Chart House Restaurant - Daytona Beach
Book your next event with us
Chart house food and service is exceptional. Add In this location has seating outside to sit on the water. Perfect night.
The overall atmosphere of the restaurant was very nice. The food was good just a bit salty, and the kitchen was very noisy with dishes being dropped and banged around. Our waiter was lovely, but we waited awhile in a fairly empty restaurant to be seated at our table. Overall, I would recommend someone to go to this restaurant for a dinner.
Took my husband for his Birthday. We started in the bar with a few drinks and an appetizer, then upstairs for dinner. We sat near the salad bar, near the stairs, which was busy and noisy, people walking up and down the stairs etc, not a great seat choice. The food is consistently good, we ordered off the early menu, very happy with our meal. Service was good, with the exception of our waiter not cleaning/ scraping the crumbs off the table cloth . All in all a great night.
Always an outstanding mean & service. Our favorite restaurant in Daytona Beach.
Feel like we have become friends with our wait staff.
Vacation birthday treat
Had the absolute worst experience after dining at this restaurant now for over 25 years. Yes that long. Normally love it as a go to for any occasion and as I spend weeks of the year in Daytona I frequent regularly.
Anyhow made a reservation giving me ample time 2.5 hours before I would need to leave and collect a colleague at the Airport. This did not work out. Needed to leave during dinner from our table of twelve.
Asked for Tabasco at the start. Did not come until I had finished my first course. Yes I was given a second but that was not the cure. No one came to ask if all was ok with the starters. I was told by the waiter they only check on main courses not the starters. Strange response ? Anyhow we move on. Steaks were overcooked. 2 of them badly. One was sent back and he received his replacement when all had finished their meals.
Bill was around $1000, I added tip of circa $150 as that is still the right thing to do. My family own 3 restaurants. I know the business.
To add insult to injury, one guest asked for a second espresso at the end. The server took the bill back to add a few dollars to a bill I was already begrudgingly paying fully.
It was quite ridiculous. So food quality was down and service way down.
That is it.
Chart house used to be a favorite but has gone downhill somewhat. Given the price for both the entrée and additional $10 for the salad bar the value has decreased. Our service was mediocre, not what we would expect at a high and restaurant.
Snapper special was over cooked. Steak had to be returned not correct temp. Everything else was spot on
I expected to see the manager at the table but was not anywhere to be seen. It was not a very busy evening so no excuse
We love the waterfront dining experience but will think twice before bringing guests again. They were not impressed
Everything was outstanding except for being seated next to kitchen at table one next to the handicap lift
The meal was absolutely perfect from start to finish. Could not have had better service, and the food from salad bar to dessert, was wonderful. Excellent way to celebrate a birthday and anniversary.
The Chart House is one of my favorite restaurants. The salad bar is always fresh with a good variety of vegetables and fruits. If you want a quiet place to enjoy with family and friends, this is it. The entrees are a good portion, but make sure you tell them exactly how you want it cooked. My fish was a bit overcooked after I explicitly asked for "rare". And my husbands prime rib was "rare" when he asked for "medium".
However, Tom our server was great, and I will definitely go back again soon.
Always amazing service and food . Love you can make reservations. The downstairs lounge is great for a meal or just a drink. You have a view of the river and there is outside seating downstairs at the lounge area. Prime rib and stuffed shrimp are our favorites. The salad bar is an option also. We go often.
We I made a reservation for diner on New Years Ever. I called in advance to make sure they offer vegetarian menu and they said yes.
In fact they have one , but on that day they only offered hummus and grilled vegetables, which they charged very expensive price for it.
We ordered drinks for our appetizers but it weren't good.
It was a very busy night, our server looked very tired and annoyed.
Still we had a very good food. I will recommend the restaurant.
We live Chart House and it was the perfect place for New Years Eve. The food, service and atmosphere was lovely.
Outstanding. Filet was cooked to perfection. Prime rib end cut was delicious. Perfect end to the decade. Highly recommend.
Excellent food , nice place to be, we will come back
As usual quality food, great service nice atmosphere
I’ve eaten MANY steaks in my life but the 14 oz NY Strip I ordered was absolutely the most delicious steak I’ve ever eaten! Our service was great, and our meal was timed very nicely and not rushed like most restaurants are. I highly recommend The Chart House. It is ALWAYS consistently great!
Missed giving the Staff my Landry’s Card and they fixed it up over the Phone. Thanks.
Great Seafood and Crafted Drinks! My cucumber martini was the best ever!
Fine dining at its best!
It was my birthday and my name was on the menu!
Excellent Service Food was delicious "lil" pricy on the wine list
Very nice happy hour downstairs and good salad bar on the early dining menu
Had a 5pm reservation....arrived about 4:45
Party 7 adults and 1 baby (6mo)...they did not have a sling or any safety device to put her car seat in
Seat with view of river....very nice Waiter-Tom was nice
Not very crowded at that time....after viewing the menu came time to order were told many of the items were not available as the ingredients to make dish were out of...
We asked before we ordered if the “house dessert” Chocolate Lava Cake was available....was told not at this time
We placed our order....food we did receive was very tasty
Our waiter told us when food arrived that dessert was now available and he would check back before we finished dinner as it takes 30 minutes to prepare....he did not return until later and now it’s not available again...after all plates are cleared and he brought the dessert menu...the Lava Cake was now available....at this point we had already been there a couple of hours and baby was restless and now add at least another 30min wait time. We expressed our great disappointment in this and we were offered to go back to the salad bar Free and get strawberries and whipped cream...a couple of us went up there No strawberries or whipped cream...that too was not available as they had run out
Very disappointing as we had family with us from out of town. I guess either we were wrong for going after a holiday or they were wrong for being open without having a regular menu available.
