We had a very nice small family get-together. Food, service and ambiance were all excellent.
Our first time visiting this Restautant but it won’t be our last - a fantastic gem of a restaurant with great service and a personable chef/owner who made a point of meeting his guests personally - haven’t seen that level of care and concern in a while. We’ll definitely go back and suggest everyone should as well.
Consistantly great. Great selections, very will prepared. Like being in France. Pierre makes a point to always come to our table, describe the specials and answer questions. This is how a great restaurant should be.
Another marvelous meal at Chez Pierre!! Starters of mushroom soup and frisée salad delicious followed by Dover sole, veal piccata, perfect! And the floating island of meringue for desert completed an amazing dinner. We feel like we’re in a Paris bistro. Thank you Pierre!
Food and service are excellent. The menu is large and varied with many great options, making it tough to decide what to have. Every time we've dined here, Pierre has always visited our table to say hello. Staff is friendly and accommodating. It's a bit pricey for frequent visits, but great for a special occasion.
Wonderful staff, professional and great food
Absolutely delightful and the highlight of our trip to Palm Desert this time. Wonderful decor, personable, engaging and attentive servers, and delicious authentic cuisine. Of special note was the pate served with the basket of French bread, the delicious onion soup and beautifully prepared entrees. Having never seen the Floating Island dessert on a menu before, I was anxious to try it since it was one of the best desserts my grandmother made when I was a child. It didn't disappoint and tasted just as I had remembered. Chef Pierre's visit to each table was a very nice and appreciated gesture. We loved the Eiffel Tower centerpieces on the tables and were tickled by the various Eiffel Tower motifs on all the servers' ties. Just wish I had taken a photo of them. Such a pleasurable experience in every way and we look forward to duplicating it on our next visit to the desert.
Excellent food and service. Chef Pierre comes out to greet customers and the wait staff is outstanding and many have been there for years.
Superb Food and Service. Outstanding time after time
We started with the goat cheese and onion appetizer and that was fantastic! However, my husbands steak was not cooked as he requested And that ruined it for us. And in the middle of our dinner the restaurant got really hot - not sure what was going on. We won’t be back.
Food was excellent and service good first half of meal....then disappeared!
As always, Chez Pierre and Chef Pierre provide a lovely ambiance and wonderful food and service. Simply, one of our very favorite restaurants!
We had a great experience, the owner goes to each table and this is a great touch. The Coq au Vin was awesome. The steak au poivre was done nicely as well My wife and I shared the mussel and mushroom salad... Yummy. The targon and light dressing on the salad were perfectly paired. We had cassoulet for our main and the smoked sauges pulled the whole dish together.... This restaurant is a big recommend for us. My mother is already planning her return
We had a very bumpy start; we ended up changing tables 2 times. After being seated wayyy in the back, we asked for a better table in the main part of the restaurant. The hostess passed by so many empty tables on our way to the back - why was she seating us in the back corner? We were re-seated at another table in a nicer part of the restaurant, but it turned out that was right under a vent and cold air was blowing right on us. We moved to the adjacent table, but that was one, it turns out, was reserved for a patron who specificlaly always must sit at that table for some reason. The staff apologized and we were asked to move once again!
After finally being setlled in, the rest of the evening was fine. Our server was very good. The food was not exceptional, but good standard French fare.
Another minus for me - valet parking only.
Excellent food with sublime sauces! Attentive courteous service. Memorable desserts. Great choice for all types of occasions from romantic dining to small groups.
Our dinner was fantastic from start to finish. It will be the first restaurant we visit the next time we
are in Palm Desert. Great date place. The staff is top notch.
Heard very good things. Was very excited to be able to get a reservation and dine there for our first time. We will definitely be back when we are in town next year!!
Customers are appreciated at this establishment. The chef circulates and speaks to his customers. Besides the outstanding regular menu choices are the excellent specials of the evening. The waiters are attentive and efficient. This is a "feel good" restaurant.
This was our first visit to Chez Pierre, and the reason I'm saying that, is that it won't be our last. We really enjoyed the whole evening, and what particularly impressed me was that Pierre came out and did the rounds of meeting, and checking to see that you were well informed about the menu. A very sincere and engaging owner and chef.
