Combination of shrimp, flounder, scallops and crab cake, broiled or fried
Crab Cakes Chestnut Hill
Perhaps the finest crab cakes on the strand. Filled with fresh local lump crab meat, seasoned just right and dusted in japanese bread crumbs
Great food, and even better service.. Love the Shrimp and Grits, and Crab cakes are the bomb..
Food was excellent. King crab was a great choice. Already split and cooked well.
Beautiful window seat! Loved the food.
Everything was excellent but. ......food left much to be desired. My wife ordered scallops came out totally burnt and were replaced. My dinner day cooling on the table. Veal medallions were half excellent snd half tough.
Met all of our expectations and more. Peaceful setting, above average food, personal service...
Brought my family here since dinner on Easter was so very good. Unfortunately this time my daughter and I ordered the same meal and it was so over cooked we could not eat it. Salads and appetizers were good. And my husband and granddaughter also enjoyed their meals. My daughter was so upset because I had bragged how great the food was here. I will go back as I don’t stop going to a restaurant over one bad meal.
Got the Seafood casserole and split it with my wife using the second plate option. It was delicious and plentiful for the two of us.
This was the first time at this restaurant. We were seated promptly. The decor is dated, with 1980s wallpaper, but the view of the inlet and the frolicking turtles was very nice. Our waiter wore no mask, but was attentive. Luckily we are vaccinated. Martini was delicious, as was the complimentary warm bread basket. The salad was really tasty with a homemade house honey lime dressing. My friend had lemon piccata and loved it. I was underwhelmed with the beef medallions with a crab cake topper and bernaise. The crab cake was mush from the bernaise, the steak was average, and the vegetable sides were bland. I would give it another shot, but skip the crab cake.
We were in Myrtle Beach for a week and this was my favorite restaurant. It is a hidden gem- the service was great and the food was very good. Our group had fried scallops sweet and not over cooked, fried oysters, lightly fried, beef tips which were tender and juicy. The small plates were still very generous and the sides were very fresh and tasty.
Seafood here is fresh, prepared just right and delicious. House dressing is great and martinis are outstanding. We always come here when in Myrtle Beach...we will be back!
Food was excellent, view was great and service was great.
The food and service were terrific! I will definitely eat here again!
Great dining experience! I would definitely go back again.
Excellent food and service! The blackened shrimp was unbelievable!
After several attempts at finding a nice medium priced seafood. Chestnut Hill was wonderful, nice ambiance good food and perfect service. We have found that most are short of staff, but these folks hustled and all was good.
Excellent service and food. Been many times and same quality every time.
Great stuffed shrimp and excellent rolls and salad. We will dine here again.
Crabcakes were awful, fried seafood greasy. Went there years ago, food was good. What happened?
Lovely restaurant with excellent food. We were in the ‘library ‘ room, which was very comfortable. Would highly recommend this restaurant and it is one that we will go back to anytime we’re in MrytleBeach
Unfortunately just wasn’t a good experience. It’s an absolutely beautiful restaurant and the food wasn’t bad. But our server was very green and management, once informed should have done more to fix the issues we were having. We were there for an important milestone and it just soured the whole occasion.
Our visit was "just ok" but with the prices they charge, I was expecting more. We went here in June 2020. Food was good but we did think it was odd that they don't give a selection of veggies/potatoes. It's whatever they set for the day. Ironically, in April 2021, it's the same veggie/potato of the day. Seriously, time to change it up. Food was good but not great. Service was ok. Atmosphere felt more like a fish camp than a fine dining experience. With so many other restaurants to chose from in the area, we will not be going back here on our next trip to the beach.
Fish was over cooked
Atmosphere and decor is old
Seafood had very little taste
Derby pie was very good
Overall value was not what I was expecting. Based on level of people in the restaurant, I’m not the only one that’s had the same experience.
We got to watch the sunset over a small lake adjacent to the Chestnut Hill restaurant. This in itself made spending an evening here worthwhile. We even saw an alligator swim by several times. The food was very good, and the service was prompt and friendly. Even the wine list pricing was quite reasonable.
