   One of my favorite restaurants in Asheville. The food is always exceptional. The seating is good for small groups or date. During the last visit our service was basic at best. Usually the staff will make recommendations or substitutions as needed.

   Enjoyed the evening. The restaurant is a good one with a great location. Food, service and atmosphere were fine.

   Very average and somewhat weird combinations. Example: potato chips and honey mustard dressing, shrimp and grits (tails left on) in tomatoe sauce, mashed potatoes mixed with corn meal. Sound delicious? It wasn't.

   Loved Chestnut! Nice ambiance as you move toward back of restaurant. Excellent bar selections and quality cuisine at reasonable prices. Service from Brianna was also excellent. We were able to have quiet conversation with our guests. Would definitely recommend!

   Visiting with wife we stopped by on Monday December 26th for lunch. Lots of tourist so the place was crowded. So glad we had a reservation with open table. They sat us right away. The bar tender was our waiter and he never showed up. Manager eventually came over & apologized for the waiting. He took care of our orders from that point on. Lobster bisque was very good. The soup of the day was just okay (coconut squash cream soup). Had to ask for silverware to another waiter. Grilled chicken salad was good, greens were fresh. The flat iron steak my wife ordered was okay. They added A1 sauce to it which we don't like. The A1 sauce should be optional. That was disappointing. Interestingly the steak came with fries. I would have liked another side with it. With so many good other restaurants in Asheville, we would definitely explore other places next time. Our experience was good but not the greatest.

   The food was very good. I had the kale calamari salad (very fresh), and it was excelent. The one thing they should be working on it, its the service. Its is unsophiticaded.

   Vacation in Asheville. I Read about it online and it sounded good. The waitress was so kind and attentive and fun. The food was outstanding and the idea of the medium plates is a great one. One of our best meals ever and with 2 cocktails and 2 glasses of wine total bill was $107!

   I was very disappointed in our experience at Chestnut. It was my birthday and chose this place because of the excellent reviews. Our table was right by the host stand and bar- not quite what I was thinking for a romantic birthday dinner, but someone has to get sat at that table. Our server was never around and saw the food runners more than her, not ideal when you want to order drinks. I ordered 3 courses and were brought out back to back- we were served all 3 courses within 30 minutes... we weren't even done with our previous course before the next one was at our table. At one point my husband was still eating (chewing) and someone asked if they could take his plate. It made the dinner feel rushed and wasn't enjoyable. The food was ok, but was not impressed by the overall experience of dining here.

    Terrific evening, great food service and a superb wine list! Environment much nicer then pictures. A very popular place with good reason.
