Beautiful restaurant, beautiful setting. Prime rib wasn't very tasty. All meat portions were on the small side. 1sixth glass of wine for ten dollars is taking advantage. If efforts placed on ambience, were equaled regarding the food, this would be an exceptional dining establishment.
Our meal was very good. I had the stuffed founder and my husband had the "early bird" fish and chips. My fish had a little too much lemon shallot butter which they put on all their fish entrees. If I ordered again I would ask for easy on the shallot butter. The fish and chips were flaky and tasty. The early bird includes the salad bar which makes this a choice less expensive one.
This was our second time dining at the Chart House, and quite honestly, this particular experience was not nearly as good as the first. The server was very unfriendly, and the food was just below average.
Awful, I ordered short ribs they were greasy and apparently encrusted means fried. Horrible value for what we got $150 later. Our server, we saw three times and he was clearly frustrated everytime we saw him. The bar drink came out to the table before my coke did. Below u can see howuch grease was on my plate. Needless to say I wouldn't have paid if I wasn't on a date. It's a shame I heard so many good things about this place. I guess it was all hype because of the expense people think they are getting quality when u lay that much. Oh an GM I called Chris the GM he just simply said sorry and blamed me for not telling him while I was there. Needless to say I won't recommend and won't be back McDonald's quality would have been better.
They even took the time to give us personalized menus for our daughter's birthday! Our waiter was very attentive and food was fantastic!!!
Citrus Parmesean Crusted Snapper, Ceasar Salad, Pralines and Cream Ice Cream, out of this world delicious!
The salad bar was very good. However the prime rib had no flavor.
The calamari would have been okay with marinara sauce but was served drenched with another sauce with the result of an unremarkable dish which was a bit over-priced.
The occasion was my wife's birthday, she liked every bit of the experience. The food was excellent and our waitress was very polite and prompted.
We had a party of 6 for a birthday on 1/27/18 which coincided with the Rolex 24 hr car race event in Daytona Beach. This limited the menu options from their regular menu and took away the early bird option. That would have been nice to know beforehand, although we would have still gone. Two members of our part ordered the filet and wasn't really impressed as they'd had file at Hyde Park the month before which was exceptional. I had the twin lobster tails which I thoroughly enjoyed, one person had the Ahi tuna which was a generous portion and well liked. Another party member had the stuffed shrimp which was tasty although she indicated she thought the shrimp would have been larger. The last party member had the Snapper Hemingway which he did enjoy but said he couldn't really taste the fish as the topping overwhelmed the dish. All in all though it was a good experience and for the first time had a table with a really nice view.
Not so good this time. We had a very long wait for appetizers and entrees. Restaurant was not at all busy as we has an 8:30 reservation. We had to ask several times where was our food.
Although our table wasn’t ready when we arrived, the host staff kept us well informed and offered us several options as tables became available finally settling in to a nice waterfront view! Food was excellently presented and tasted even better. Service was very attentive but not obtrusive. Key Lime pie is amazing! But be wary of sticker shock when the bill comes!
Our service was terrible and the food was worse! Not headed back anytime soon!
Above average! The service was smooth and they tried to be accommodating.
Great ambiance, in my opinion one that works for most occasions.
One reason I reserve giving a 5-star rating throughout is for a couple reasons: 1. Our table ordered the charcuterie and cheese board - to accommodate the vegetarian in the group we wanted the meats separated but were informed the platters were per-made. Understandably restaurants need to prep, however with such a limited menu for vegetarians, they may want to, at a minimum, arrange the platter differently so that they can still prep, but at the same time ensure that the meats and cheese are separate. For those people who may be rolling their eyes: some people may have an intolerance or like me, not like the taste - so I don’t want to taste salami on my cheese. 2. You guessed it: lack of vegetarian options. The chopped salad was lovely - though a little heavy on onions (for me), but it would have been great to have something a little more substantial than cheese, bread (excellent bread) and salad.
Again, for those rolling their eyes: why did we pick this restaurant - well, the answer is in the question. Have you ever been to Daytona Beach and tried to find a good restaurant? It’s a challenge.
And, in all fairness, CH does have some vegetable options - oily options but a vegetarian wouldn’t starve.
The Chart House has an interesting menu, especially their seafood dishes, but the preparation doesn't match the potential. The crab/avocado/mango stack contained little crab and it was shredded - not a chunk in sight. The snapper Hemingway, with crab and a lemon shallot sauce (which seemed to be served with most of the fish dishes) was overcooked. My partner's spicy Ahi tuna wasn't properly seared and the center was cold. The creme brulee was okay.
In general, everything was tasty, but not as good as expected, especially for the price.
Although the Chart House can get quite pricey for us "regular" folks, their Early Dining menu (before 6) is a great value, with the excellent salad bar included, and a nice variety of entrees available in the $22 to $26 range, including the terrific Prime Rib, or Salmon, or Chicken, etc. Portions are more than ample. Before dinner, the Happy Hour downstairs is a terrific value, and very nice if you can sit outside. Beer and drinks are in the $4 to $7 range, and appetizers are $4 to $5. Great for sitting down with somebody special or some friends and enjoy the ambiance without spending a fortune.
The food and service are always exceptional. It's a place to go for special treats, connecting with friends and family, and to enjoy the view!
It was just fine
Corey was an excellent server!!
Food outstanding, beautiful view a little pricey but you get what you pay for
Although very expensive, the old adage you get what you pay for really applies here. First, you are greeted by someone that really appreciates your being there. Next, the wait staff cannot do enough to make your visit more enjoyable by prompt service, knowledge of what is available and attention to detail. Further, your meal will not disapoint you for its looks, taste or portion. Finally, when leaving the staff makes you feel they were glad you came. Again, you get what you pay for.
