El chef fundador, Alain Lecomte, ha estado trabajando desde que tenía 15 años, cuando se inició en Monte Carlo y en París, Francia. En 2000 fue recompensado por sus años de trabajo y reconocido como maestro chef francés, sin duda un alto honor. Se mudó a Virginia con su familia hace 12 años, y comenzó a trabajar en las bodegas Prince Michel como chef, aunque él y Annie (su esposa), seguían soñando con poseer su propio restaurante en Richmond, Virginia. El Chez Max es la realización de ese sueño, y elabora gastronomía francesa clásica y sabrosos aromas perceptibles ya desde la puerta de entrada, como indicio de sus delicias culinarias. A few of us from high school decided to meet up and have dinner together. Troy L our server did an excellent job accommodating our drink and food requests. I had the escargot which was excellent. For my main course I had the sea bass. It was ok. Overall the evening was excellent.

As always an excellent time at Chez Max. Oliver shines as food and wine ambassador. Troy made me a lime champagne mojito which was fantastic. In the past he made me a sambuca 75, also fantastic. Roland, Brian (the owner) and all the staff are friendly, professional and make the event an outstanding experience. I need to make another reservation!

Had not been here in many years. Dinner for 4 was lovely and the service was excellent which makes this special. The waiter anticipated our every need by paying attention to reactions, etc. Will definitely return and will definitely check out the bar which is a lovely cozy spot with a bar menu as well.

Not sure if life is a banquet or a cabaret but you're going to have a good time at Chez Max. Oliver continues to shine as food and wine ambassador; Troy does a great job at the bar and the chef turns out fantastic delights. We've been almost 50 times and look forward to more! All the staff are friendly and present impeccable service. It's like being in a food and wine resort with friends. Definitely won't starve if you go to Chez Max you will enter and leave happy! Make a reservation and partake of an amazing culinary experience soon.

Wonderful dining experience! From our waiter, Richard, who was attentive and allowed us to well pace our meal and laughing/chatting with friends; to the superb meal (one got the pork chop, another the salmon stuffed with crab, another the duck and the last the sea bass ~ ALL were delicious!!! Sides of au gratin potatoes (we could have licked the dish!), asparagus and mushrooms were perfect! And the wine …. Such a great wine menu with many delicious choices. Wish we had room for dessert ….
