Marco was great and attentive despite being busy!
A wonderful restaurant i. my neighborhood.
The appetizers were really good, but all three entrees- The NY strip, Baja Burrito and The CG burger were pretty average to say the least.
Service was great. Food was "Hit and Miss" Ordered the Salmon. It didnt look appetizing. Looked overcooked, but tasted great. Ordered Mac and Cheese... Not good at all. Crabcakes were OK.
Food was great, service was slow. We enjoyed the time however, to be out chatting. Opening again for indoor dining allows for this-we are all rusty from shutdowns and now have to do things differently to follow distance guidelines etc.
Thank you Geoff - delicious!
Our server Rupert was not too attentive to his tables at all. I watched all of his tables, including us, flag him down to place our orders or ask for refills. We arrived for our reservation and was promptly seated at 5:30p and was not greeted until 5:50p (just to drop off glasses of water and then he quickly walked away) and finally placed our order at 6:12p. Our main dishes were ok, but the honey sriracha wings were amazing! As a former waitress I understand some situations can arise and I'm totally patient (especially while we're still in a pandemic) but if you want people to come out and support your business and keep it thriving, please make sure your wait staff are pleasant and attentive. Towards the end of the meal his mood lightened and he was chatty with us...but at this point we just wanted to pay and leave. We may come back next time we're in DC and try this place out again.
Experienced bad service and bad food

Our entire experience was great and the food was even better. This restaurant has definitely in my top 2!
It was our first time at Chef Geoff’s West End. Our food was delicious, our server was great, the establishment was clean and classy, and most of all we felt good about how much we spent. It was worth it.
Did not stay at the restaurant. Service was non existent.
Very nice to be out and socially distanced!
Everyone was very nice. Love chef Geoff’s
Amazing experience at Chef Geoff’s West End! It’s always great. Every time my wife and I come to D.C (every 4 months)., we come to Chef Geoff’s and every time our meal and service is beyond excellent!!! I wish we lived in D.C., we would be eating here multiple times a week!
What a terrible experience. Arriving for our meal we were greeted by a grumpy host. We booked for outdoor dining due to COVID and there were at least 15 heaters outside. He responded they "were not working" and then proceeded to walk away, eventually seating us outside without heat. When the server finally showed up he asked if we wanted anything "other than water" we replied first we'd like the heaters lit. He messed with it (clearly not knowing how to use it) and audibly cursed! Never got it lit, then went to "find the manager to light it". After waiting a bit longer we left. We were so shocked at how we were treated and the attitudes of the staff. Just terrible and totally unprofessional.
Good example of dining safely during Covid. Great table separation, social distancing and service. Food was great.
Food and service were outstanding! Really appreciated the socially distanced table options outside and inside. We started with the calamari and wings. Both delicious and the sauces that accompanied them were made in house! 😍 Our entrees were on point as well. I had the spicy Caesar salad with shrimp. The shrimp were cooked perfectly and well seasoned. My dining companions had rigatoni with sausage, the chicken sandwich and the house salad. All were happy with their selections. To end we enjoyed a seasonal Hot Buttered Rum. 😋
Great food and a pleasant atmosphere.
Such nice people and great food.
Good cafe fare, well prepared. Excellent service. Appropriate COVID precautions. Almost no other diners. Nice experience.
We had great service and to die for burgers.
Love Chef Geoff's and have missed having a downtown DC location. The 22nd and M St., NW location is great with many tables (and heaters) outside and well-spaced comfortable seating inside. Great menu and service. Can't wait to go back! Highly recommend.
Chef Geoff's has great food but because of covid-19 not such a great job on the dining room look and feel. Some restaurants have really done a nice job keeping the dining room inviting looking and warm and friendly. Chef Geoff's was an average dining experience but the food was good.
My husband and I had 5:30 reservations so there were no crowds. It took three tries for them to get my hamburger order right which was a plain burger with lettuce, tomatoes and onions - no cheese or bacon. The final burger, the third one they brought me, was cold but I ate it cause I was hungry. Terrible service. We were not even offered complimentary drinks or dessert. Manager never came over to apologize. We live two blocks away and keep trying to support this neighborhood restaurant but it is subpar and everyone in the neighborhood knows it. It’s a pretty restaurant so one would hope it would be a good neighborhood spot but not so. Chef Geoff’s on New Mexico Avenue is very good though.
Service was really slow and disorganized. Folks who came in 10-15 minutes after us were immediately greeted, while we continued to be ignored (after having been seated by the host). We finally had to flag someone down to get menus and order. Food was mediocre.
I had a ok time experiencing this restaurant. I would give it 2.7 out of 5 stars.
Great meal and excellent service! Grilled chicken sandwich was delicious!
Crab cakes were superb as was the shrimp scampi and Ahi. The baby potatoes were excellent also.
Very friendly and great service
Seafood, burger, salad, cocktails all yum!
Give it a whirl
Unfortunately I had a bad experience here. I enjoyed the food, but the service wasn’t good at all. I placed an order for two appetizers that were never received, and after my drink was finished I wasn’t offered another. While waiting for the food to arrive 3 people one in a chef’s coat left the kitchen and had a cigarette outside, then returned to the kitchen and our food shortly arrived, this made me a little uneasy and I was ready to leave. Though I had my card on the table ready for payment, it took my server a while to come back to the table. The food was good enough to warrant giving their other location a try, I doubt I’ll return to the WestEnd location.
Very nice little restaurant but slow services as if they were cooking for one person at a tilme. Good deal on the one being included for Restaurant Week.
Drinks were strong, food was ok. Servers were kind and attentive.
The manager and staff were beyond rude to me and my friend. Seemed like they didn't want to serve us because the kitchen was about to close. The waitress told us to "hurry up" while ordering. After I complained to the manager about the waitress he responded by saying "what do you want me to do about it". This would never happen at the Chef Geoff's location in Tenley Town. The staff at the west end location is such a bad look for their brand. Someone needs to train them on the fundamentals.of customer service.
My sister and I dined at Chef Geoff’s during DC’s Summer Restaurant week and everything about our experience was amazing!! I’d recommend giving them a try and I’ll definitely be back another time!
Great customer service! Would definitely come again.
Got the BLT & A burger and only learned it didn’t come with an actual beef patty until I received it. Neither the waiter nor the menu let me know that one of the options under the burger section did not actually come with a patty. The food was fine and our waiter was just ok. I will not be coming back.
First time coming here for restaurant week, they were great and the food was amazing!
