Our menu has changed little over the past 80 years. Quality fish and seafood prepared and served in a traditional way. The house specialty is the Dover sole meunière. Our chefs take great pride in this dish, which used to be de-boned table-side, but now done just before serving. Our lobster bisque takes 2 days to create and the classic cream of tomato remains virtually unchanged for decades. We have stayed true to cuisine classique, resisting the popular tide of nouvelle cuisine. Traditionally prepared quality seafood; unadorned and unembellished.
Used to be one of our favorites, especially in previous location. Appreciated allowing us to park in front of restaurant rather than valet. Felt safe due to table spacing and face wearing staff. Excellent salmon tartare and endive salad. Reasonable wine price. Expensive meal but worth it. Only disappointments - no recognition of wife's birthday and no serving of bread or water.
Excellent experience. Superb Dover sole and halibut. Good plate of Quebec cheeses with vintage port.
Good service.
We spent our 25th wedding anniversary dinner here and it was marvellous.
Every thing was on point from the food to the service to the ambience to the decor and even the history of the place’
Thank you for making our evening so special and a special thank you to Alex our wonderfully attentive server.
Food and service was excellent as always !!
Excellent restaurant, mais pas beaucoup de clients. Excellente nourriture. Je n’hésiterais pas à y retourner.
One of my favourite restaurants, one that I will return to again.
Comme d'habitude service et repas excellentes! Vous nous avez manqué, Merci beaucoup!
After 3 months of cooking for forced restaurant abstinence... we are not sure we can be objective about the experience at Chez Delmo. In any case... we LOVED our dinner experience more than ever. Everyone was super nice... we felt super safe... and the food was as usual wonderful. Thanks to social distancing... the restaurant was full... but it was quiet enough for easy conversation.
In short... perfect!
Excellent food and service. Perfect for dates and high-end business meetings. Happy hour with dollar oysters was heaven.
Food, presentation, service all good or excellent. My cutomers really enjoyed our lunch there.
Lobster was not great for the price.
Wonderful place - the best fish in town, by far.
This restaurant is a must do in Old Montreal, from the greeting at the door to dessert everything was perfect. The food was impeccably prepared, absolutely delicious, some of the best seafood I've ever had. The waiter Jacob was efficient, attentive, and knowledgeable, an absolute pro.
Did not care for the waiter.spoke extremely quickly and did not enunciate and knew we were Anglo yet continued on in French. He was obviously told to recommend certain dishes but his way of offering was quite pushy.
The oysters were terrific and well shucked. Fish that we ordered was also good.
I suppose if the waiter had a little more harm,we would definitely consider returning sooner rather than later.
If you like fish and seafood, this is the place to go. The sole dish and the lobster bisque were amazing.
The restaurant is nicely decorated and located in beautiful Old Montreal. The service was wonderful and the food was perfectly prepared. The service couldn’t have been better. They topped of the night with a nice little box of specialty chocolates for my sweetheart who was celebrating her birthday. We highly recommend this restaurant.
There food is too salty for me.
But the other thing was perfect.
They took few time for gice the menu to me, but it could be because I was earlier than my reservation!
If i will go Montreal again, might be i will go here again
Hubby and I visited his auntie and went for dinner to Chez Delmo. Has cocktails, appetizer, main course, wine, dessert, and coffees. We each had different items and all were fantastic. Excellent food quality, perfectly cooked, and well presented. Our server Jacob was friendly and very knowledgeable in helping us select wine. Will definitely return!
Greeting on arrival was welcoming. Service was very attentive . Food was very good. Found wine pricing a little expensive. Noise level was high. Need some sound reduction alterations..
The entire experience was outstanding from the easy online booking to the - what we noticed is standard everywhere in Montreal - warm and friendly welcome to the very appreciative staff as we left.
The food was an absolute delight.
Overall a fabulous experience.
Poisson frais, cuit à perfection. Service très agréable. On y revient.
Everything was terrific !!!
Great restaurant. Food, ambience and service is always first class here
Food was good and service was friendly. Enjoyed a great table. Waitstaff was very friendly and accommodating. Wine was delicious. Salad fresh and portions were on point. Dessert scrumptious.
It is like coming home to be greeted by Benoit and his always competent and charming servers. In this case we had Jacob who looked after us perfectly and unobtrusively. We hope we are able to get back in March. It is always one of the highlights of every trip to Montreal.
By far the best seafood pasta i've ever had. Generous chunks of scallops, lobster and shrimps, homemade pasta and lobster sauce. The service is on point. The bartender makes an amazing old fashioned. Great restaurant!
Actually got served by a first day server with no backup in a restaurant that seemed to be over staffed. Waited 15 minutes for water glasses to get filled. Drinks took forever and wasn’t checked on until our last bites were on our forks. I blame the Managment as much as the server. Terrible experience.
Great food and competent service. Wish we could come more often (living in Germany)
Great atmosphere and service. The scallops were excellent!
Happy to have visited there. Raphael was kind and attentive. Hope to have another opportunity yo return.
The food was exceptionally tasty. The service was great. I wish I had more time in Montreal so that I could go there for dinner again.
The prices make it so that this place can not be put on my regular rotation. Over $300 tax and tip for two soups, two lobsters one dessert, two drinks and one glass of wine. The price all in should have been south of $250. The lobster was a bit over done. The tomato soup was a step or two above Campbells, it did not live up to it's hype at all. Very nice place for a special occasion, but would not be my first choice for sea food on a regular basis. Service was good.
