The food was very good. The waiter, Sergio, was caring for many tables and appeared relatively inexperienced, resulting in longer wait times for service.
The food was very good and service was superb
Dined with a friend. Shared baguette with special tomato dip, poke, and salad with cheese balls and croutons. Everything was delicious.
Great setting and menu for an anniversary!!
Excellent food and service in an ambience that creates a true dining experience. The front bar area is trendy and noisy but the actual dining room allows for dinner conversation with just the right amount of background noise. We have been there a number of times and have never been disappointed. My only slight criticism would be that the wine list is somewhat limited.
We had the lobster grilled cheese sandwich with bacon jam and smoked cheddar. Lots of lobster in it.
It was outstanding!!! It was so good we went back about a week later and ordered it again.
We would highly recommend this plate plus the service from our French waiter was impeccable.
When visiting Hermosa Beach again, it will be the first place we go to eat.
The Sunday brunch is a special event for us. We enjoy the "geezer" music. It is expensive, but worth it.
The entire experience was wonderful. This is one restaurant where I always order an appetizer and dessert. The service is friendly and attentive and the food is fantastic.
Great experience, great food and drinks.. whole family was stoked and I’ve been telling everyone looking for a great gastropub/dining experience to check it out.. Sarah in the Bouzy Gastropub makes one hell of a Bluechip Old Fashion 👌🏻
Food was very good, comes hot and nicely plated.
Excelled wine selection: 3 to 8oz,which you don’t often find!
The food, service and atmosphere was amazing. We absolutely love the food. Will keep coming back. Thank you
Very good food, surprising value, excellent service. The location is rather choppy, where there rooms are accessible through dark pathways, in and old, dowdy mixed use building, and the lighting is annoying, going up and down, etc. But the food and service more than make-up for the physical defects, and the room we were in was quite pleasant sans the lighting.
A great spot. Started out in the Oyster Bar with Kyle, fresh oysters and seafood, delicious. Moved into the dining room where Stryker looked after us. Sunday night is prime rib night and it was outstanding. Included Yorkshire pudding! My friend had Zarzuela, a Portuguese seafood stew. Highly recommend. Finished with some fresh made strawberry shortcake from their pastry chef Karl. All of it top notch. Will go back ASAP.
Our server Sarah was excellent! She was on top of everything. We were so pleased with her service!
Love the food and service was great.
Chez has been our birthdays restaurant for decades. Now we can eat there more often than special occasions. The southern fried chicken salad is my husbands favorite. The marinara is back and never tasted better. I had shrimp and grits with incredibly rich flavor. Fantastic service too. Always love this place
Wonderful food. We went for Easter dinner
Excellent as always. Service impeccable and Michael Franks the most wonderful restaurant owner on earth, checking in regularly as we enjoyed a lovely Easter brunch.
The start was good. A real French pleasant waiter. The slider where very nice, the bay shrimps (with avocado) were previously frozen and not well washed, there also was a lack of sauce. We ordered a pinot noir, but got a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon. I did not think it was worth while to complain. The main dish was so, so, while the desert was ultimate sweet. There is a lack of ice cream or sorbet on the menu. When coming home I did not feel well and later my wife got the same feeling as well. What was not right is unclear to us, since we had the same dishes to eat. Improve and we might make the long trip to Redondo Beach again.
Nice place and good service. However, the food is overpriced for what you get. They give very small portions and the taste is average. I would not return, too many better places for this price point.
We enjoyed a delicious brunch and good jazz music in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
Everything was amazing. We will keep coming back. Thank you
The ambience is always relaxing, the service is excellent and atttentive. All the dishes we tried were very good (we always sample each others to check out the taste). The Zarzuela was a bit too salty, but the seafood was cooked perfectly. Very nice evening overall.
Our server was efficient, knowledgeable & not aggressive. The menu was well displayed & the food was excellent. Will return.
I love this place and each time I'm there I receive excellent service and food that is beyond comparison. Sitting outside at Bouzy for brunch is always a nice way to spend the morning.
If we lived in the neighborhood we would be regulars. Completely appropriate for a special occasion or a causal dinner with good friends. The oysters were very good and the Portuguese fish stew (cioppino) was fun. Love the bread and (generous) butter. Assuming we make the drive again we’ll be back.
This restaurant has proved to be consistently reliable for friendly and welcoming service, great food and fair prices. We'll definitely be back and we never hesitate to recommend this restaurant to friends and family - it's a local gem!
Fat Tuesday ~ had the gumbo & muffuletta w/fries & Brussels, shrimp 🍤 cocktail, couple of drinks
Nothing special or to brag about🤷🏻♀️
Our waiter Taylor was very attentive 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😍
As usual, food and service and ambiance fantastic. Best place in Riviera Village still— for neighborhood bar out front, or fine cuisine in the dining room. Thank you, Michael.
Celebrated our anniversary and the owner and server were very nice. The service was great the food was wonderful. And the musicians were top notch. Such a great find for us, after so many years. We visited the original location within the hotel down the road in the late 90s. Glad to be reconnected.
I had the seafood stew special which was very tasty. My wife had the Ono which was slightly over cooked which made the fish a bit dry, but it had good flavor. My friend had the fish and chips which he said was over battered and slightly over cooked. Overall the food experience was good with the exception of a few items over cooked. I think the head chef needs to inspect dishes before they are served. We didn’t want to send dishes back because it would have taken too long.
Every time we visit Chez Melange, we feel blessed that we have this gem of a restaurant in our little village. The food never disappoints and the ambiance, service and overall experience is always always absolutely wonderful. We hope this special place is always here!
Lovely classic restaurant. Food was wonderful and despite a full dining room it was quiet. Great gem near the beach
Absolutely the best food. We had the Zarzuela, the Lobster thermador, and the Pan Lobster. Absolutely amazing. Will go back very soon.
We had great service. The idea on picking up for left over is very BAD idea. People forget...
Ches Melange consistantly offers the South Bay excellent food and service. We enjoyed our seafood meals and will return as soon as we are able. Especially appreciate Michael Franks checking in with us personally. This place is a class act.
We hadn’t been to Chez Melange for quite some time and decided to for Valentine’s Day, which is an occasion on which I had long ago decided to skip restaurants. We were very pleasantly surprised. After being greeted by Lisa, and later by Michael, we were promptly seated and almost immediately attended to by our waiter, a most pleasant young man. Although a little loud, the ambience was most welcoming.
For the occasion, a prix-fixed three course meal was offered. We had some good bread (and don’t miss Lisa’s truly famous dipping sauce) and I had an absolutely delicious glass of Malbec. My wife chose the “New Orleans BBQ shrimp,” which was quite good, while I opted for the escargot, which was the most disappointing item we tried. Very bland and almost tasteless, even with the garlic butter. The butternut squash which accompanied it was excellent.
For our main dish, my BW had the duck a l’orange–very tasty–and I picked the roasted venison loin, which was probably the best I’ve ever had, notwithstanding that I haven’t had it very often. The side dishes, her wild rice with butternut squash and my faro with mushrooms, were equally good.
Dessert for both of us was a chocolate hazelnut soufflé, which we enjoyed.
All in all, a delightful experience and I have promised myself not to go so long without returning. This was made all the better by the warmth of our hosts.
The Valentines Day menu was wonderful with three courses that included great selections. Service fabulous as always and a cozy, elegant atmosphere. Love, love, love it!
Great food and excellent service. Our server is attentive and friendly.
