   Being my wife's birthday, I requested a lit candle on our dessert using the reservation form special request box. The servers were attentive enough to have read and understood the request. The "candle" turned out to be quite spectacular--a sparkling torch-like flame 2 feet long. My wife and I enjoyed it immensely. Our server presented it so professionally and confidently that we were not concerned in the least for our pyrotechnic safety. Also, the noise level was high enough that we decided to skip out for another restaurant. When we explained that to the hostess, she offered a quieter, semi-private room for us to dine in and celebrate the birthday. We changed our mind, and had a delightful meal and dessert in a much quieter setting. The food was excellent. The servers were very accommodating to our dietary restrictions and were willing to make substitutions. The dessert under the "candle" was the flourless chocolate cake--excellent as well.

   Perfect. More of a stop for a quick bite. Food was good but not a fine dining. Nice spot for lunch more I think. Prices were fair. Small menu. The service was excellent.

   We went for Mother’s day dinner with the family. Calamari was extremely tough, hardly touted it. No questions asked by our server. Chicken was extremely tough, It was noticed by our server, but replacement salad was unacceptable as our server did not listen to the request. Bill was split by 2 people and server charged full amount plus half to one card. A call was made for correction, but no call back. Extremely loud, beautiful place but definitely not intimate. Will not return.

   Made reservations weeks in advance for 7:15pm for after a graduation. We didn’t get seated until nearly 7:40pm after being told we were going to be sat several times. While we waited, we attempted to order a drink at the bar. This took nearly 15 mins before a bartender even acknowledged us. Once we sat, we submitted an appetizer that arrived at 8:30pm. We did not have any service or the ability to at least submit our meals while we waited for the appetizers. Overall, the service was very poor. Nice workers, but very disappointing way to celebrate the special occasion I informed them about weeks prior when I made the reservation.

    Went with my family of 4 in a Friday evening, we were able to be seated right away. Drinks and appetizer cane right out followed by delicious bread. I had the Haddock Balsamico- amazing!! My husband had the Steak Morrell which he said was also fantastic. The kids had spaghetti & meatball and a kids pizza. Great portions, service and presentation!

    We started eating here during travels between Albany and points west. We’ve always loved the food and service. This visit did not disappoint! The service is outstanding. We really appreciated our attentive server Grace. The entire staff seems well trained and capable. The food and wine selections are impressive. We started with our usual, one of the hallmark dishes, Greens Morelle, sometimes known as Utica Greens. So delicious! We also had the meatballs and ricotta appetizer. Wow! The meatballs and sauce were amazing, and the ricotta was astonishing. Dinners of Chicken Riggies and Chicken Salvatore were excellent. I could go on and on. Ultimately I’ll say this - we love Chesterfield’s Tavolo. So much so that we actually drove there from Albany for our anniversary dinner. And we are happy that we did!

    For a party of 2, we sat and waited for about 15 minutes before someone even came to the table. After that it was just longer and longer wait for everything. The sever was extremely nice and the food was fantastic. The wait time for everything is why we won’t be coming back. It’s a shame because the food is top notch.

    First time here and loved it overall. Not sure if they were short staffed like many places are, it didn’t seem it, but service was slow. The food was phenomenal, the bread and sauce they serve while you wait is so good it’s worth going to just for that. Would absolutely go back, delicious.

    This is my second awful experience at Tavolo; sad since the I never had anything bad to say about the original Chesterfields on Bleeker St. This time, it was Easter Sunday and we made a reservation for 3 at 3pm to go to Tavolo for a nice family dinner. We arrived on time and were shown to our table, walking past a $40 per head buffet table with signs that said "Easter Buffet 11am to 3pm". We were given a wine list, but no menus to order food. The server arrived and we asked about menus. She told us that they were only serving the buffet today (which was not mentioned on their website; she said she thought it might have been on the facebook page). I noted that it was already 3pm so isn't the buffet closing? The reply was that they would keep it open a few more minutes so we could get something to eat before they shut it down. (As she was saying this, I saw two workers collecting serving platters from the buffet and taking them into the kitchen.) I said, but what about people who had later reservations? (The website had offered me seating options right into the evening.) Her response was that they were closed as of 3pm so there were no other reservations for the day. So, how nice of an Easter Dinner are you going to have at $40 a head for one pass at the buffet table that was already being dismantled, choosing from food selections that had probably not been refreshed in a while since the buffet was over and nobody makes fresh food for a closing buffet. The restaurant would be closing around us while we hurried to eat these leftovers so they could close up and go. It was irresponsible that Tavolo did not update their website with important information like Easter Sunday hours and buffet, and further wrong for them to have accepted reservations that they clearly had no intention of supporting. I've tried twice to like this place and was grossly disappointed in their food, service, and professionalism each time. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL!!

    Family went here for an Easter luncheon. The staff was amazing , from the time we entered to the time we departed! The food was absolutely delicious! The restaurant is beautiful and well kept! I would definitely recommend anyone to check it out. They won’t be disappointed!! I will definitely be returning!!

    I eat at Tavolo several times a year while at SPTC and they do a great job with accommodation large groups. The service is excellent and the food is good and prices are reasonable.

    We had a good lunch at Tavolo….food was quite tasty! Service was slow, however….not our waitress, she was attentive and good to work with, but the food was very slow getting to our table, and the place was not busy.

    We were from "out of town" and went specifically for the Utica Greens and Chicken Riggies. I had heard about these regional dishes but never had the real thing. They did not disappoint. Add a pint of Utica Club and you have the whole Utica experience. Service was awesome.

    Made reservations for an early dinner. Outstanding menu selections. The drink special was a Prickly Pear Mule that was one of the best mixed drinks we’ve ever had. The Calamari appetizer was also outstanding. All food arrived timely and hot. The sever was spot on the whole evening. Definitely would return.

    Always a great meal at Tavolo. Normally, the noise level is lower than moderate, but it was Valentines weekend, and it was fabulous to see a locally owned and operated long-time family restaurant thriving once again after the pandemic struggle.
