View Private Dining DetailsBirthday celebration after seated we waited for very long time to be waited on.was disappointed in the food not like it used to be. Parking lot was full and not that many guests in the restaurant had to valet not sure why.
Great experience. Food was wonderful
Glad we had a reservation. It was crowded. Food was very good and plenty of it. Next time we’ll try to come earlier when it might be less crowded and not quite as noisy.
Tables should be checked on at least every 15 minutes. We had to look for our server several times. We saw another table stop a bus person to get their server. We had the same server. It wasn’t a super busy night.
We wanted to celebrate a special event with brunch on a Thursday which is hard to find. However, the quiche with the crab/corn chowder was perfect in this cozy, unique atmosphere and so delicious, as always!! Bon appetit!!
We got married at the Chez Zee Gallery Room in 2016 and went there this year for our anniversary. They had set up a special table for us with decorations , the service and food were excellent ! We were treated to a great dessert which completed our special night ... Thanks to all the staff and to Chez Zee for a great Anniversary Dinner !

Had included a note with the reservation, which I also emailed to the restaurant 3 days in advance. Unfortunately, our server still had no clue that it was my mother's 85th birthday. My recommendation woud be to call and personslly speak with a manager. Additionally, our group of 7 was to be seated at 2 tables pushed together where the join of the tables had, at least, a 3 inches difference in height. It took getting a manager involved to resolve. However, the food was outstanding.
Excellent recognition of occasion with festival table and personalized name.
Very nice brunch. Good service. Very noisy, not for an intimate date, great for our birthday gathering
Food was good everyone enjoyed.
Loved it! Great place to relax and enjoy a wonderful meal. From appetizers to dessert... everything was beyond tasty. We will definitely visit again next time we're in town.
Chez Zee is one of our favorites...always consistent and on the mark. Never disapoints !!!
Chez Zee continues to be an upper mid-range restaurant that satisfies a lot of folks. It has a very approachable ambiance and menu. Friday night they had a large group of prom goers and a family 70th birthday celebration as well as multiple casual groups of friends and families. The menu has something that makes nearly everyone happy. Our table for two had the Pecan Crusted Salmon and the Lamb Ragu. They were not destined for the cover of Gourmet magazine, but they were both quite good and reasonable value.
And, increasingly unusual for Austin upscale restaurants, it was possible for our table for two to carry on a normal conversation throughout dinner even though the restaurant was full.
Always a favorite! Been going here for years and the quality has held up. Love the pork tenderloin with cherry sauce (we even based our wedding meal off of it), the decadent desserts, the quirky atmosphere, and friendly service.
A real sleeper, food is always outstanding and service, as always, was excellent. For some reason its easy to forget about but not because of quality food and service. A little loud but not to the extreme.
Brought some out of town friends to Chez Zee for dinner and couldn't have been more pleased!Steaks were wonderful and and the service was great. Nice that they had live piano music to make the evening even better. Definitely recommend.
Great for small birthday celebratio
It was very nice
Great food and excellent service
It’s very busy so make reservations first!
A bit loud but fun people watching in between great food
I frequent Chez Zee on a regular basis for their New Orleans Pecan Chicken and Lemon Rosemary Cake. This was my first time to try the brunch. It was wonderful. Food was great as well as the mimosa’s and service. Will definitely come again.
We had a great breakfast brunch and as usual the food, ambiance and service were excellent.
We arrived early, but the table was ready, beautiful decorated for my friends birthday. The food was unique ( I had the crab meat omelette, fresh, our other friend had and Eggs Benedict over an artichoke) and delicious. They even surprised us with some of their famous Lemon Rosemary cake. It was wonderful, I want to go for my birthday.
Love this place!
It was surprising how noisy the dining area was.
Every person in a party of five picky diners thoroughly loved their dinner. Dessert was to die for. Callie was a terrific waitperson. Great evening!
Chez Zee is one of my go-to places, either with visitors, friends or something more special. Very nice menu, GREAT desserts, very good wait staff, nice ambiance ... Highly recommended!
Very disappointing to arrive at 11:15 with a dozen or more open parking spots reserved for valet forcing me to use this service.
Good, healthy food with an elegant dining atmosphere. Perfect for business luncheons.
Usual great service and great food to celebrate Easter Sunday.
We were disappointed. The cocktails and first course (soup/salad) were delivered at the same time as the main course! Here we were at a family reunion dinner (for 7), all from out of state, with some coming from as far as Alaska, and we felt we were being rushed through. And not just because all the food and drinks came at once, but also because the servers cleared empty plates before everyone had finished. Yet many tables were empty--people weren't standing in line to get in. One dinner order that was delivered was wrong. So one of us had nothing to eat while everyone else was eating their main course. His order finally came, and the pork chop was dry. The manager put the cost of that delayed meal was on Chez Zee, so they tried. But the evening was ruined. We didn't have a leisurely meal that we were looking forward to. I would not recommend this restaurant for group gatherings.
The five of us had our Easter dinner at Chez Zee. It was our first time there, but it won't be the last. I am a sugar junkie and the dessert menu was two...2...full sized pages. Good grief, they had sticky toffee pudding. Nuf said? Seriously, the pre-dessert course was delicious too. They sell the smoky olive oil dip and some bakery items. Our service was very good, even though the Easter celebration crowd was there. I am getting hungry again.
The desserts are the best in town and cannot be beat. Easter brunch at Chee Zee is a family tradition and even though my girls aren't kids anymore they have wonderful memories and still like to go.
Have had Sunday brunch here many times, this is first disappointment ...mimosas were awful ...cheap champagne and please, please don't serve a mimosa in a wine glass. If you know it's a holiday (Easter in this case) then stock enough champagne flutes or get an extra dishwasher. Food was marginal as well this time, need to learn to make better scrambled eggs. We have recommended Chez Zee many times in the past but after this visit, just not sure.
I love Chez Zee, and am trying to make it our Easter Brunch tradition. The menu is outstanding and the food is excellent! Why I say "trying" is because the food usually arrives warm-ish to cold. This is the main reason I keep my eyes open for another "special occasion" restaurant. I must say, I was really disappointed when my young son's chocolate chip pancake arrived on a plain plate. C'mon, Chez Zee, it's EASTER! You could have done so much better for a kid's plate, a little butter or even better, some whipped cream (that I don't have to order separately for $2), a single sausage, a couple berries, or even a sprig of garnish. For what we paid, a plate with a single pancake slapped on it is insulting. He was done much faster then the rest of us and had to sit and watch us eat. I was so sad to see his unappetizing, boring plate on such a special day. Denny's and IHOP have you beat there.
We enjoyed the magician while we waited for our plates, that was a nice treat, as well as the piano bar, and complimentary valet parking. The desserts are always amazing; we were stuffed so took some home. When we were done, we waited, and waited for our bill and to-go food (as did those around us). The bill for our family of 5 w/ tip was $160. The things you do right, are great! The things you overlook are glaring.
We had a great time for the Easter celebration
Great food and service, especially during a busy holiday.
We had a lovely Easter breakfast. Our waitress was excellent and kept our coffee fresh and full. The piano music added to the ambiance. The food was delicious 😋
We enjoyed good food and outstanding service (as usual) at this comfortable neighborhood gem. The experience was definitely enhanced by the wonderful jazz pianist, George Oldziey, who has recently been featured at this restaurant. We even had a chance to chat with George's wife, the wonderful jazz vocalist, Suzi Stern. All in all, an exceptionally fine combination of good food and great company and great music.
All was great
A wonderful atmosphere and the best weekend brunch
Great dessert! And had outdoor seating for a little quieter area for conversation
