Chez Billy Sud
Absolutely wonderful dinner. Very nice and welcoming staff as well.
Excellent in every way! A jewel of a restaurant - delicious, intimate, wonderful ambiance and happy staff.
My husband and I love Chez Billy Sud for it's warm welcome, caring and efficient service, and yummy food and wine. We eat at this charming French-style restaurant at least twice a month. Our current favorite dish is the Magret (duck breast) with a delightful array of grains, purees, and a well-made sauce. There are many other dishes on the menu we order, such as the salmon, the Allen Brothers steak, the trout, and the tuna. Unlike many Washington restaurants, there is a wide range of ages in the other patrons. And you can actually hear the conversation at your table!
This restaurant is truly a gem. Everything was exceptional. The food, the service, the atmosphere. I ordered the duck breast and it was truly one of the best preparations of duck I've ever had. I would visit this restaurant again and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the DC area.
It was really excellent the service the food and the ambience. I can’t recommend it enough. My only trade would be that it gets so popular that it would be hard to get into.
Very enjoyable and delicious.
Our waiter Torrance was amazing. We are there a couple of months ago and he somehow remembered our drink preferences and wine choice. He gave us great recommendations on food and was just overall super friendly and awesome.
Great atmosphere and warm service. Really nice spot. Feels like you are somewhere else!
Sunday night family dinner and it was perfect. The waiter’s suggestions were excellent
Loved our dinner! Very delicious! Awesome ambience. Our waitress Mac was super helpful. And huuuuuuuuge props to the sommelier Mike! He totally went out of his way to make sure we had a great wine and to give us tips for our upcoming travel!
A wonderful experience; delicious food, exquisite service, and cozy and quiet ambiance made for a delightful evening with a dear friend.
Waiter, Cameron, was outstanding. One of the best.
We loved our experience. The food was delicious and the service was unhurried, thoughtful and friendly.
Great service and food !!!
We celebrated a birthday at Chez Billy Sud, and celebrated again a couple of days later at Chez Panisse Cafe in Berkeley. I had the duck confit at both restaurants. Brendan L'Etoile/Chez Billy Sud's version won out over Alice Waters/Chez Panisse's. Nuff said.
Chez Billy is a hidden, Georgetown gem. It's even better when the warm weather returns, and you can sit outside.
The service was fabulous, the food amazing and the ambiance relaxing and elegant. Every time is like being on a mini-vacation.
Lovely cozy French restaurant in the heart of Georgetown with great bread and friendly service.
We go here at least once a year. It is one of our favorite restaurants. Always delicious!
It is always a pleasure to have dinner at Chez Billy Sud. The staff does such a great job and the service is outstanding. The food is some of the best in the city. The trout and the steak frites are delicious. Makes it difficult to decide what to order! I always love their cocktails as well. The French 77 is excellent. We split the chocolate mousse for dessert- that was amazing.
We had a lovely time - the food and service were excellent and so was the ambience. Good value for money and delectable dishes. Will definitely go back again soon!
A lovely little restaurant with excellent French cuisine and service. My son, who is a fussy eater, loves the confit duck and it, like the other dishes on the menu, was prepared to perfection. The adjoining bar is a treat as well.
Birthday dinner! Good occasion
This place slaps!! In the best way!! Had a dope trout with some sauteed capers and it was honestly some of the best fish I've ever had. My sister for the pain perdu which is like an orangey french toast? The citrus was so yum and it was all crispy and warm and YUM— makes it so you can have more than just a few bites. Homemade bread to start (no charge!) is killer and super super fresh. Overall my fave place to brunch in Georgetown— shocked it wasn't more crowded
Met well at the door. Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable bartender. Excellent table service- friendly, helpful and particularly well versed in what was on the menu, while still giving us plenty of room to breathe. It was a perfect meal. The foods were well balanced and delicious. 10/10 do recommended and will return.
Never disappointed when I go to Chez Billy! The red wine and warm soup were perfect for a blustery day. The place was full and hopping over the holidays but that didn't impact service, which was efficient and friendly. There's a reason so many of us return again and again!
What a treasure this place is. Comfortable, quiet, lovely food (can’t beat their classic omelette, so creamy). My friends both had the trout and both thought it was perfect. We lingered and no one bothered us. The service was spot-in. Won’t wait so long for next visit.
A true gem with guaranteed great cuisine and attentive service.
A wonderful New Year Eve's celebration with lovely food and great wine pairings. I highly recommend this as well as an everyday meal--excellent!
Great service, great food, great atmosphere. Perfect for an anniversary dinner.
The best, one of very favorite DC restaurants. Excellent preparations and lovely atmosphere
Loved this spot & meal for our 1st wedding anniversary - we will be back!
This is now my favorite restaurant. It was elegant. Food was perfect and our waiter was helpful. Easy to talk and hear even though seated near others. Trout and steak frites outstanding
Just moved to DC and have been trying to find a staple French restaurant as good as the go-to classics in NYC - Chez Billy Sud is the first in DC to actually fit the bill! The plates are as delightful as the atmosphere. I highly recommend.
Absolutely perfect dining experience. Top notch service and every aspect of the food was perfect and some of the best I’ve had in the city.
Fantastic as always! Beef cheeks were superb. Cozy and inviting.... great place to dine in Georgetown.
I have tried Chez Billy before and had a terrible service experience.
I agreed to trying again with a friend for lunch.
We each ordered Onion Soup and a salad and a late to share.
Our soup was brought to the table in a fairly timely manner but after the bowls were cleared we waited and waited and waited some more.
I got fed up, called over a manager and asked for our bill.
They comped the soup, to their credit, but we waited for more than 25 minutes for salads that never came.
I have no desire to try it again.
Charming, delicious on a perfect winter birthday celebration. The escargot appetizer and the trout entree were particularly delicious. I particularly appreciated the lighting that was low and inviting. We dined her in the summer on the patio in very warm evening and both experiences were magical.
Andre was superb ! We luved the b'day drink treats and the candle atop the choc. mouse.
Wonderful server, great food as always. I had the duck confit which was an outstanding version of the classic dish. My husband had braised beef cheeks which was perfect for a cold wintry night. We also really appreciated that when my husband asked about a particular wine by the glass, the server graciously offered offered a tasting of his suggestions before making a selection.
