Walking into Cherry Circle Room at the Chicago Athletic Association is a bit like stepping into the past. The resta
Old school fine dining at its modern best.
The servers were amazing. They made up feel so welcome and the food was fabulous
Coming from France visiting Chicago and meeting with my son for his 20 yo anniversary. I wanted to find a great restaurant for this special occasion. I definitely found it! Excellent food, very creative cuisine with lots of savors, different crispy tastes with very qualitiave ingredients. Everything was excellent from the foie gras, the Duck main meal and the desserts (chocalate dessert for my son offered for his anniversary - much appreciated!! .. and an Apple crumble very original and tasty for me). Theey offered us a glass of Prosseco for me + apple sparkling juice for my son, again very elegant gesture + they brought a little candle on the dessert, but made it discrete. Very good service and manners in a cosy atmosphere, we loved it my son and I and had a very good moment we will remember!
A very Chicago-spirit place. Great food, interesting cocktails, incredible guests around.
The old school clubby vibe with new school foodie approach is the perfect setting for those meals that mix business and pleasure. The booths with the high backs keep the conversations inside intimate, while the seats at the bar provide a great survey of the room. Best steak tartar and caesar salad I've had most anywhere, plus a fun 'table side' cocktail program at dinner. Menu is nicely arranged, service is very good, and the wine list borders on overwhelming. (Sommelier will help with picks!) It's also fun that it is hard to find the Cherry Circle Room inside the hotel; you're pretty sure you need a secret knock by the time you find the door. (Your colleagues will start to wonder what you're getting them into.) Prices are on the high side but not stratospheric for fine dining. You can order to impress or you can value engineer the proceedings; you won't be disappointed either way.
Service felt rushed. Both waiter and person clearing. Food was excellent
The service was great and the food was out of this world. Part of me regretted that our date consisted of more than just enjoying the food at drinks at Cherry Circle Room. Our server knew that we had a 7:30 show and managed our meal perfectly to give us a little extra time to get to the theater. It was perfect.
I highly recommend the caviar toast!
Great location near Millennium Park. Food was very good but portion sizes were slightly small. Incredible atmosphere and decor -- fun to walk around and soak it all in.
This is one of the best restaurants I have been to in Chicago - ambience, old-world charm, service, menu, and value!
Wonderful food, drinks and service. We’ll be back.
Cherry Circle's location and late kitchen closing make it an attractive destination for dining after a performance at Symphony Center.
We love this restaurant. The food is exceptional and the service is just right-nice, familiar, courteous, but not over the top. The room is very nice and the evening lighting is very warm and comfortable.
We enjoyed the food and the service was good. They have a decent wine selection, but the music was loud and annoying. We commented on the music and our server said it was an eclectic selection, mostly it just sounded like bad music played too loud.
Hard to find in the Chicago athletic club, but well worth it. Ordered lamb for two. The best we have ever eaten!
Great service. Good wine. Interesting food. The staff was friendly and engaging.
Outstanding service , food and drink as well as a nice and vibrant place to dine.
Outstanding service, food, ambience. Wow, what a gem.
My experience at the Cherry Circle Room was remarkable. Tucked away in the outstanding Chicago Athletic Association, this restaurant is perfect for an intimate date or cozy gathering with friends. Surrounded by hand-crafted leather booths, a historic rap-around bar and relics that harken back to the Speakeasy era, you're bound to have an unforgettable experience. The wait staff are warm, friendly and extremely knowledgeable on not only the history of the room but the sumptuous menu available to you morning, noon and evening. Enjoy the intricate details of the napkins and china as you sip on a cup of fair-trade local coffee. I had the pleasure of a breakfast experience and very much savored the Baked Eggs while my fiance ordered the Shrimp and Grits that were equally delicious. Do yourself a favor and indulge in a breakfast pastry. And if you're there in the evening, be sure to order a drink from the extensive options available to you from the bar. Whether you are seeking a romantic breakfast date or spirited evening drink, try the Cherry Circle Room. Your expectations are likely to be exceeded.
Truly one of the better dining experiences I have ever had. They made my girlfriend’s birthday special without being over the top. Amazing service throughout, and our server Jamie was outstanding. My highest recommendation.
