had a great meal with nice people, perfect night out
Had brunch on Sunday. The food was okay but overpriced. As a Landrys select club member I had planned on redeeming my credits($50) but was told that their computer was down and couldn't process the request.Last time I visit Chart House.
Had a wonderful evening with breathtaking views at Chart House Philadelphia celebrating a birthday. Our server, Alex, was incredible. Food was great, definitely recommend the spinach chopped salad with warm bacon dressing and lobster bisque for starters!
Four of us had dinner here on Saturday, October 13, 2018. The salads and the meal were wonderful and just the right portions. The drinks were good as well except the wine I ordered was the last and had to order a different Chardonnay for the second glass. That was okay. However, when we decided on dessert only one guest ordered cheesecake plain. The cheesecake was not good. Three of the group tasted it and agreed that it was spoiled and spongy. When the waiter returned with our check/payment we tried to mention it to him but he turned to quickly and walked away. I don't know if anyone else ordered cheesecake on Saturday night if they did good luck. Thankfully no one got sick.
Otherwise it is a nice place to have dinner and the view of the Delaware River is amazing.
WOW THE BEST SERVICE GREAT MEAL WAS EXCELLENT FIND DINING
Food and atmosphere was very good. Server was nice but apparently overwhelmed. We were there for 2.5 hours and we just ordered salads and main course. Outside seating on the river was very scenic
My husband and I went here for my birthday this week and had an EXCELLENT time! The food was fantastic. Our waiter, Fisher, was friendly and attentive and did a great job.
The hostess let us know about the seating outside and recommended it to us since it was so beautiful out. I am so glad she did! It was perfect!
One of the things I liked best about this place is that it is like an old-fashioned seafood and steak restaurant: the atmosphere is subdued and relaxing, with attentive service and great features (waterfall, booth seating, waterfront seating, multiple levels that are both open but yet cozy nooks). Plus, I loved walking a bit on the waterfront before our reservation. And they have free parking!!!
I have seen a few reviews in which people complain about the wait time between courses. I think they need to consider that this is the type of restaurant that you are SUPPOSED to wait between your appetizers, salad, soup, entree, etc.
That is the proper way to serve courses...you are supposed digest a bit and relax. Another part of the problem is that people don’t seem to understand that, especially with this kind of place & if you have a large group, it is best to have a reservation...that’s the best way to get the most of your experience.
The only criticism I can come up with is that the salad could have been more up to par with the rest of the food (but, this isn’t a place that focuses on them either..).
We will definitely return!
Donna was wonderful! The food was really delicious, too. Portions were generous, especially with the appetizer style starters. The brightness in the restaurant made it a little hard to see out of the windows onto the river but overall it was a very special time. Will be returning for sure!
Great food was good and waiter was awesome
Loved the bar area...service was great
We celebrated our anniversary with Chart House and were not disappointed..actually, it exceeded our expectations!!
The pictures are;
-the wonderful view from our table!
-plate of swordfish with ginger coconut rice
-my husband saying 'yum'!
Server delayed bringing dessert for over 20 minutes and was completely unapologetic. Dessert was mud pie- it was melted and unappealing but main problem was her poor attitude.
The Chart House in Philadelphia is an excellent choice for dinner, with an awesome menu that can be enjoyed with a fantastic view. Highly recommend!
Very inattentive service. Had to ask for drink refills multiple times. Freezing temperatures in restaurant. Loud groups.
Always enjoy the view, staff and food that is good value. We had a great waitress who provided excellent service.
Took my husband for dinner Monday evening and it was amazing, great service, amazing food. We had a great time, we will be returning very soon.
View was great right on the river, Food was OK, Service was awful, had to ask for bread twice, and drinks
were very slow my drink almost came at the end of my meal restaurant was not busy. Maybe a new waiter.
Buffet the Cesar salad bowl was empty no croutons and several other bowls were empty don't know what
was in them. Maybe they need more help.
The dining experience was wonderful. we were celebrating my Wife's Mother's Birthday and she is very "tough" on restaurants. However, everything was Great and she did not complain once; she was satisfied from her cocktail to her dessert. A+!
We arrived at 8:50 for our 8:45 PM reservation. Food was served at 10:15pm. My food had a piece of wire metal in it, we waited another 20min and missed our movie. Server did not discount or apologized for the inconvenience. Our night was shot after that.
Food was amazing. Waiter was very sweet! General Manager came to us and spoke with us and made us feel at home- even gave me a tour of the restaurant, as I am familiar with several other locations! Would 100% come again :-)
It was my fathers 60th bday and this was the perfect gift to him. The waiter was very pleasant and on time. His manager even came over to say hello which at most restaurants they don't do. The view was beautiful 😊. It was a party of 8 but our waiter was on time with everything. I would love to visit again and go back for any occasion.
