Our reservation was for 7:30, but we weren't seated until 8pm. The restaurant didn't seem that busy, but the wait staff appeared shorthanded. There was no explanation given, but had I been late for my reservation it probably would have been canceled. Guess it only works one way when reservations are made.

A little disappointed with this visit. Reservations were made 2+ weeks in advance with a special request for a special celebration and window table. Upon arrival, we had to wait for such a table, as requests for a window tables are not taken. Duh...why ask if it's a special occasion or a request?. Our service was not very good. Until we talked with the server, plates were not taken away, water was never filled, wine was not poured, my appetizer was delayed and not served with the others...and then he was seen serving drinks to others, until we asked about my appetizer again. Then the appetizer was finally brought to me. There was a birthday involved and a special desert was presented to the diner. When he was almost done with his dessert, our desserts finally arrived, after reminding the server that we had desserts as well. And finally, asked for two bills at the very beginning. Not a problem, but only one bill came. More time to get that resolved. The noise level was very loud. Difficult to talk. And one final thing. One guest ordered the 9 oz filet and we were surprised how small it was. We were sure it was just the 7 oz. And the garlic mashed potatoes were dry and not creamy as they usually are. I've had very good food and service here before and this definitely was not the greatest experience.

The Charthouse never disappoints. The food is very good. The salad bar is great. The restaurant is right on the beach. They don't have outside dining, but that's fine with me.

My Mom and I recently celebrated her birthday, just the two of us. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed, my mom got happy birthday wishes from every person who interacted with us. The service was perfect, the food was amazing.

1. Service: After ordering dinner entree, did not see the waiter till end of dinner and didn’t ask how entree was in the meantime. 2. Food: Salad bar was good; shrimp mango avocado stack did not have ripe mangos so not as good as previously; Black cod entree was lukewarm and fish was undercooked & tasteless. 3. Feedback: Waiter said manager removed the black cod entree as ‘Did not like’ but manager did not bother to ask us why we didn't like it. Should have asked for feedback for to improve experience.

We went to CH for a birthday party. I have been going to the Redondo Beach CH for over 20+ years. The service we received for a special night was terrible. The server was awful and said we could not share entrees without being charged double. I have never heard that from a restaurant before. If it was a dinner out any other night than a special birthday, our party of 7 would have left after the first round of drinks and apps. We would not have ordered dinner. I will never go to CH again.

I had not been to CH for years (like 20) I introduced it to my boyfriend last night and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We devoured the clam chowder and fell in love with the Black Cod. The Lava cake was waaaay toooo rich for my taste… one bite would have been enough.,. Anyway….,… We will be back soon

Our experience was wonderful. Our cousins were visiting from Texas and they gave us a corner table next to the window. The service was great, though we lingered, they didn’t push us to leave. Thank you so making this a great experience that we all loved.

Service was ATROCIOUS. Took 45 mins to get a drink. Bread came after the meal because we asked for it 3 times. Nearly 2 hours to get our meal. Another 30 minutes to get a check. Awful.

Overall it was a good experience. The views were amazing and our server Fred was very friendly and attentive. It got rather busy and he still made sure all his tables were taken care of. The food was a bit subpar for my liking given the ambiance. I will say some items are definitely worth getting again. They had a salad bar, which I didn't try but I do love they had that option. I would come back to try other items.

We highly recommend this Chart House. The servers are professional, knowledgeable, and provide an excellent dining experience. Ever since the new management took over earlier this year, the restaurant has exceeded our expectations. The front of the house (host-stand) staff could use some training in customer service and etiquette, but the servers and floor folks were excellent. With the new management, this has become a favorite restaurant for us again, especially for special occasions. It had declined in previous years with the prior management, but that has been turned around and the issues have been resolved. My only wish is to get priority window seating with my V.I.P. Landry's Membership (as was promised as a perk when I bought it) or be able to reserve a window table through Open Table on a first come, first served basis (maybe with a credit card deposit to secure the windowfront table?) Regardless for window table procedures, our hats are off to the new management. Nice job! We will be back soon!

We had John. Never saw him before. We needed to ask 3 times for someone to track him down. We came at 6:30 and were almost the last people in the resturant. He was terrible. He was not buzy the resturant was not that busy. No excuse.

Had a 6:30 pm reservation seated at 7:15 pm, no water or waiter until 7:35 pm, ordered filet mignon medium rare it was raw, after waiting so long asked for a to go box cooked it when we got home fed it to the dog, was to be a BDay Celebration, ended up canceling dessert, the staff and the cook need retraining, clean up your act there are so many much better places for customers who want the best food, service and at the beach, clearly The Charthouse did not live up to their hype, major disappointment! Awful!!

Was a last minute decision to go out for wedding anniversary. They close at 9 but we snagged the 9pm reservation. Everyone was so kind and accommodating despite it being so late. Made our anniversary dinner perfect!

From our close up view of the beach and ocean, to our attentive and very sociable server Shawn, to our tasty food.... our visit to the Chart House in Redondo Beach was a great one. So happy the salad bar is up and running. I recommend all Chart Houses to do the same. Thank you for a wonderful birthday dinner and night out.

The food was okay I’d say average respectfully in my opinion just because I wasn’t wowed my only complaint would be I wish our server was attentive our server wasn’t even the one to bring our food out it was another person and he saw our tiny table didn’t have much space so I stacked our unwanted plates to the side but he didn’t take them he then said he would call our server so he could take our oysters & salad unwanted plates out the way but he never came around until about 20 minutes later when we were finishing our food he then took the plates and I asked for dessert and check at the same time. Also when I booked the reservation online I put in the notes for a scenic window table so we can see the water but we actually were sat the farthest unfortunately when there were other closer open tables available so there is no guarantee even if you make notes that’s it’s also for a birthday dinner. We didn’t make any complaints or comments in person but to my surprise In the end they took the oysters off the check because it was my birthday the server said when he brought out the check.
