Chez Zee is simply rhe best.... great food, funky Austin atmosphere, live piano, and excellent service ❤️❤️ even got free lemon rosemary cake for my birthday perfect for a quiet date or large party - they can handle it all. I will definitely be back 🤠
Perfect for a business lunch. Waiter was just a teeny bit inattentive, but not too bad. Quiche was stellar. Broccoli soup was very tasty.
All the staff and the food are the best - enjoy it every time I go there
The food is impressive. We will be back again!
Good parking, great food and drinks! Staff was excellent!! Would love to eat here again!
The food was very good (Southwest Crab Benedict). But the service, especially for refills on tea, was very slow and several times we had to ask for it. This may have been due to the party that was also going on, but it's very atypical.
Love this place but very, very noisy. Have to scream to hear those at table.
It was a big night and our table was sort of in an isle between two large groups. There was a wedding party in another building. Service was not a good as normal but they were swamped. It won't stop us from going again.
My favorite restaurant. Food is fabulous, dessert divine. And the atmosphere is so warm and cozy.
Best place in Austin for any occasion. The food is always good and the staff most professional and friendly
Love this place very time we go ! The orange cake is a dream !!
Pretty busy place right at lunchtime, so the service was a little slow although always friendly. Iced tea glasses were kept filled while we were waited. Since it was a business lunch, the food was somewhat beside the point, but it was fresh and delicious. Despite the lunchtime crowd, my reservation was handled quickly and efficiently. I will be back.
Excellent as always. Please update restrooms, too small with outdated fixtures!!!
Food, service, location, all perfect. They had hired help in the foyer for Mother's Day Festivities, which I thought was sweet and thoughtful. The only thing I didn't absolutely love was the noise level, but was easy to overlook with all other things being so fantastic. Delish and very filling!
Great place! Been to Chez Zee before but never for Mother’s Day brunch and never with a large party. It was really crowded. They sat us in the Gallery. They had a piano player in both the Restaurant section and the Gallery. Even though I placed a reservation far in advance for 8. We only had seats for 7 and silverware for 3 people. We waited a long time to get some silverware for my other guests after the food arrived. I was always confused as to who our waiter was so we just decided to ask any waiter for assistance. I’m sure they were getting pulled in all directions but a little more organization would have made it a lot more comfortable. I’m of course going to keep going to Chez Zee (the food is sooo delicious) but probably not during a holiday.
The food and service were great with one exception. One member of our party’s order included biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were tough and there was non enough gravy. Otherwise the food was great and so was the service.
We have dined there regularly for 20 years. On this occasion we were there for Mother’s Day. Never disappoints.
We had a wonderful time celebrating Mother's Day at the brunch.
Not only was the food and atmosphere terrific on Mother's Day but they saved the day by seating my party of 5 even though I mistakenly booked the wrong day, and even though the restaurant was already busy at 9am! Great place for a special occasion and brunch!
Wonderful Mother’s Day brunch, doesn’t get any better than this in Austin!
This was the perfect place to take my mother on Mother’s Day! She was charmed by the eclectic decor and lovely live piano music. The food was delicious, especially the creme brûlée French toast with rum sauce! Natalie is a conscientious, friendly and knowledgeable server.
We went on Mother's day, so we went on a day when they would be overrun. My daughter LOVED her fried avocado Benedict. My wife had the vegetable quiche. She felt it had just been sitting in a warming oven since the night before. I had the crème Brule French toast. Though I loved the idea of such decadence, the dish fell short of my expectations. Our waiter was very friendly and had lots of good things to say about the food, but before we received all our order, it seems he had to go to one of the computers and deal with some issue for an interminably long time before he came back and attended to us. My recommendation is to try this place, but just not on a big day.
We had a reservation for mother’s day at 2 pm and got seated at 2:45, then waited 10 more minutes to even see a server. Our server was funny but rude about splitting our bill.
We had reservations but it took 30 minutes to be seated. It was extremely loud and not pleasant. Food arrived pretty promptly but was lukewarm. Mimosas were warm and weak and took forever to arrive. Disappointed by all. We did have a good server but he also seemed frazzled by the crowd and noise level.
Perfect brunch spot, took mom for Mother's Day and she loved it.
Always a delight to dine at Chez Zee! Enjoy introducing new Austinites to a local treasure.
Always a good choice. Very polite waiter— just a bit under-trained.
One of Austin’s best venues! We experienced a medical situation while there. The staff could not have been better to help us through it. We will always be grateful.
Chez Zee is a special occasion kind of place for my family. We had reservations on Saturday, May 4 at 6:45 PM. This was our daughter's sending off meal as she is headed to California for a summer job.
We started with the Spinach & Artichoke dip appetizer and had just about finished when our entrees arrived. To be honest, I was a bit surprised how fast the chefs had everything prepared. I also heard the table next to us make the same comment. The New Orleans Chicken, Pork Tenderloin, and Pasta Primevera were all fresh, hot, and tasty! Of course, we had to top things off with dessert - Hummingbird cake, Key Lime Pie, and the Leches cake.
We had a great meal with excellent food, good ambiance with live piano music in the background, and it was quiet enough to easily communicate with each other at the table.
I made a reservation for our 1 yr anniversary and noted that in the comments. Our waiter told us he was new and it showed. He was a bit awkward and faked a British accent on his third trip back to the table. It was a bit humorous! The appetizer was nice but the entrees were average. A little disappointed in the choice of tables, as well. I don’t know if this was memorable enough to warrant a return visit.
Outstanding as always! Our guests were there for the first time and were very pleased.
Waiter was terrible. Had to ask for bread 3 times. Didn't refill drinks. Dirty dishes sat on table. Had a bday sign on the table and he never even asked whose bday it was. Dessert saved the evening.
Very poor service. Food just ok. We've eaten there before when it's been better, but something was really wrong that night. Service was just awful. We sat there 15 minutes, with no one coming to our table. Finally my husband went and told the waiter for that area that we needed some attention. He said, "Oh, no one told me you were sitting there." We were less than impressed. The whole thing took forever and we were late to our show at Bass. Not in a rush to return!
Very good food!
Everything was dead always!
Only thing missing was birthday greeting to one of our party. I did note we were celebrating a birthday on the reservation but nothing was ever mentioned once we got to restaurant.
We had a wonderful time and look forward to coming back.
My friends and I LOVE Chez Zee! The atmosphere is absolutely charming and the food is great and reasonably priced. Love the piano music!! I rarely go out to any other restaurant. Thanks for being so wonderful and for helping to "keep Austin weird"!!
This is a delightful place with a very eclectic menu....something for everyone. They willingly substituted vegetable sides. We ate on the patio because it was too loud inside. The evening was perfect weather but the table was a bit small. Desserts are to die for...lbrought half home.,
