As soon as Amy Chanta flung open the doors in 1989 Chat Thai became an instant smash hit with Sydney diners already familiar with Thailand and no appetite for compromising on ingredients, flavours, textures and aromas. Searching all across Sydney for the correct vegetables, herbs and sauces Amy was able to set herself apart through a stubborn dedication to reminding diners of their unforgettable food experiences on the streets of Bangkok.

Three decades later we are proud to continue Amy’s vision by adding organic vegetables from Boon Luck Farm to serve up authentic Thai dishes we ourselves want to eat. Unique flavours the Thai diaspora crave from the motherland but struggle to find outside of their own home cooking.

Delicious! One plate Wonders are excellent value for money; came out quick and hot but still tasting of wonderful restaurant quality. Crispy pork stayed crispy, jasmine rice fluffy and generous, perfect for sauce. Fun selection of drinks too, we hope to come back soon and work our way through the options

Good dinning experience as always especially it was not fully packed this time. I can have a quieter surroundings during the dining time.

The food was as delicious as always, with a lot of choices to choose from the menu. Service was hospitable. I have been to this restaurant many times and still I never find it disappointing.

I am blown away by everything at this restaurant. Hands down one of the best desserts I’ve had in my life and I eat out a lot! The variety is brilliant and the value for money in a city central restaurant is sensational. We even came back the consecutive night for more!

Chat Thai is one of my favourite Thai restaurants in Sydney and I always bring families and friends here. But this time the experience is not very good, the waitress ladies seem not happy and the service is poor. The food portion is getting smaller than before. The taste is worse than the previous. Overall, it s not a very good experience this time. ☹️

Fresh and zesty food, good quick service. Great place to eat before a show at the State Theatre!

Food was amazing as always, a little short staffed so service could be better and due to this we were charged for something we did not order
