   Birthday dinner for 3 adults. Many perks such as menu printed out with our name in big bold print, personalized birthday card shortly after seating, food & service excellent, timing fantastic, topped off with a mud pie with Happy birthday written in dark chocolate on the plate + a small complimentary slice of similar pie. last but not least the view of the harbor boats transitioning from daylight to evening lights.

   The food is not what it used to be. We ordered 2 different shrimp dishes and none of them was tasty. Too bad, they have a great location and atmosphere, but the food is just not worth it.

   The food was really very good. Sonny our sever was attentive and gave good advice on what to eat. We shared the shrimp cocktail which delicious. For our main we had salmon and crab cakes both where very good. To finish we shared the lava cake which was divine.

    Week service - the waitress asked us if we wanted bread for the soup and we said yes, but it never came. We ordered a glass of red wine for the beef, but it came not before we were half finished with the beef, as the waitress couldn’t find the bottle

    Reservation was at 8:30. Was told they were behind on seating. I requested a window seat. She said it may take longer. Went to the bar to wait and bartenders were amazing. Wine was amazing. Was finally sat at 9:30. Server informs us the kitchen closes in 10 minutes so we need to make our selection. We informed him we had just got sat. Server was great. Plates had fingerprints on it. But all and all, experience was amazing.

    The place is always a great eating experience. Food quality is as it should be...very good. The service was also on par...very nice and attentive to our eating needs. That Saturday we went, day after Valentine's day, was especially full/crowded. The reservation system did not allow for proper time spacing of the diners to get in and out comfortably.

    The manager had no interest that we waited for over 30 minutes for our entrees. The restaurant was not packed. The food salmon was over cooked with no seasonings to give it flavor. The waiter totally disappeared. It was a disappointing and upsetting night for food and service with a manager who was not interested in taking care of us.

    Didn't get seated until 30 minutes past our reservation time. While being seated we counted 9 open tables in the restaurant. Our server didn't stop at the table until 20 minutes after we had been seated. We order pre dinner drinks and wine to come with our entrees. Our entrees came before the pre dinner drinks. We had to ask two different people about the drinks which finally came halfway through our meal. The wine came just as we were asking for the check. Our date night was awful because of this restaurant and the staff.

    Been going here for more than 35 years, always great until it was sold to corporate. We were seated almost 30 minutes after our reservation time. After being seated, we were not greeted by anyone for almost 20 minutes until we flagged the hostess and asked who our waiter was. She didn't know but did find out. My wife had prime rib and asked for medium well, it came out blood red. we sent it back and got the same. Service was poor, salad bar was almost bare, and food was marginal. Not the Valentines dinner I thought would be great, even though we went Sat. instead of Fri. It is off our list for a nice evening out. we will not return.

    In all fairness, it was Valentine’s Day. That being said this night had the potential to be an amazing evening and ended up to be a failure. The food was brought to the table cold. The steak was dry and my meal had hair. We gave the restaurant the benefit of the doubt and sent it back. The plate that had a small piece of hair was taken back and a new plate was made. The other plate was warmed and by the time it hit the table it was cold. The best part of the night was the bar staff prior to the meal. We ended up getting in n out for our Valentines meal, as everything else was closed. We were not charged for food, but offered nothing more than an apology. So much for holidays and this venue.

    We were seated approximately 45 minutes after our reservation but it was understandable given that it was Valentine’s Day and on a Friday. Everything was amazing from the old fashioneds at the bar while we waited to the main course once we were seated. Service was amazing.

    Went for Valentines Day with my wife. Seated right away. Very busy night as expected. They were going to put me in a very bad table, so we had them move us. Wife ordered steak well-done. I know that is not ideal, but she likes it that way. The steak came out medium. They fixed it fast. Other than that, the food was very good, waitress was solid and all was good. We go there regularly and it is always good. I think this is just a real busy date, so it is hard to expect perfection with a crush of diners all on same day. I recommend them.

    We went Valentine's day to the Chart House. There was a special menu and their regular menu. We selected the special menu since the entree choices were great. We selected the steak and lobster, delicious. Choice of lobster bisque or green salad with candied walnuts, cheese, etc. both excellent. Plus a decadent chocolate dessert. The best part was the place was packed and we got our food timely, not rushed, and hot!! Our attendant was delightful. Wished we could have been closer to the windows, but we were able to see the marina and water.

    Fantastic. Both the food and service were superb. Macadamia crusted Mahi was delicious as was the prime rib. The ambience was beautiful. One of the best restaurant meals that we have had in the past year. We can't wait to return.

    Lovely location right on the marina. Large windows everywhere. Seating is comfortable for leisurely dining. Everything we ordered was delicious, the clam chowder, shrimp crab and avocado stack, fireside King Salmon, stuffed shrimp. Not a place for craft beer but excellent margaritas and other cocktails.

    The waiter drooped the appetizer plate sending food all over the table and my wife's shoe. My prime rib was gritty almost like it had been dropped on the floor then placed back on the plate.

    I brought my parents there specifically for the quiet ambiance outside(they are older) so right after we ordered food, we were quite surprised when there was a deafening band saw going about 25 feet away in the attached business. It was absolutely mindblowingly loud. The hostess did ask them to move it inside, I thank her for that. But you may want to make sure they do the loud work there inside or during non business hours. It tool a while to get seated as well but it all worked out and my parents enjoyed the food and waitress.

    We were celebrating our 32nd anniversary. The restaurant staff went above and beyond to make our dinner extra special. As we approached the table, there was an anniversary card waiting and signed by all the wait team. Each person serving us congratulated us and then we saw we had personalized menus with our name and anniversary date. We were so blessed to have such a warm carry environment to share our special day. Definitely be back!

    I used to like the Charthouse Restaurants. For a while, I may have even loved the Malibu one. However those days are now long gone. We ate at the Marina Del Rey location last night. We ordered the 10 oz prime rib, the coconut fried shrimp and the plank salmon and used an open table reward certificate for a portion of my bill. The quick review: bread was not fresh (Sunday night, but still), prime rib was medium warm, salmon ok, shrimp slightly greasy, mashed potatoes bland, and the creamed spinach vegetable was good. The waiter up-charged the $30 cedar plank salmon to a king salmon without asking us. I complained about the uncharged and was interrogated by the manager. We pointed out that the cedar plank salmon listing on the menu did not offer a “better brand of salmon” and the waiter did not offer that to us. The manager took off the excess charge however we felt that the mediocre meal was made even worse by the manager’s rude attitude. I’m done. I will not patronize Chart houses again.

    Wow, the Chart House still has it!!! I have not been to one in many, many years, and was a little hesitant that it would live up to my expectations.....our server was very attentive, and food was delivered as we requested, as we wanted to enjoy the view and ambiance, and did not feel rushed at all on a Saturday night! Overall, I wold be happy to go back, and ate too much, my only regret!
