broken into smaller rooms which kept down the noise usually experienced in one large room. Our waiter gave us the impression that he was actually happy to serve us-very unusual and always welcome! We went for brunch and will be going to dinner there very soon. What a beautiful place for food AND atmosphere. Highly recommended and a shout out to the incredible wait staff!
I've always liked coming here and am glad to see they are surviving covid and taking safety measures seriously. The meal was tasty and we got dessert as well. There was a very small issue with one of the desserts but it was quickly explained as to why it was what it was and on top of that the manager gave us a gift certificate which was very unexpected but nice. This is great customer care. Will continue coming here.
I do miss the happy hour specials but I guess that is due to covid.
They are consistently serving the best food and service in a unique environment.
We were there for my friend's birthday--our "go to" birthday place and we had great food and service as usual!
Highly recommended place for brunch. Food is delicious and hospitality is excellent.
We went to tonight for dinner for the last time to Chez Zee . We had supported them throughout covid via takeout. Really wanted to be there for a neighborhood staple.
It dropped to the last place on earth we will ever dine again. Dinner was sub-par, and the manager was rude and condescending.
Too many great places within a mile. Cold food. Horrible service. Destined to die out. Etc.
Definitely not worthy of the support we have showed them.
Chez Zee has been one of our favorite restaurants in Austin for many years. Always good and doesn't disappoint. Recommended.
Our server was great, very attentive without being intrusive. And the food? How can you go wrong with that delicious French toast! So good. It was good to be out and experienced “normal” again.
Good food but portions are huge.
What a great way to celebrate my parents' 66th anniversary. Our waiter was Ian, he was very attentive and helpful. As always, our meal was fantastic. We've been celebrating my parents' anniversaries for the last several years with Chez Zee and they always make us feel like we're a part of their family. Thank you to Sharon and the entire team. See you next year (and before as well).
Chez Zee is my mother's favorite restaurant in Austin, and having her birthday there is an annual highlight. Thanks for making a special day wonderful!
Totally disappointing dining experience. As bad as the food was - I cannot advise more against the creme brûlée French toast bites — so GROSS!!!- the service was worse. Perhaps this was once a lovely dining experience, but it is no more. Don’t waste your time or money here. Too many other amazing dining options in this town.
Good brunch. Quiet place with wonderful desserts if this your thing. Loved omelet, home fries, croissants, and French toast. Definitely recommend.
Had a great brunch with my parents on the 4th of July. My husband and mother both said the eggs Benedict was some of the best they have had. I had a Tuna Niciose salad it was outstanding. My dad cleaned is plate of migas. The restaurant was best but not overwhelming, good energy. Plus the croissants were great to start the meal. Loved my Mimosa, apparently the bloody Marys are good to. Highly recommend a meal at Chez Zees. It 's been around for a long time for a reason, great food.
Great as always, mimosas were a little weird and in the wrong glass but if that’s your only problem I call it a success.
This was the perfect spot for brunch with friends from out of town. The quirky ambiance, the attentive waitstaff, and the delicious food and drinks made for the perfect holiday get together after a long COVID year.
Don’t get to Che Zee often, yet the experience is always a wonderful one. Took family from out of town and they loved the atmosphere and the food.
Consistently good all the way around.
Once again, Chez Zee doesn't disappoint! Always reliable menu selection with wonderful variety. Ambience is whimsical and relaxing.
We have been going to Chez Zee’s forever. My daughter went as an infant and this week we took her daughter for her first restaurant visit. We love Chez Zee!!!
All restaurants are struggling to replace staff that
they lost during the pandemic, so I had to keep that
in mind in grading this great restaurant. The quality of their food is still excellent. The dinner crowd had not returned last evening (Tuesday) and that is a challenge that most restaurants are having. Things are headed in a positive direction post pandemic and I was pleased with how Chez Zee took care of my large group of 14 last evening.
The Noise level was to high!!!!! Need better acoustics
The food was excellent! We had prime rib that was tasty Avery tender. We had an excellent waiter who gave us the attention we needed and was very pleasant. Such a great atmosphere. They made us feel at home.
Chez Zee was the location of our wedding rehearsal dinner 7 years ago, and now that we returned to town, we returned for our anniversary dinner. Every bit was exceptional as the first time. I also appreciate the business model that welcomes being open, but still reflects the ongoing pandemic so that all guests can feel safe. Service was excellent, and we enjoyed the pace of our dinner and food at every step.
Usually the food is delish. I took my aunt, her first time. We had the redfish special, came over cooked, dried out, and without the sauce. Gooey chocolate cake and fried pickles were fabulous. Eaten there many times, my first bad experience.
Delicious. Pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for. The desserts are delightful! We sat at the bar, so the bartender took care of us. It made everything a little slower, but he was so good at taking care of a million things at once, I barely noticed. Can't wait to go again!
This is such a great location to celebrate a special event or simply celebrate getting out for lunch, brunch or dinner!!
My girlfriends and I love to meet at Chez Zee. Full Bar, great food, amazing deserts. Nice ambiance. They do have a pianist that play frequently so if you have hearing trouble, it can be too loud. Other than that, it is one of my favorite places to meet up with friends.
Chez Zee's is amazing. Celebrated a Lunch Birthday! Food, service and experience was outstanding! The staff was above and beyond in their service and attention to making our Birthday Lunch experience We have been going to this restaurant for years and it has never disappointed.
Obviously everything was frozen. When I pay $70+ for a meal, I expect a lot more. I had been there many years ago. Either new management or lower standards have replaced what it once was. I was so sadly disappointed. Never going back. It breaks my heart.
2pm, 19 June ‘21.
Do you only get croissants upon request?
Floor was a mess, full of food crumbs.
The place could use a full wall to wall dusting. Even the fake flower arrangement on the table should be wiped down.
Chair and table wobbled.
The noise level is definitely high with chatter but especially since there is live music.
Server only came to take our order and deliver our check. I had to track him down 2-3 different times for what I needed. He also took my order wrong and brushed it off when I mentioned the mistake.
But through this all, I would return. I would really like to ensure my food experience is as good as I think. Now that I know what to look past. The creme brûlée French toast was good but more like a slice of creamy, sweet pie. I wouldn’t order that again. I really enjoyed the polenta and poached egg but the bacon makes it really hard to cut through something that should slice like butter. I would’ve liked the Gorgonzola sauce on the side, it’s really rich so the whole dish in my preference doesn’t need to be smothered in it.
The quiche was good but a tad dry and the potatoes didn’t have much flavor. Home fries usually don’t so that’s not a complaint. The Brioche French toast was my Favorite… Mouth still watering!! Didn’t need syrup. It’s a nice size slice, moist, warm an already a bit sweet with the powdered sugar. Absolutely delicious!
The Lemon lavender cake slice was really good, would order again but the frosting is a bit much for my liking. I would prefer the fresh whipped cream or no topping besides the lemon. The kahlua chocolate pie is a chocolate lovers dream but be aware… it is REALLY chocolate rich. Wouldn’t order again but glad I tried it. There’s lots of brunch food options to choose from so I’m eager to try more.
Everything was wonderful! Service was outstanding! Piano player on RED piano added a nice touch. Will be back again.
Chez Zee never disappoints! We were there to celebrate Fathers Day and a birthday for brunch. Great food . Great service!