Wonderful and saw many friends too.
Good food and great service.
Wonderful place for Valentine's dinner. We expect it to be equally great for everyday dining. Best French food since a few months ago in Provence--and that is saying a lot!
Excellent as always! Wonderful service, outstanding food, and Pierre’s table side chats are always appreciated.
Great dining experience. Orange roughy was amazing but sweetbreads were a disappointment. Bread and pate were exceptional and the service and ambiance were both top notch. We highly recommend Chez Pierre and love the fact the chef & owner makes his way to each table to welcome his guests. Very nice touch.
As usual the food and service was excellent. Chef Pierre explained the specials whilst visiting our table. Every table was taken, deservedly so as this restaurant is a superb neighborhood gem. We loved every mouthful and had a wonderful evening.
We had guests in from England and when I made the reservation on Open Table ,I asked for a window table. They gave us a beautiful table and as usual , the food was terrific and the service excellent. Chef Pierre visited our table and explained what was special that evening. As usual, every meal ordered was terrific and prepared perfectly. Wonderful restaurant!!
We love Chez Pierre. The food has always been outstanding. I had the duck breast which was perfectly cooked and seasoned. My wife had the breaded octopus steak and was a little disappointed and wouldn't order it again, but everything else was perfect, so definitely will return!
This was our first time at Chez Pierre, but it won't be our last time. The service was great, including a visit from the chef himself, and the food was excellent. I got an orange roughy special that was honestly the best fish dish I've had here in the desert. Our entire table was pleased with their selections which varied from veal to stuffed cabbage. We will definitely be back!
The food was—don’t know how to describe it to do it justice. My husband’s escargot and the duck—suffice it to say I know the look that comes to his face when he is in food nirvana. My dinner of frisée salad which—in typically French fashion—featured a poached egg on top, incomparable bacon lardons and the most wonderful vinaigrette was so good. Sand dabs, anyone? Get them here—perfectly cooked! Superb flavors. And the service, and reception by Chef Pierre’s wife, Esther—made the entire experience exceptional, comfortable and personal. There is no doubt that we’ll be back.

Roughy was melt in your mouth as always. Delicious Caesar salad, liver pate was memorable and whipped so it was light and flavorful.
Out in plenty of time for theatre.
Food and service was exceptional. We had a party of eleven and everyone loved it. Keep up the good work.
Simpliy a fabulous experience and value.
Our first visit here. Warm and friendly. Food was outstanding. Service attentive. Will be back.
My husband always order the onion tart with goat cheese and I always order the veal kidney with mustard sauce, just love it, wish the portion was a little bigger and with fries.
We have already recommended this restaurant to friends. We were told by others that it was excellent, and that description was accurate. This restaurant serves the best food we've had in the Coachella Valley, and we've been living here 12 years having gone to virtually every other "fine dining" restaurant that is in the area in that period of time. Chef Pierre greets each group of diners at their respective tables--a nice, caring "touch."
Chez Pierre never disappoints!
Fabulous made to order food & Pierre always has a smile for the diners.
Food and service were both very good . Different menu than many restaurants and that adds to the whole experience .
Outstanding food for the money. Excellent French cuisine. Will return. What a surprise!
Chex Pierre is my favorite French restaurant in Palm Desert. I have been there several times and have not been disappointed. Our evening started with a visit from the Chef, who told us about the specials. We ordered a nice bottle of red wine from Bordeaux. The Chef told us that his speciality was the cassoulet. So, of course, I had to order that. It was delicious. It was a casserole of 2 different kinds of sausage, duck, and some pork for flavor cooked with beans. My husband went for the beef bourgonoigne, which he thoroughly enjoyed.
We also liked the pate and French bread that was served free of charge as an appetizer. I couldn't resist the profiteroles. Since we were stuffed, we asked to share the dessert. We each received a beautiful plate with a profiterole stuffed with vanilla ice cream, warm chocolate sauce, and whipped cream.
The service was great and we had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. We will definitely be returning.
