Chart House Restaurant - Marina del Rey Ratings and Reviews
Best restaurants in the Marina. Our server was awesome. She was very detailed and educated on wine pairings, continued to check in to assure our meal was going well. Steak with mushroom truffle butter was impeccable and the lobster ravioli was prepared perfectly.
One of the worst dining experiences of my life. We ordered steaks and a side. Nothing complicated. When the food finally came my steak was way overcooked, my friend's steak was way under cooked, and the side was not delivered. Waitress did not check to see if everything was Ok with the food. Had to grab a different waitress to let them know it was not right. I can assure you I am not in the habit of sending food back, but this was not even close. Our waitress finally came by once but no apology was offered and she did not seem to care. Witnessed her standing around goofing off with other staff members. She certainly was not by the kitchen making sure our food was being prepared. Finally gave up after waiting another 45 minutes with no food so we left. I have been to the Chart House in Jacksonville many times and it was always great. Very disappointed in this location.
Showed up for our reservation for 2 on time but they still had us wait 20 minutes, even while sitting other parties of 2 with later reservation times. Didn’t see any food or drinks until about 45 minutes after our reservation. Make sure you eat before you come here, just in case.
took 30min just to get a basket of bread... 45min for an appetizer. The kitchen was slammed, but by the time we got the appetizer it was cold. for what you pay, the portions were small and the food seemed cheap and frozen. Clearly the kitchen is not passionate about their jobs. the clam chowder was mediocre at best- potatoes still hard...Artichoke was sad. I would never go to this restaurant again unless it was to attend another friend's event. The ambiance is what saves this place but so much was lacking to ever provoke me to step into this establishment again.
Everything about the evening at The Charthouse was great.
We were seated promptly, the staff were friendly, efficient and professional. And, we had a nice view!
The food was delicious and served hot. Excellent wine list.
Valet parking was on point and not over priced.
Because it was Christmas Day, the restaurant was very crowded and, therefore, the service was not the best. Three of us all ordered the Captain's Prime Rib. My two guests were pleased with their order. However, my rib was over 1/3 fat/gristle, which I should have returned. However, I took a good deal of it home for my dog. Generally, we are all pleased with the food/service. However, this was not one of those days.
The food was Delicious, Hats off to the chef , best food I’ve had all year .The restaurant looks plain in the day time but very elegant at night when the candle lights are on and you get the view from the water. If Your looking to go on a date, Definitely plan to go at night that’s when the restaurant is most impressive .The waitstaff could have been a little better considering the prices that you’re paying we had to wait a couple of times we weren’t sure where our waiter was . Also if your going on a weekend make sure to make reservations it filled up pretty quickly once dinner started and I saw some people leave for missing their reservation. Over all I really like this restaurant because of the food And the night time Ambience. But at $167.00 for 2 people I would expect the restaurant to be a little more updated and better service. The Chef totally is the reason for the success. I also liked that they have valet parking for 5 dollars. I would return to this restaurant.
I normally order the prime rib, steak or fish. Those seem like their strong suits. I had the short rib which was cut into small pieces. It didn't have the flavor I expected and as is customary in most restaurants serving that, comes with a bone. I will stick to the basics of their menu going forward.
Tried the lobster bisque and it lacked lobster flavor and was too creamy. Needs work.
Have been to the Chart House many times over the years. Love the salad bar. Friendly staff but waited at reception for 7 minutes before a host appeared. Might have been short handed during the holidays.
We were seated 15 minutes earlier than our reservation, that was nice. Very busy, so service was a touch slow a couple of times, but ok. Thanksgiving dinner was way overpriced for two small slices of turkey and very small portions, all of which were luke warm! The noise level was higher than usual, but was ok and to be expected with a full house. Won't ever order the thanksgiving dinner again!
4th Anniversary Dinner and we just decided to wing it and head to Chart House at the last minute(ish...we made reservations). Staff was accommodating, seated us at a killer spot by the window; hooked us up with a surprise slice of Anniversary Dessert from the kitchen and even spotted us a mini bottle of prosecco. Basically, Chart House went well over and beyond in making us happy. I've dined at over 20 of your locations through the years and have come to trust the level of quality that this chain provides. Thanks, Chart House!
We have been to this restaurant many times. This time we took two friends with us to
introduce them to the place. Unfortunately it was a disaster. We waited
35 minutes for water and bread. We asked for two cocktails and wine. One of us
asked for olives in her drink three times and they never arrived. We were at the
restaurant three hours, most of the time waiting for them to figure out who our server
would be and then waiting for service Three of us were very pleased with our fish dinners; however, the one "new" guest ordered the prime rib and it was so tough that it was inedible. When the waiter cleared our dishes and finally asked how everything was our guest told him the prime rib was inedible because it was so tough. The waiter took his dinner off the bill which was the right thing to do but I seriously doubt that they will ever return to this restaurant.
The Chart House is one of those restaurants I look to when I want a special evening. We had an east coast visitor and wanted to take her somewhere with a great view and great food.
Our reservation was for 5:30 on Sunday. The restaurant was not crowded and we were able to sit at a window table. Our server, Topaz, answered all of our questions about the food and the drinks. The service was excellent and the food, superb as always: Kim Chee Calamari, Shrimp and Wild Mushroom Bruschetta, Amber Flame Cobia with Mushroom and Kale Risotto.
Our visitor loved the restaurant, the food and the service, which was our goal. I cannot wait for the next special occasion to come back to The Chart House.
This restaurant has been there for a long time so I thought I would give it a try. We had a very nice waitress but that was the only thing I could say that was acceptable. I ordered a Grey Goose Gimlet on the Rocks and the Bartender did not know how to make one. I had to show the waitress the recipe....
They used to be known for their extensive salad bar..It was mediocre at best. My Steak was OK, my Husbands was not cooked well..he ordered it Medium/Rare....it was Red and Bloody with a cold center...cooked as if it was done by a inexperienced chef.. The Mashed Potato's were pasty and tasted as if they were cooked the day prior.
I would not go back...