Wonderful, would definitely go back again. If I get back to myrtle beach it will be my first stop.
We had great meals when visiting but this restaurant blew the rest of them out of the water! The food was beyond amazing and the service was impeccable! I can’t wait to go back
Thank you for taking the time to review us and for giving us 5 stars. We love it when our guests are happy.
We were visiting the area for the first time and heard this was a great place to eat. We had such a lovely time. We were seated by the windows overlooking the water. We saw lots of turtles and even a gator! Our dinner of the Mixed grill and Seafood platter was amazing. Market price was around $30 and was worth every penny. They had a great wine list and bottle prices were extremely reasonable. The service was wonderful and the atmosphere reminded us of a Wisconsin supper club. We would definitely come back the next time we visit and would recommend highly.
Stopped in for dinner on a Friday evening, got there around 6 pm and was able to get a table. Great views of the pond right outside of the dinning room. Our table was really happy with everything from the service to the food. Son had the King Crab Legs - they were great, came already split and the price was good for how much you got. I had a salmon special with crab on the top, very good - would definitely order it again. My wife had the Seafood Fettuccini and it was great as well. Great experience- will definitely go back
We were delighted. Been coming down to Myrtle Beach for 15 years. Can’t believe we didn’t find this place sooner. Good steak and seafood options. Great place to celebrate a birthday or anniversary.
Food was bland. You do not get a choice of potato and vegetable. Everybody gets the same potato and vegetables they choose to serve. The rolls, the vegetables, the boiled red potatoes, the scallops were all bland. The potatoes were even old and pasty like. We recently moved here and want to try new restaurants. We very very disappointed considering all the other great reviews. Maybe it was just us? We like tasty food.
Hi Arlene, so sorry you were so disappointed in our food. Everyone has their own personal taste buds and all I can say is we try extremely hard to please everyone. Hope you come back and give us another shot, and try our blackened scallops, they are fantastic!
Pleasant food was very good some dishes better than others. wait for service was a little longer than expected but not terribly long.
Everybody loved their meals. The waiter was outstanding.
The food was wonderful and the atmosphere and service was impeccable. However, when the waiter read off their specials for the night and I chose the steak, I NEVER in my wildest dreams thought that a sirloin steak would be $49!!!! That's outrageous. I paid it because it was my fault for not asking but, the waiter should've told us prices as he was talking about the "specials".
Hi Diana, Thank you for taking the time to give us a 4 star review. I will address this with the staff as they should always tell the price of the specials so that guests don't get surprised when they get their bill. And the steak you ordered was a 22oz. PRIME Cowboy Ribeye that is why the price was $49, it is one of the best cuts of beef you can buy. Happy that you enjoyed the service and atmosphere and we hope to have you back again soon.
Perfect first night in Myrtle -food was awesome . Loved watching the turtles
We have been eating there for years and the food has always been awesome!!! The only criticism -- and it's not really a criticism, just a suggestion -- it might be time for a renovation. Time to get rid of the bookshelf wall paper :)
So glad we went here again. Food was delicious we were given a table by the window as requested. It kind of got off our regular places but no more. We will keep coming back.
Loved our dinner, but was disappointed that they didn't have our reservation on their list. Luckily, they were able to fit us in for our Easter dinner. Delicious food!! Highly recommend!
I liked the relaxed feeling. Service was feel timed.
Sunday Buffet is a must for your next trip. Good Southern cooking at its best. The chicken salad and sweet potato casserole are just like my grandmother used to make. Delicious herb biscuits. Salad bar features broccoli salad, pasta salad, smoked salmon, ahi tuna, and apple salad just to name a few. The waffles look simple but there is a brown sugar detail that is sweet and crunchy but not overwhelming. Too many items to list here but definitely something for everyone. Small dessert servings make it possible to sample several. Very conscientious about Covid protocol. Buffet setup worked great.
We did the Easter brunch and it was wonderful!! So many choices and the food was delicious!!
The brunch was absolutely awesome. We will be back again.
