   I had forgotten how logically this restaurant was designed. A view of the ocean from every table. Huge wine list, strong drinks, delicious and fresh seafood, tender steaks and church quiet in spite of being full of diners. Our server was excellent and the valet parking was perfect. Thanks for the great night, Chart House, we will be back soon.

   Everything was really delicious, service was friendly and on it. Ambiance was also very nice, not too noisy and beautiful views.

   I had requested a window table. We were not seated by the window. I had reserved a table for 7, and there were 8 chairs and place settings for 7. The restaurant looked very gray and depressing - nothing to make the table festive - no candle or flowers . Our server was unfriendly, and he had a difficult time understanding my answers to his questions, so wine glasses got put in the wrong place, and he often seemed confused. While I felt a bit sorry for him, his challenges made it uncomfortable for our birthday party. Fortunately the food was good, but I am concerned that the Chart House is having financial difficulties and cannot afford to decorate the tables nor hire competent and friendly servers.

   We sat for about 20 minutes or more without water or acknowledgement. Service was poor the whole evening.

   The chart house has always been great. The best part is the view of the ocean and the ambience. The service was just OK. Some things took a little bit of attention required to get the server. The food was very good with the exception of my dinner had swordfish, which was excellent, but the vegetables were cool and not hot but overall we had a great time

   Chaison has an excellent personality! We are definely coming back to dine here again soon! Our daughter had a fabulous birthday celebratiion! Thanks Chaison for giving my family a great experience!

   We have been here several times. Very calm relaxing atmosphere. Very good food and courteous friendly service. Highly recommended. Be sure and go for sunset.

   I write reviews when the experience was very good as well as not so good. This one goes into the not so good category. We dine here about once a month. We were offered the “opportunity” to sit upstairs since a table was already available. We were the third of three tables that were seated at the same time and in the same section with one server who was also working the bar. A recipe for problems — not his fault; management blew this one. We ordered an appetizer (Coconut Crunchy Shrimp) that appeared within fewer than five minutes of ordering. Clearly this was something that was sitting under a heat lamp for a while (since it took about 15 minutes for us to receive a salad), and it tasted like that — lukewarm at best and pretty dry. Fortunately, management removed that from the bill, but I would have preferred to pay for it and have gotten an enjoyable appetizer. The server poured my wife her water when he took our appetizer order, but ran out of water. He didn’t get back to give me water until after we finished the dry appetizer. Overall, it was a terrible start to a mediocre evening.. We ordered the Chopped salad with pepperoncini and cannelloni beans on the side. Two pieces of pepperoncini on the salad and no beans on or on the side. Clearly, haste in the preparation process. My wife ordered the Dock to Dine Mahi simply grilled — it was good, and I ordered the spicy ahi, which was very good. The entrees salvaged what otherwise would have been a terrible experience and turned it into a mediocre experience. With so many phenomenal choices in the Del Mar/Solana Beach/Cardiff/Encinitas area, Chart House needs to get its act together or they’ll lose us as regular customers!

   Lovely table but unfortunately had children one table over that had noisy toys at the table. Dinner was great and service was great.
