Location great, great views and seating. Staff not so great, elevator operator to the top of a fancy restaurant should more enthusiastic not boring or tired of being in the elevator. Ordering of food from waiter to service was pathetic. Bread was offered but not brought. When we asked for it, reply- oh well it was burned. So okay are you going to bring another one? or when were you going to inform us if we didn't ask.? hum? not sure. Ordering of a 7 oz filet , 5 minutes later we are out of 7oz do you want the 9oz in it's place? sure we said. Later to find we were charged for the 9oz, because it was our fault they were out of the 7oz? ordering of desert: cherry something ice cream topped pie. You got the last one made special for some one else but they didnt actually take it after. The minute we tasted it we knew something was wrong didn't taste like any desert i have had or ever wanted. Needless to say overall food experience was not worth the $180.00 bill for two. This server could have had the presence of mind to get a manager or someone to say we apologize for your dissatisfaction or something. nope nada. Only bad experience in San Antonio for me on this trip.
Absolutely terrible! Never got our 4 entrees after 90 minutes...apps were not good. Hire some folks in the kitchen and more servers please and one of my guests was seasick from how fast the spinning is...do not go!
Everyone and everything was great, it is a little high but worth it for the view.
We made reservations for our 31st wedding anniversary a month in advance and requested a table by the window. We were seated on the upper tier. I told the hostess I reserved a window table, and she stated it would be a longer wait. We were hungry, so we decided to settle for the less desirable table. We placed our orders. They were out of the Mahi dish I ordered so I had to settle for swordfish, which was good, but not worth the price. My husband ordered the sea bass, which he enjoyed. The wine the waiter recommended was okay, but not worth the price. I have bought $15 wines that were much better. We spent $200.00 on a table we had to settle for and a dish I had to settle for. And don't expect anything special if you let them know it's your anniversary. They didn't even acknowledge it even though they asked if it was a special occasion when we checked in and stated it was for an anniversary when I made reservations. All in all Chart House was a disappointment.
The atmosphere and service was amazing. However, both steaks came out cooked wrong and had to be returned and the sword fish was very dry but we didn’t say anything because we were hungry and the steaks took a bit. The manager stopped by apologized and took them off the tab but then we ordered dessert and waited a good 45 min for it. Great service and atmosphere but the food sub par.
We enjoyed our first visit to the Towers of America! Made reservations a week in advance and I'm certainly glad I did, over heard a gentleman without one and there was a 2 hour wait... the atmosphere, the view, what can I say? It's the best around and unique. The food was exceptional and the service was on point! Friendly staff and helpful with menu choices... it's not cheap so have some extra money. Great place! Defenitly going back!
This was amazing the waiter Chris was awesome the food is delicious and the view was amazing
The food was absolutely horrible. I ordered their prime rib and it was tough tasteless and been sitting under a heat lamp. The mashed potato's were hard from sitting under a heat lamp. I can only assume it was a heat lamp, but whatever it was it crusted over the potato's. The service was horrendous. The waiter we barely saw him had to ask for refills had to ask for table ware had to ask for just about everything because we never knew if we would see the waiter again. Just horrible experience all the way around.
Great Date Night Dinner!
I loved this place!!! The food was great the service was amazing. She had a great time too. The place is pretty pricey but I thought it was worth it.
Everything was great but bathrooms were pretty dirty and the floor needed to be cleaned up.
Finally experienced the Tower of the Americas after living in San Antonio for 12 years. We truly enjoyed the view of the city and the 360 degree revolving dining area.
This was our first visit and it was great! Our reservation was for 6:15pm and we were seated within 5 minutes of the reservation time. We requested a window seat and got it! Our server was attentive and happily took a picture of our group. Also, she easily engaged in conversation without seeming aloof.
Food and service were both excellent and view from 75 stories up , rotating slowly and view of San Antonio skyline and throw in a magnificent sunset made for a wonderful dining experience!