We went to the Cherry Circle Room for a nice meal before seeing Hamilton. I could not get a reservation for a table, only the bar, but that was fine. The cocktails and wine were excellent. The food was very good and I would nearly say excellent but I believe the seasoning was just a bit heavy on the salt. Although my date said his steak was probably in the top five of any he has every had. I had the chicken and it was unbelievably moist and flavorful, the sauce that was served with it but just a bit salty or my taste. We were also given a small complimentary tasting of the broccoli risotto, which was a very nice touch. It was good, but once again, a bit too salty. My dining partner agreed on that assessment also. Lastly, on the service, it was OK, but we were never checked on and had to flag the bartender on a few occasions to order more drinks and ask for a desert menu. I don't want to be constantly bugged, but I also would like a more attentive staff.
In a word, strange. I’d been there for drinks, but not dinner. The hostess made no sense...3 times said one of us should walk on each side of her down the aisle, tho there was only room for 2, and why on each side of her...? We finally guessed that she meant one of us should walk in each aisle flanking the row of tables. Didn’t offer to take our coats, and then didn’t explain why we got no coat check (they do it by table number...NOT a good idea of you’re checking a pricey coat!) They had flashlights on the table because you’re thrown into darkness at 6pm. We didn’t need them, but the waitstaff did, and they had to lean over us to hear our order due to the crazy loud wood-paneled room. Thumping drums were all you could hear of the music(just turn it off...it’s a lively place without it!) The waitress was good, the sommelier gave a good recommendation off the (pricey) wine list, and the appetizers and main course were very, very good.
Excellent leg of lamb! And great cocktails. Will be back.
This is special place. Don't miss it. I slid into our booth with my wife and said "Alright. This is the kind of place we should be going to more often." The mood and ambience in the room was classy yet comfortable. And the service was impeccable. We hit it off immediately with our server who was quite helpful with the great variety of unique cocktails they offer. We just had time for a couple drinks but we were very pleased with our selections. We will be back. Soon.
My brunch with my daughter on her 16th was perfect. Tom, our server was awesome and the support staff beyond attentive. Thank you!
I took my boyfriend here for his birthday, and he loved it just as much as I did. It has a beautiful, mid-century feel, with lots of dark wood, leather, and vintage touches. I definitely feels like the men’s athletic club that it once was- it felt masculine and my boyfriend loved the stylings. We went for brunch and while the serving sizes weren’t huge, they were heartier than most “hip” brunch places you’ll see. The service was classy and friendly, and there was a great wine and spirits menu. After we ate, we walked around the whole facility and checked out the other room- the drawing room, which is really just the hotel lobby, is an awesome place as well, with a more limited drink nsanack selection, but a really cool old world vibe. We will definitely be coming back here. It’s a great place for a special occasion, especially for a man, in my opinion.
High Friends 40 yr reunion
Service was excellent. We even got some history lessons. Food was wonderful! We had skate and chateaubr
Food was good, but for $300 for 2, not blow me away good.
Aleya was a fabulous server, and she was a charming professional! The dark chocolate Creme Brûlée was sublime and the wines divine.
Wait staff and bar tender fantastic - knowledgeable - timely and terrific personalities. Atmosphere is very unique and comfortable. Terrific drink menu - mixology strong. Dinner menu is well edited and solid. Highly recommend.
Lunch date with my wife. Atmosphere was nice. Noise level was good for a nice conversation. Food was very good.
Great food and service!
Love coming here - menu is amazing, and waitstaff are attentive and super well informed.
Fun...the foccacia is amazing!
This is a fabulous place, with warm, personal service and excellent creative cuisine. The table-side cocktail cart was a treat. It was a special occasion, and they took wonderful care of us. I would return anytime I find myself in Chicago.
A very cozy atmosphere that makes you feel one is in another place or time. My friend had the duck which was excellent, and I had the chicken, which was very good. Pricewise it is not for the faint of heart.
Perfect if you are on a business meeting. Big booths give enough privacy to discuss work.
My wife and I went for their prime triple cheese burger because we heard some rave reviews about it. We were very impressed with how good the burger really was. Just an all around great burger and no one will be disappointed with ordering it. We loved the ambiance and the service was Great! We will definitely be back again soon!