Food was above average and our waitress was fine. The problem was we sat for dinner on a Thursday night at 545pm. We sat upstairs. The entire lower area was empty. We were a party of 6 each ordered a drink. It took 45 minutes for the first 3 drinks to come. Then, after another 5 minutes we were told they were out of the "glasses' for the flights. We told them just use any glass at this point and the other drinks came out about 10 minutes later. The irony is when we first sat I told our waitress to keep the drinks coming because we all used Uber to get there. We got one round. The manager seemed barely concerned or engaged in the matter. We won't be going back which is a shame because the food was pretty good.
Beautiful setting, excellent food! We had a fantastic time. Our waiter Alex was the best. He was polite, professional and very knowledgeable. Just a wonderful experience. I will be back
This place is fancy and reasonably priced. The table was nice and the lighting was perfect. They have there own parking lot. I will definitely be going back!
I waitress took 30 mins to greet my wife and I at our table. I reserved a table for my wife birthday and was seated promptly but wasn't acknowledge a Happy Birthday wish or complimentary cake at end of dinner. I couldn't tell my wife what happened so I left. I didn't want to upset her.
My is Andre Washington and my wife was there on 9/23/2018 with 4:30 reservation. We had a second waitress that took care of us. She was great.
Enjoyed every moment of the evening...Couldn't have asked for a better experience....
We really enjoyed our experience at the Chart House. We would definitely consider returning.
Overall the food and service from our waiter was exceptional. The silverware set up at the table was not all clean. For the price you pay for food the silverware should be clean. This is such a small thing to get right but when it’s wrong, could make a really bad impression. And there was a big crash from the kitchen which seem to be some plates broken which is definitely understandable and can happen. The part that was Unacceptable was someone screaming and yelling from the kitchen who I’m thinking didn’t appreciate the crash. Since we were sitting right outside of the kitchen area we could hear the crash and The overall disgust from the employee. Then one of the workers exited the kitchen and mentioned out loud, she’s tripping or something to that effect. We had a very pleasant waiter and we did really enjoy the food but your restaurant is too pricey to experience indirect ignorance from staff and dirty silverware. We tipped the waiter 20% As he was very attentive and kept us in the loop on salads and food. Even though the salad took a long time to come to the table that was not an issue for us due to the service we were provided from our waiter. I wish I could remember his name. I know he mentioned it.
After many visits, we have never been disappointed. Excellent food, service, and and ambiance.
Well food took really long, I was 20 minutes late due to Friday night traffic jams so our table was given away, we ended up in the lounge area which was very comfortable, service was okay at best. I will visit again earlier this time I’d like to try the swordfish dish.
The service and the food was supurb! A beautiful view of the Delaware River added to the total experience. We will be back!
Wife had salmon wrapped in cedar which was ok. I had swordfish which was dry and apparently overcooked. Brushetta board as an app which was enuff for about 6 people...we were 2. In my opinion not up to Chart House standards. Won't go back as there are plenty of other Philly restaurants to choose from.
The food, service and atmosphere was great. I took my husband there for a birthday dinner (surprise) because he has never been and he loved it..... We will return and bring others....
Excellent food, great service. The restaurant is very accommodating to my food allergy. This is my favorite restaurant.
My mother enjoyed her birthday dinner. Service and food was amazing
Celebrated our 5 year anniversary and it was our first time eating here . It was wonderful! Everyone was nice and courteous, our waitress ( I wish I remembered her name ) gave us great recommendations on food and drinks . Everything was phenomenal, we had a beautiful view at night and it was one great date night for the books . Would love to come back !
Went for anniversary and had a great night. Felt like we were actually slowed down by our waitor instead of our normal fast pace. Everything was perfect. A little pricier than I think it needs to be but that's the price you pay for any similar restaurant so expected.
I haven't been here in years and the experience was a great as it was last time. The waiter was very knowledgeable and friendly and showed lots of class. Still the same great ambience and view of the waterfront. I would definitely dine there again!
WE HAD A DIFFICULT EXPERIENCE, WAS CONTACTED BY THE GM WADE WILSON, ALANNA WAS THE WAITRESS AND MELISSA THE HOST GAVE MY WIFE A BLESSED 50TH BIRTHDAY, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR DINNER, MY WIFE SAID IT WAS THE THE BEST BIRTHDAY DINNER SHE HAS HAD IN YEARS 👍🏿👌🏿✌🏿✊🏿👏🏿
We usually have a very good experience at Chart House--the service and food is always excellent. But Saturday night for some reason the service was incredibly slow, and we didn't have time for dessert. Very disappointing. But we'll go back--I believe it was an aberration, only proving that even the best can occasionally have an off night.