Great food! Great time! Great waiter! We will definitely go back!!
The noise level was very high and it was difficult to talk to my husband sitting next to me. The mashed potatoes and vegetable came out cold and we were told we were not the only ones for this to happen to so they replaced them with more cold food. We ordered the Lava cake that they make up to order and then it was put on a refrigerated plate which made it cold by the time it got to our table. I have eaten here before and was excited for my husband to enjoy the atmosphere and good food and we were very disappointed. Wont be going back there again. The employees seemed mildly distressed by the fact that they could not produce hot food and only bought us our cold dessert.
Wow! This place looks a little dated from the outside but what a view. The restaurant sits on or possibly over the water and is in a curved shape- so views of the water and scenery from and of everywhere. Service was exceptional. Between the two of us we ordered: salad buffet/clam chowder/ house type salad/ filet mignon 7 oz (comes with garlic whipped potatoes)/Lava cake/ Pomegranate mojito. My first steak arrived med well instead of medium but the quickly prepared another and all our food was incredible. They also serve several types of warm rolls which are excellent. I believe we could have cut everything in half and had a very filling meal the next day. However, we ate it all and were uncomfortable for a few hours lol. I highly recommend. The views as the sun is setting are amazing. We arrived at 4:45pm and had the most amazing sunset. Highly recommend this place. Also, the steak with the potatoes was only $34. A steal for a great steak and a side to boot. Loved it!
Our server, Kelly, was delightful - very charming, knowledgable and attentive, yet not bothersome at all! Loved the view and the dolphin show!
We had dinner at Chart House on Friday, January 12th. There were 6 of us celebrating our friend's upcoming wedding, and let me just say the service was wonderful. The hostesses were so nice and hospitable, taking pictures for us without us even having to ask! Our server, Jesse, was amazing and his recommendations and service were stellar. We had the calamari and lobster bisque to start, I had the Baked Crab-Stuffed Shrimp for my entree, and we all had the chocolate lava cake (which was to DIE for!); everything was DELICIOUS. I would recommend Chart House for any occasion, be it lunch, a romantic dinner, or girls night out!
Meal was excellent and unique. Great salad bar with a lot of different items. Took home the macadamia caramel cheesecake and was it ever good. We will return
We have been dining at The Chart House Restaurants through the years and though not what they once were back in the day of the Salad Bar Feast, still a very nice experience. Ahi Tuna was outstanding, hubby had the Snapper and it was good but he also thought my meal was better so he helped me finish it off. Small pour on the wine which is typical for fine dining, the Not So Old Fashioned, very good. Thomas, our waiter was wonderful. The chocolate lava dessert is worth it, loved the decor, view is great...a very enjoyable evening.
I’ve been to Chart Houses from the east to west coasts....Daytona Beach is my favorite. All around a great value.
Excellent quality food and service
Plates were dirty salmon was grossly undercooked asked to take our left overs home and were totally blown off I live very close to the chart house but I won’t be going back hope others have better luck bring your $ terribly over priced
We went here last night for our 4th anniversary and were not disappointed. We mentioned our anniversary and there was a card at our table that was signed by some staff members and our menu was personalized and read Happy Anniversry that they let us keep.
We ordered the coconut shrimp which was so tasty especially with the tasty sauces. The plate looked like an underwater ocean scene. My only criticism would be the number of shrimp. I would have preferred 6 instead of 5 so my husband and I could have an equal number of shrimp.
I ordered the spiced ahi which was by far the best ahi dish I have ever had. The wasabi cream sauce and soy cream sauce complimented the fish perfectly. I usually don’t care for mine too rare but I went with it anyways and I am so glad I did. It was perfect.
My husband ordered the New York strip and it was a phenomenal cut of meat. It was cooked a little more rare than he likes on one side but it still turned out great. The Yukon gold mashed potatoes went very well with the steak.
Thank you for a great anniversary.
We will definitely be back again!
Great Place for New years Eve, lobster bisque to die for
Wonderful way to kick off the new year..simply delightful
Awesome food, atmosphere and view! Perfect place for a special occasion or date night.
We had a fantastic New Years Eve dinner for my wifes birthday. The menu fit every ones taste, the service superb. Thank you
Seating was a bit uncomfortable . At our table we was seated at the waiters/waitress station and was a lot of commotion. There was 3 different people taking our orders . Getting the food right and our deserts right was a nightmare, seems like nobody had a clue who ordered what and then when the bills came out for each couple there was a lot of discrepancies. But still booked again for New Year’s Eve hope our next experience is as good as our first was . This was second New Year’s Eve we have eaten there so hopefully third time is better
The cuisine was exceptional.
The server forgot our appetizer which was severed halfway through our meal.
We waited more than 10-15 minutes for our check after desert and coffee. Server apologized for "keeping us captive" at the table.
We paid for and expected better service for a "fine dining" establishment.
There was a line in the ladies room on the main floor as there was only one stall in the bathroom.
We were seated promptly and the staff was friendly. Our server explained the
special menu and was attentive. The salad bar was very good and had a variety
of lettuce and toppings. Our meals were correctly seasoned and properly
served. It was an enjoyable evening and we will go again.
Celebrating New Year's Eve. Waiter was very good. My husband's prime rib was excellent. The crab stuffed shrimp were poor. The food is very expensive. It would be nice if a side salad was included with the entree. Great place to celebrate a special occasion.
The Overall dining wzperwpwas good but it took over 10 minutes to be waited on and another 5 minutes just to get a glass of water!!! Very annoying!
Never disappointed. Excellent evening every time we go.
