Beautiful view and table. Waiter was young and enthusiastic , but you should not give an inexperienced waiter 5 tables. Order was wrong, and took too long. Not his fault...
Terrible told us they were packed and we made reservations right through this app and got a table 5 mins later . I’m not sure why they would lied other then i look young
Nice place beautiful views... excellent service!!!
had a very nice evening / service & food were great as usual!!
We have not been to the Chart House in over 20 years. We were pleasantly surprised and very happy to be back. Our waiter, Mike, was friendly and efficient, the view of the New Jersey beautiful, the atmosphere warm ,quiet and comfortable. The food, excellent, and I have never in my 83 years, had the chef come to my table to have me cut my steak to see if it was done right. We will be back.
My husband and I had a nice quiet dinner. It was his birthday and we enjoyed our food.
Close to home I deal parking beautiful views I can only imagine how pretty it would be in the summer but still on a great day I was still beautiful the decor reminded me of a cruise ship dining room which we like and the food was delicious so we plan on coming back soon as we can
Guess Open Table is not interested in people giving a thorough review of the places the have on their site so I will go with this place was HORRILBLE. MEDIOCRE QUALITY FOOD AND POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. Especially the manager of this location. I tried to shorten the review and kept getting an error message to shorten. Guess they dont want a detailed review. I will not recommend coming here. You can read my entire review on Yelp or Google.
Food, ambiance and seating was superb.
Absolutely the worst service we’ve experienced in 26 years of eating here.
I love our server, Alaina. Shes so nice and accomodating. Kinda pricey but the food did taste great. But the only complain I have is the lady who brought us to our table. She's not that nice and helpful. We asked if we can move near by the window glass. SHe's kinda annoyed and she said she will try. But she never came back to follow up. And the tables by the glass windows were occupied throughout the time we were there. I even saw her in the restroom and didnt even smile. Forgot to get her name.
Simply put - it’s solid on the fundamentals, but lacks the creativity that one sees from other restaurant groups. The space, while scenic seems tired and in need of an update. The menu is adequate but I’d like to see more specials featuring fish like branzino and halibut, etc...
Service was nice but mediocre. There were three issues; my entree’s starch wasn’t swapped for veggies as requested which created a wait and my wife’s fish was undercooked as we had requested well done salmon which created another wait. Finally, there was a hair on one of the dinner rolls. Ultimately, those issues hampered our dining experience and we pretty much decided we wouldn’t cone back. One and done.
Great place to eat with an awesome view. Customer service is always a premium and food is of quality. Still puzzled about the dress code and whether its enforced. Highly recommend the stuffed flounder!!
We had Carol as our server and she was outstanding
I enjoyed my experience and the food was great.
I have been hear be for on regular nights but chose to go on valentines day with my girl friend and I was not impress by the food. The valentines menu was over price for the value, so I just wanted to ordered regular lobster tail from the menu but they did not have any available. I chose to get salmon as my next option and needless to say it was so bland and cheap but over price. I could have gone to Friday's and got better food. I like the Charter house, but Valentines day night the food was horrible and not many options. The desert was good the ambiance was outstanding, especially the view. Free valet parking was great. I will still go again, but not on Valentines day.
One my favorite restaurant in Philadelphia for the last 30 years will never go back again. We were seated right away at one the worst tables in the house in the corner against the wall, with only two chairs so we had to put out coat and hat on the window sill. Salad bar was better than my last visit. My husband ordered the oysters Rockefeller which is no longer on the menu but they made it for them, and New York strip with mashed potato and the cream spinach, I ordered the prime rib which comes with a high sodium warning it should come with a no flavor warning. The mashed potatoes are horrible the cream spinach was okay. The Valentine’s Day special was horrible since I’m allergic to shellfish every entree had shellfish on it. I did ask about a substitute but was told none available. They gave no favors for Valentine’s Day. They seated all African Americans together. The restaurant is just horrible.
