Consistently the best meal in town. Although most all the dishes are unique and delicious, I believe the move to Sea Change was a smart one. Like many, I prefer to order seafood in good restaurants where it is sourced reliably, is fresh and they know how to prepare it. Even I can throw a chicken in the oven but would rather leave fish in the hands of a real chef. This visit, I had the ocean trout. Cooked perfectly, great sauce and a imaginative side dish that included chanterelle mushrooms, english peas and a small type of pasta. Every single bite was expertly prepared, portioned and plated beautifully and was incredibly delicious. No plate fillers here (think some kind of mashed potatoes and limp asparagus).
My wife had the halibut which she loved but I was too enthralled with my own dish to taste it.....I know she loved it.
We had a sparkling Sauvignon Blanc that was a first for me and was really enjoyable. The wine list is extensive and has been creatively curated to include many bottles you are not going to find in local wine shops.
Desert was their amazing key lime pie, which I have had before and was great. I will not eat desert in a restaurant that does not have a pastry chef. This is clearly made in house and done expertly.
The dinner was timed and served perfectly and no restaurant I know can make you feel more special or welcomed than this one!

The food has been better than any other times I have been to Sea Change. The value for money is hard to beat for the quality of food. The decor of Chez Melange as you first enter before going into the Sea Change dinning room leaves much to be desired. It badly needs a renovation.

For over 43 years, Michael Franks has taken very good care of us! This visit was no exception. The food was excellent and the service by Stryker was outstanding. His knowledge of wine was most helpful. We'll be going back soon.

WHOA - Nuestro din-din at Sea Change was Magnifique all around. Our reception by the owner was enthusiastically friendly. Cocktails robust, balanced and buzz-full thanks to a skilled bartender. Appetizers and entrees had no weaknesses. Rock Candy Shrimp superbe! Sea Bass and Sole entrees delicious. Fresh Berries Shortcake and Bread Pudding desserts addictive! Connor provided attentive service. Chef and Bartender came by to make sure all was well. Attention to freshness, creativity, quality, & service much appreciated. Hot Damn on a Cracker, this is a Great Restaurant!

Appetizers & main courses were excellent especially the octopus and the Sunday prime rib! Michael Franks is a very warm gracious host and our waiter Stryker was terrific! It was the perfect place for big Birthday celebration!!

Excellent food and service in an ambience that creates a true dining experience. The front bar area is trendy and noisy but the actual dining room allows for dinner conversation with just the right amount of background noise. We have been there a number of times and have never been disappointed. My only slight criticism would be that the wine list is somewhat limited.

We had the lobster grilled cheese sandwich with bacon jam and smoked cheddar. Lots of lobster in it.
It was outstanding!!! It was so good we went back about a week later and ordered it again.
Outstanding again!!!
We would highly recommend this plate plus the service from our French waiter was impeccable.
When visiting Hermosa Beach again, it will be the first place we go to eat.

Very good food, surprising value, excellent service. The location is rather choppy, where there rooms are accessible through dark pathways, in and old, dowdy mixed use building, and the lighting is annoying, going up and down, etc. But the food and service more than make-up for the physical defects, and the room we were in was quite pleasant sans the lighting.

A great spot. Started out in the Oyster Bar with Kyle, fresh oysters and seafood, delicious. Moved into the dining room where Stryker looked after us. Sunday night is prime rib night and it was outstanding. Included Yorkshire pudding! My friend had Zarzuela, a Portuguese seafood stew. Highly recommend. Finished with some fresh made strawberry shortcake from their pastry chef Karl. All of it top notch. Will go back ASAP.

Chez has been our birthdays restaurant for decades. Now we can eat there more often than special occasions. The southern fried chicken salad is my husbands favorite. The marinara is back and never tasted better. I had shrimp and grits with incredibly rich flavor. Fantastic service too. Always love this place

The start was good. A real French pleasant waiter. The slider where very nice, the bay shrimps (with avocado) were previously frozen and not well washed, there also was a lack of sauce. We ordered a pinot noir, but got a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon. I did not think it was worth while to complain. The main dish was so, so, while the desert was ultimate sweet. There is a lack of ice cream or sorbet on the menu. When coming home I did not feel well and later my wife got the same feeling as well. What was not right is unclear to us, since we had the same dishes to eat. Improve and we might make the long trip to Redondo Beach again.

Nice place and good service. However, the food is overpriced for what you get. They give very small portions and the taste is average. I would not return, too many better places for this price point.

The ambience is always relaxing, the service is excellent and atttentive. All the dishes we tried were very good (we always sample each others to check out the taste). The Zarzuela was a bit too salty, but the seafood was cooked perfectly. Very nice evening overall.

I love this place and each time I'm there I receive excellent service and food that is beyond comparison. Sitting outside at Bouzy for brunch is always a nice way to spend the morning.

If we lived in the neighborhood we would be regulars. Completely appropriate for a special occasion or a causal dinner with good friends. The oysters were very good and the Portuguese fish stew (cioppino) was fun. Love the bread and (generous) butter. Assuming we make the drive again we’ll be back.
