For some reason they offered several special fixed priced meal combos tonite that were excellent and very good value. Was very crowded even tho no sunset. Only complaint was a continuing its slow bar drink service. There are always delays and its too bad. They could serve more drinks if they were faster.

Service and food was fabulous! Taryn was terrific and served us in an efficient and friendly manner. Perfectly attentative and pleasant. Window seat was lovely with a storm approaching. Beautiful venue and great food! Caesar salad with grilled shrimp was perfectly dressed and VERY tasty. Brava!!!!

The waiter Jose was excellent. The food tasted really good. The swordfish and prime rib Unobstructed ocean view. Our only complaints are. 1. I heard from the group that the men’s bathroom was messy. 2. The ice cubes in the drinks should be big.

The servers were very friendly but seemed to be in training. Took 20 minutes to get our first drinks and bread. Over 25 minutes before they took our entree order for lunch. Was fairly quiet and they were probably overstaffed as you could see people talking in various corners like side of bar or work stations on floor. They need to be more focused on the customer experience and making sure that the team is responsive to requests.

I hadn’t been to The chart House is a long time. I was very surprised and disappointed at how limited their Sunday menu was. The food was good, not great. The ocean view was spectacular. Really the view is the only reason to go there.

Quite the enjoyable experience tonight at the Chart House! Went there for a very special occasion. Had window seating with a spectacular ire of the sunset. My wife went with the lemon salmon, and I went with the Callahan prime rib. They were both delicious and we left with leftovers for a second and possibly a third meal for each of us. Our first meal here was 31 years ago and we’ll keep coming back again and again.

445 reservation didn’t get seated till after 5 o’clock. Didn’t get served until much later than that. Prime rib was fantastic but the salmon was not so good. I asked for it to be prepared, medium rare. I specifically said I do not like it dried out. It came out very dried out and I it seemed as though the server was not thrilled about it. They did take it off the bill which they should have since I returned it uneaten The view was beautiful.

This is an very old restaurant right on the beach. It needs a lot of repair and modernization. Parking is horrible. The chips and artichoke dip appetizer was a let down. The chips were very old and dripping oil. The main course was about average quality. The service was very nice.

Arrived at sunset (5:30 pm) the restaurant has a spectacular view right on Cardiff beach. Try to reserve a seat by the window but if you can’t, every table has a view. We could see the dolphins playing in the waves while we sat at our table watching the sunset. My meal was the crab stuffed shrimp entree with garlic mashed potatoes, it was one of the best shrimp dishes I’ve ever had. I also ordered the wedge salad and it was odd because they served it with an Italian dressing rather than a blue cheese dressing. My stepmom had a swordfish and she thought it was great. The Chart House is a classic local restaurant with consistently good food, incredible view. Recommend.

We always always loved this Chart House. However last night they seemed to be understaffed. Our waiter was good but overloaded. (No busboys to clear dirty dishes before the next course.) Perhaps an off night. We will be back

We lunched today at The Chart House in Cardiff. We have dined here many times for lunch or dinner. We have taken visitors here because we.knew that the ambiance and the meal would be exceptional. Today we had the pleasure of meeting Chef Gerardo Nava. He is a talented chef, no doubt. We have never had a bad experience here. Today we tried the Kim Chee calamari and for dessert, the fig and brown sugar ice cream ( house made of course ! ). Both were delightful. The flavor combinations were unique and delicious. Chef Nava is well respected by the staff, who speak highly of his management style and team spirit. No task seems beneath him. He even removed our finished plates from the table while he was there ! All in all, a most pleasant visit. We will be back again soon

Had 6:00 PM reservation. Had to wait 20 minutes after 6 for table. When seated, got table with pole in the way to sit by my wife. We were celebrating our 26th wedding anniversary, and were really disappointed. We ordered drinks, and the waitress came to the table twice to apologize for the wait. She told us that the bartender was having issues. Not my problem. The hostesses at the counter were totally clueless also. Kept telling us we were next, but two other guests were seated before us. Food was pretty good. Had been looking forward to this dinner for awhile, as we had been here before and had a great experience. Really disappointed, and will never return. Drove from La Mesa, and not worth it at all.

I’m not sure what the point of making a reservation is if you have to wait 20 minutes anyways. I think they needed better organization. Food was very good, but small portions for the price like all fine dining. Would go again.

Overall it was great as usual, we have eaten here many times over the years. Though there were a few things that could have stepped up the evening. It was a birthday dinner and I had mentioned that in the notes on Open Table but it was never acknowledged at the restaurant. I had asked for a booth with a nice view of the ocean and that request was filled, however the windows were so filthy it was difficult to enjoy the view until the sun went down, fortunately we were there long enough for the sunset which was absolutely gorgeous.