Went for Christmas and had reservations for 8:15. Didn’t get a table until after 9pm and they were out of pretty much everything on the menu, even the lava cake. Not the waitress’ fault, but the manager or someone should have at least made an effort to make things right. In the Christmas spirit, we understand there are worse things to complain about, but overall, it was a horrible experience.
This was Christmas dinner with our family on Christmas Day. We had a reservation 2 weeks ahead of time at 8pm. When we arrived we were told it would be a 30 minute wait. We sat down at 8:45. Our server was very good and apologetic. We ordered 4 prime ribs and a stuffed shrimp. 20 minutes later the server came back to tell us they were out of prime rib! So we looked through the menu and ordered replacement entrees. We were enjoying drinks and our salads from the salad bar and then prime rib came out! They said they found some? Very strange. Then all of the other meals come out! Some of us ate the prime rib and others ate the replacement entree. The bill had all of the meals on it so it had to be corrected. The food was good but lukewarm. We have dined here a few times and never had any issues. Maybe it was due to the holiday.
Christmas Day - evening. Everything was running behind, unfortunately 45 minutes to an hour behind. No special seating was made available in the waiting area. Bartenders downstairs viewed us as an inconvenience, even though I order drinks and tipped generously. Wasn't a bad experience, but the restaurant has done this before. A better effort could have been made.
We went on Christmas Day. We made reservations at 6:30 pm, we got sat at 6:40 and finally got served at 8:30 pm. The story was that the kitchen was really backed up and they were serving 900 people all at once. I assume they planned it that way? It was a nice place and the food was good, but it took way too long to be served to enjoy.
Gio, server, was great considering circumstance. 6:00 reservation, seated at 6:40. Order taken by 7. Food served at 8. Left at 8:45. Out of several food options. Very disappointing for Christmas dinner.
My wife and I went on Christmas day with a confirmed reservation. We showed up ten minutes prior to our reservation time, and not only did we wait for about 40 minutes for our table, but we sat at our table for nearly 2 hours after ordering entrees and didn't get our food. The waiter, who was nice, was stressed, and told us if we waited, it would be at least another 30 minutes. We settled up and left.
It was very good despite being Christmas Day.
The staff from entry to exit was very cordial, funny & although extremely busy & somewhat overwhelmed were as attentive as time allowed. Seth did a great job & overall we enjoyed our dining experience & will come back on a less busy day.
Was very disappointed in the Chart House. Maybe it was because it was Christmas day. Our server was excellent and he did the best he could. They were out of many food items and we waited one and a half hours for our entree. It will be a while before I return to the Chart House.
To be totally fair, it was Christmas and they appeared overwhelmed, our reservation was for 4:45 and we waited until 5:15 to be sat. Once we sat, we ordered our food, which finally arrived at 7:00. The ambience, the service from our server was great, however the food arrived at room temperature and looked very dry. I am sure it sat in the kitchen for a considerable amount of time before it was brought out. The manager was nice enough but after 2.5 hours we were kind of over it. They refunded our food purchase, we still payed for our drinks and we left and found another restaurant.
It was a busy Christmas Day. We were a party of nine and had a 4:15 reservation, which we arrived promptly for. We were told they were just setting the table. We waited just under 30 minutes to be seated. Unacceptable at that hour. I pitied the people with 6:00 reservations. Bread eventually arrived and was hot. Soup arrived after a very long wait and was barely warm. We were never offered more bread, which might’ve helped pass the time and console us, given the long wait. Entrees arrived at 6:05 and weren’t hot either. Grilled grouper, tuna(properlycooked rare), and other fish were all very good. Both grilled chicken and the breaded chicken were relatively tasteless. I told the waitress I couldn’t eat the vegetables with peppers and she substituted green beans. Not sure why she’d think I could eat the rice with peppers, other than the fact that she was overwhelmed and wasn’t thinking. After over 2.5 hours, we couldn’t imagine sitting longer for dessert., so we didn’t have any, though we planned to have dessert and coffee. Previously, I’ve had the molten chocolate cake, which was way too sweet and I’d never order again. It requires a 30 minute advance order, so I suppose it would have come out before the soup!! They definitely took more reservations than they should have and either need to reassess staffing or reduce the number accepted. I can’t recommend going on a holiday, though I’d try it on a slower day.
We have been going to CH for Christmas for the last 7 years. I was really looking forward to the meal. This restaurant has always been inconsistent with food and service. This visit the food was just ok, but the service was terrible. We had to ask for bread from the start. The entree took 1 hr and 20 min to arrive. The entree is not delivered to the table by the server, so that person had no idea our server forgot a side I ordered with my meal. He left before I could say anything. Our server (Sarah) didn't show up until we were almost finished. Had to ask her to remove the side from the check (She did not offer) She did not offer a refill on my tea. The real kicker is when she returned with the credit card and AARP card to say they don't take AARP. In my opinion this place does not justify the cost. The food quality, waiting time and service was less than basic and not even close to what it should have been for this kind of upscale dinning. It has served the purpose in the past as not many choices available on Christmas Day, but we will not be returning.
Lovely ambiance. Swordfish perfectly grilled. Waitress very professional and accommodating.
Sitting downstairs be careful! The “upper deck” customer “dropped” their salt shaker and almost hit my husband on the head.