My grandson was visiting from Scotland and it was the perfect way for he and his mom to get a view of the city and surrounding hill country area! What a treat !
My wife and I were on vacation, and the setting in the highest point in San Antonio was terrific. We were there just as dusk settled in, and the rotating dining area gave us the view of the area as day turned into night. The food was very good, from salad to entrees to coffee afterwards. Service was very good - not intrusive, but there just when you need them. It's an expensive dinner - but worth it for the right occasion!
Well it was a disappointing first visit. Seated close to 9 pm for a 8 pm reservation. Waiter forgot to put in soup and salad order. He also forgot to put in the dessert order. What we did receive was good. They did comp the kids meals for the inconvenience. Not sure if we will try again. Other than the view, it’s standard Landry’s fare and can he had at a much less price point elsewhere. Oh and had to pay $15 to park and by the time we finished it was too late to go to the observation deck.
The food was very good. We had a 730 reservation, but were still waiting at 8 for a table, the manager heard this and got us a great table. He also comped 2 appetizers and 2 drinks to make it right without even being asked. The server was wonderful and we left feeling wonderful.
Wonderful and pleasing.
Our main problem was the elevator. We were given wrong instructions to ride up and had to wait a long time to ride down.
I had not been to the Chart House since it reopened in 2006; when it was The Eyes Over Texas. It was very good and I thoroughly enjoyed it then; however, I wasn't as impressed this time. The staff was fantastic with the exception of a manager that chewed out the elevator operator as we were leaving. She did this in front of several patrons, which is highly unprofessional! My husband and I were celebrating our 1 year anniversary and we both had the prime rib, it was okay, a bit on the chewy side and we definitely wouldn't recommend it. The scenic view is the main reason we booked and it did not disappoint but overall, it was an okay experience, not sure that we will come again.
Steak was outstanding. Service was great as well. But salad was wilted and you could tell it had been pre-made. It was discolored. Potatoes were cold, but good. But the Ribeye was one of the best I have ever had. I would go again just for the Ribeye.
The view from this revolving restaurant is spectacular. The food and service are outstanding
We went to celebrate my daughters 9th birthday and it did not disappoint. I picked lunch so we could enjoy the view during the day. I didn’t realize that the lunch menu isn’t available is weekends so the meal was more expensive than I had hoped but overall and great day.
Expensive but good for a special occasion. Good food and great view from tower.
It was the perfect anniversary for me and my husband
The view is absolutely beautiful from this location and the service was good. Unfortunately the food was a disaster. The management was quick to recognize the issues with the food and was kind enough to take some items off the bill. It would be a wonderful place to sit and have a drink but the food I could not suggest anyone.
Serive was great, the food was not really good. I would only recommend because of the scenery. I do not think it's a good value for the price.
Wonderful experience with great service.
It was a nice view of San Antonio, we enjoyed the service and the view.
One of the best. Excellent service, friendly and very attentive staff. I am bad with names, but our waitress had an A+ rating. Thanks and keep up the good job.
Michael was an excellent waiter. Knowledgeable, professional, and very personable. Unique dishes. Very enjoyable.
Great ambiance, delicious food, fantastic service! Always a great place to celebrate a special occasion or take guests from out of town to showcase our beautiful city.
The food was excellent and our server, Dominique, was delightfully efficient and responsive to our needs.
Beautiful view and great food! We will eat here again! And recommend to friends!
Chris gave us excellent attention. He pointed out the sights outside that were significant. He made excellent honest suggestions when asked for help!
I recommend this restaurant mostly for the view. The service was okay, the kids menu was good, the food was good. The noise and seating arrangement made it extremely hard to have a conversation with a party of six.
Restaurant takes advantage of the view. My recommendation: Go up for a drink and he view and have dinner elsewhere. Enjoy the view , expect the bar crowd and noise which comes from above the restaurant at all times. Doesn’t measure up to other chart house’s.
