Amazing culinary experience engaging a synergy of amazing flavor in every dish. Staff was helpful and attentive and owner/chef Matt was a gracious host. I will be back!!
The food was amazing, the small bites were fantastic. Happy Hour gives you the opportunity to sample a lot of the favorites at an affordable price. , my husband and I would love to come back and try the ramen.
We went here before a show at Delancey right around the corner. The restaurant has a great vibe and the food was delicious! We shared the Brussels sprouts, shishito peppers, roast duck steamed buns, char siu, and Vietnamese lettuce wraps. The wraps were okay, a bit difficult to eat without a fork and knife and very little sausage. The char siu was delicious and melt in your mouth. Not the traditional preparation but it was refreshing to try in a different variation (some kind of sesame aioli sauce with avocado and fresh herbs on top)! The veggie dishes were incredible, especially the sprouts which were mixed with chilis and peanuts. I think the buns were our favorite, perfectly soft buns, rich well cooked duck and nice crunchy toppings of greens and fried onions. Would definitely recommend and will be going back to try other dishes!
La comida es excelente y el lugar muy acogedor aunque, si el ruido les molesta, esta no es su opción. El arroz con pato, el pork belly y los brocolinis estuvieron deliciosos. Mención especial al helado de plátano.
Our culinary adventure was filled with amazing flavors that resided in our stomach and mind. Beyond cosmic flavors the dishes were beautifully presented and our server was as delightful as the food.
We had the char sue (duck), crispy brussle sprouts, pork tacos and pork belly. I had a very nice glass of Montepulciano Chianti. It is now on our go to list.
Service sucked. Also Brought our entree out before literally everything else. Screwed up our meal.
It's just really really good ... the food, the drinks, the service, the ambiance ... it's just really really good. Everything on the menu is pretty much a "must try." The imaginative combination of ingredients and cuisines results in such original creative flavors that at times you wonder why you didn't think of it or come across it much sooner. Foodies beware ... you will get addicted.
Very tasty inventive dishes in a casual but fun environment. Duck bao is a must.
The food is always delicious and I am sad that this place doesn't get more customers (though it's nice that its not noisy and I can always get a table). I think ambiance is a big reason the restaurant isn't packed. The food is sophisticated and so is the neighborhood, but the music and decor are not. Also, Matt, the owner, is very nice but a bit shy, so it may be a bit of a challenge for him to promote the place. I urge everyone to try it!
Good fun food and drink. Friendly waitress.Choices for carnivores and vegans. We were there early and it was fairly empty and quiet. By the time we left, it was starting to fill up and the noise level intensified. Good place for small bites and great food to go with drinks. Lettuce wrap (vegan), duck wings and rice bowl were excellent and so was the steamed bun.
Delicious and reasonably priced. Short Rib bun was the greatest!! Lettuce wraps great. Pork Taco great. Peppery beef taco, duck bun, very good. Duck wings good.
This restaurant has extremely flavorful food and well presented at an amazing price. Not fancy somewhat funky great value. The shrimp ceviche 10 $ delicious! And the crunchy Brussels sprouts wow
Some of the most creative modern pan-Asian I've had. Came here on a whim but I think I'll be planning many visits in the future. Get anything with the short ribs. Probably in my top 5 Asian restaurants in the US; and the other 4 are all in California.
family style eating
Great food and cool atmosphere.
Loved, loved loved the food, drinks and service. We will be back!!!
Fantastic food. We ordered 7-8 dishes and they were all fantastic. Recommend the duck buns and the shishito peppers particularly.
We tried a bunch of dishes and all of them were amazing.
Soooooo tasty. Great service
Amazing restaurant! The food is delicious and the service very attentive. They gave a terrific happy hour! It was my husband’s birthday and he loved the attention. Can’t wait to go back!
Went to Char Sue during happy hour. Got the pork taco and pooty fries with house wine for $23 plus tip and felt like that was enough food for dinner. However, my friend got the duck rice bowl and it was mostly rice and cost the same amount as my entire meal. Overall, the food was okay, but the portions were very small.
Thought the food was great at this casual place on the LES. The Cha Siu pork was amazing. Steamed buns were light and fluffy. Brussels sprouts were so good we ordered a second plate!
Great experience! I would come back here for any special occasion.
Great food and chill place to be at, we had a great time
Had dinner at Char Sue for my husband's birthday over the weekend. We went with friends and ordered a lot of things to share--a few kinds of buns, lettuce wraps, tacos, monkey bread, chicken mapo, the duck, the veggies. Everything (!) was really delicious and thoughtfully prepared. This place is so great and I would totally go back and bring out of town guests.
Food was very good. We got there at 9 pm, so sadly they were out of duck.
What a find. Super delicious food, reasonable prices, wonderful service. Will be back soon.
Food was excellent!! We’d recommend the steamed buns 😋
Met a friend for dinner here and it was awesome. Def try the lettuce wraps and duck wings. The Pho/ Ramen was fantastic.
Can’t expect less from chef Matt
Everything was great