It was great I love the Ambiance the waiter the whole experience was awesome the water watching them pool hello fabulous wonderful time
Food was good, service was good. Only issue was it took a while to get my wine order which was first.
Free valet parking at the front door. Asked hostess for a table by the window and was immediately accommodated. Waiter was very attentive throughout the evening. Made a special request on the cooking of my filet, and it was prepared perfectly. Wife's salmon was one of the best she ever had. The ambience felt very intimate. The view added to the overall enjoyment of the evening. We were a bit apprehensive after reading some of the reviews beforehand, especially in light of it being Valentines Day. All of the posted criticism was unfounded by us. We really enjoyed this restaurant
Worst experience I’ve had! Service was poor! Was left unattended for several minutes. Was left without water for about 10+ minutes. Food was terrible! The lobster bisque was clumpy and look like it came out of a can! Food was unseasoned from seat to finish. Being a front of manager and just seeing the mistakes that happened tonight just left me and my wife who are both cooks as well shaking our heads as we walked out the door. Never again!!
The food was good and the view and location was also good however, the temperature inside the restaurant was too cold for the temperature outside of the restaurant it was the coldest day of the year and yet it seemed as thought the temperature on the inside was if it were summertime, that basically was my only issue.
Always one of the most romantic restaurants in Philadelphia
My boyfriend and I went for the first time to celebrate Valentine’s Day and everything was AMAZING! Our waiter Jason was outstanding
Very nice, quiet and beautiful view. Got our food very quick. Service was excellent. Wild recommend it to others. Even getting our car from valets came quick cause it was cold out they was moving very quick to get cars.
A bit pricey but we enjoyed the food. My biggest criticism was that we went for a romantic dinner and with many open tables they sat a family with small children at the table right next to us. The tables were close so the noise level increased dramatically.
Food was great.. Our server was really really nice and gave us good recommendations for food and drink. Love Smoked Apple Manhattan which I strongly recommend
Great food and service. Highly recommend
The Chart House has great wait staff and the food was delicious loved the table with a view of the water.
Server was excellent and the dining room was comfortable:)
We loved the food and the ambiance ! Live the waterfront view and the service staff! Best place to go for special events ! It’s $$$; but worth it!
Our waiter was perfect!! Excellent service and very pleasant
My boyfriend and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary here and it was outstanding. We enjoyed everything they had to offer. My only downside was a man who i assume is the general manager, when he came to the table to ask how everything was he would immediately start walking away not caring to start an actual conversation. And at one point i asked what something was that i saw walk passed us on a sizzle, he answered while a few feet away while still continuing to walk away. I just didn’t care for his demeanor very much. But otherwise it’s a great place!
Service was great but the i was disappointed with the food.
My wife’s birthday.
Ray our server was excellent and very attentive and thoughtful. Much appreciated!
The food and service was great I got the salmon it was good but should have got the steak it was everything. David was very nice and gave great service I will be back for that steak. Thanks for a great night
Another wonderful dining experience! Consistently great food and service...our server David (and trainee) were the best!
We had a beautiful table with waterfront view! The staff was very accommodating. Our waiter was extremely helpful with suggestions and never pushy- we were well taken care of:) Definitely recommend the Hot Chocolate Lava Cake 😋
The manager behaved more like a pit boss than a customer care type. Very defensive even when he knew that we waited two hours for main course. Didn’t apologize. Just said he would see in the back if I was being truthful! I have fond memories from the past. The grande salad bar with caviar. No more. Now its 7 bins of salad near the kitchen. Overall disaster. No one local would come back. Was nearly empty on a sat night. I would say under current management this place has less than a year in business. A shame. Run well this place would be guaranteed success due to the view.
I was very disappointed regarding the farmer's bar. That is why I went to that Chart House. It looked horrible! I don't appreciate being told to go to Ruby Tuesday's for a good salad bar. Fish and appetizer were very good; however, my mashed potatoes and asparagus were average. The asparagus was hard to cut.
