Pleasantly surprised when they told us it was 1/2 price wine night. The bottle we bought was the same price as at the liquor store! Great New Orleans style menu. Shrimp and grits was awesome. Great time on the nice patio.

Food was great. We went on a Sunday night so it was not packed at all. Recommending their oysters and mussels - fresh and nicely done. However, I would prefer to come for happy hour instead of dinner as they don't have many choices in their entree menu.

My wife and i love the food at Chewies and are monthly regulars for Sunday afternoon buck-a-shucks. Unfortunately, by the time we arrive (5:40 pm) we were told that the $1 beach oysters were sold out but that $2 premium oysters were available. We ordered a dozen and our food at the same time. We considered walking out during our meal because the oysters arrived and were consumed by 6, but our meals did not get delivered until 6:35! Apologies were offered and our desserts were comped, but the wait was much much too long. We'll seriously consider whether we go back, despite our love of oysters and Chewies' menu.

We went on Sunday evening for our big plate of buck-a-shuck oysters, followed by a meal and the oysters, the meals and the service were all good -- just like always. Love the oysters, the Southern Fried Chicken and the salads.

I came here with my gfs for Saturday brunch after their spa service to celebrate their birthday as I've heard that their food was good. Our initial server was really nice and had great energy. The food was decent (although I found my chicken was a tad on the greasy side) and were enjoying our day catching up as we do not often have the opportunity to. Upon finishing our food, a different server came over and set the bill on the table without us asking for it and started to clear the plates (mind you, it was not busy and no one was waiting at the entrance). The server did not even ask if we wanted anything else before that. I then asked the server if he could bring 3 forks as I had brought mini birthday cakes. He gave me a look and was confused. I then advised that I brought cake for us and then a light bulb went off in his head but he did not seem impressed. Once we were done the dessert, the server was helping the table next to us. I waited patiently and as I thought he was done and he looked over and made eye contact, I politely asked for the terminal. He gave me a stare down and with attitude said yeah...in a sec. I don't know what made him assume that I wanted it asap as that was not my intent and just wanted to let him know I was ready to pay the bill. He then made a remark that we could not hear to the table he was assisting and the patrons laughed. I thought this was completely unacceptable and unprofessional. When he came over with the terminal, he just took my card and handed it to me without saying a word. As I was paying, I took cash out to tip. When he walked away, he turned around and said "AWESOME". I guess he thought I was not going to tip. The time between that till we left, he kept glaring at our table and shook his head. As we started to leave, he came over to clean up the table and was being so sarcastic saying thank you for coming and hope we enjoyed the service. I ended up giving the tip to our original server and advised him the reason

We really enjoyed the happy hour oysters. Our main courses were excellent too - The fried chicken was tender, crispy and not at all greasy. And the oyster po' boy was very tasty. Service was friendly, prompt.

The food is very good, comfort-style. The general atmosphere is great and the servers are very nice and cheerful. We were here with friends and we all had a great time!

Our waiter wasn't interested in serving us. This place seems to enjoy the local crowd. There was nothing wrong with the food. Wouldn't return back here. You're a nobody unless you're from the neighbourhood

We spent several hours at Chewies on Saturday am for a friends birthday brunch. Our server was hilarious! We had a really great time and will definitely be back!
