Exceptional. The dining room, the ambiance, the meal, the service - bravo! Thank you, Debra and Chez Billy Sud, for a delightful evening.
A great little intimate and delicious restaurant. Steak and mussels were wonderful, as was the Caesar salad.
Just a perfect date night spot. Cosy bistro seating. Super friendly staff. Tasty dishes, both seasonal offerings and French classics. We will be back!
Great experience. Service and food were fantastic. Great atmosphere for date night.
Chez Billy was amazing!! I can’t say enough good things about our experience. The food was amazing. The ambiance is perfect, very quaint and chic. Will be back !!
Fantastic food and ambience! We will definitely come back.
In my opinion, it's the best overall French restaurant in DC. Yes, better than Le Dip. But please don't go, as I don't want it to get any harder for me to get a table here. Service is always attentive and professional.
The three of us had trout, tuna, and salmon, all was excellent.
Beautiful little French restaurant in Georgetown with gorgeous interior and perfect menu. Went to brunch and every detail is magnificent! Service attentive and friendly. The Niçoise salad was delicious and be sure to sample the beignets.
Chez Billy Sud is a true neighborhood restaurant that works well for either a casual night out or a more special date night. The food is always on point and the execution is true to the classics. Nothing is 're-imagined' or 'interpreted', just technically cooked extremely well. Our server (whose name I didn't catch, regretfully) was tremendous and seemed to be handling 1/2 the dining room incredibly graciously. We had drinks at 3 different restaurants during our night, and the ones at Chez billy Sud were the most consistently executed and well-balanced. Consistency is a sadly overlooked attribute when everyone wants to be 'new' but Chez Billy Sud continues to exemplify the idea that care and execution are the real drivers of success. We'll absolutely be back, especially for the patio and rose in the summer / spring.
This is an 'casual' vibe but upscale French restaurant, elegant, charming, with impeccable service. The food is outstanding. Highly recommended.
Dining experience was spectacular as always. Party included a 90 year old. Service was courteous. Noise level low as we were seated in small front room having few tables, and tables wee well spaced.
We came for lunch at 12:30 on Saturday and it was EXTREMELY noisy. It finally quieted down later.
My salad was good once they cooked the tuna a little more. The waiter could have been more attentive. He seemed to disappear at times.
We thought it was odd that they don't offer espresso or cappuccino. Maybe simplicity is better for them, but we thought it was a bit inhospitable. He said there were so many coffee places nearby... Not a big problem.
Overall, it was a very nice lunch.
This was a wonderful evening out from the warm bread served with the salads and appetizers to the complimentary champagne that came with dessert (the attentive waitress had figured out there was a birthday being celebrated). The mussels were particularly delicious, and my husband and I loved the sea bass with fennel. Lovely.
Amazing experience - perfect table!
Wonderful restaurant. Great food in great area. Service was excellent too.
The croque madame was good, not great--too bread-y and not enough gooey stuff. But the caesar salad was one of the best I've had in a long time, the burger and fries were very good, and the cotes-du-Rhone--new to the menu as our wonderful server told us--was a lovely choice. The sweet, light-filled and calm ambiance of the restaurant is a welcome respite in trying times, and we'll definitely go back.
Excellent dinner for a celebration with my mother!
The beef cheeks were great! My wife steak was ordered medium rare and came medium to well done. A new steak prepared which was burnt on the bottom but cooked to medium rare. The frites were a complete failure. This is a high end restaurant. Those frites should have never made it past the kitchen doors. They were limp, oily and had no seasoning. At that point the wine bottle was finished and I had finished my meal so we decided to not complain further but pay the bill and go home.
The food is not consistent. I have come here a few times and generally order the same dishes like the trout and the escargot each visit. The fish was totally over cooked and dry this time. It seemed deep fried and flavorless. In the past it was not this way. The escargot dish was mostly puff pastry and mushrooms, barely any escargot (and for $22?!). The staff is a bit fussy so good luck trying to get something redone.
Traditional bistro style menu with offerings that few restaurants continue to provide. Very fine meal.
Don’t usually take the time to write reviews but we had such a great time last night celebrating my fathers 72nd birthday I felt compelled to share our experience. Place was a little noisier than expected but it’s hard to get super quiet during peak dinner hours and my dad is hard of hearing anyhow. Food was amazing, we enjoyed the Allen Brothers steak, Duck confit and Ahi Tuna for entrees. The chicken liver mousse and the country pate’s for appetizers were amazing. Service was impeccable, I can’t remember our waiters name for the life of me but he was a young 23 year old blonde guy and was super personable and on top of his game all night, very attentive but also not overbearing. My husband and I are in the service industry as well and we were super impressed with everything. Props to Chez Billy and the entire FOH & BOH staff for a wonderful night to remember. :)
Absolutely. We have been there several times and this was our best experience yet. The food was really divine, and the service was pleasant and we did not feel rushed. Too bad the street is so torn up making it difficult to come and go.
Mom was in town visiting and wanted a nice place to take her. She loved it
