    Arrived a bit early but very pleasant hostess seated us immediately. Our server greeted us without a smile and not tell us her name. We ordered wine which was very good. After a bit we both ordered the ribeye with salads and side of onion rings. About 15 minutes later the salads were served and before either us had more than a couple of bites, the steaks and onion rings came out. We refused them because we were just getting started with the salads. What restaurant does that? Once we finished the salads, the steaks and rings were served. Both of us ordered ribeyes medium rare. They were cooked medium and I did wonder if they were sitting under a warming lamp until the we finished salads? The kicker was the steaks were a little tough and had very little flavor. My guess is the cut was a lower grade choice at best. I could not eat the rings because they were too salty. My father ate a few. So the bright spots of this meal were the very pleasant hostess, the wine and my wedge salad which was the best I’ve had. It had been a few years since we ate at Char, but back in the day they were a first class restaurant with delicious steaks and sides etc. My father and I were celebrating Fathers Day and we enjoyed each other’s company but the meal, not so much.

    It was a great time, great experience. The atmosphere was nice. The only think that I could complain about was that the server looked a little stressed but I can’t blame her. She did a great job regardless. Afterwards me and my girlfriend talked about rating it, she said it was a 10/10 for her and I’d say it was a 9/10 for me. It’s only a 9/10 because it took a little bit long to get served but nothing unreasonable. It was great regardless!

    I and my family enjoy our dinningat char. It was my mother's seventh birthday and also we just found out she was diagnosed with breast cancer. I was blessed to have a wonderful experience with her on that day even though we receive bad news on that day my mom still enjoyed herself and had a smile on her face. Thank you so much for the experience The hospitality and the warm welcome that you gave my family.

    Service is always exceptional. Desserts are exceptional. I had the salmon (Thursday lunch special) with braised cabbage. The cabbage didn’t have any taste to it. The pieces of the cabbage were the hard part of the core and floating in water. The salmon was perfect and tasty. My husband has the roast beef & it was delicious. We love Char. Today’s veggie choice of cabbage was not a good idea. However, everything else far outweighs one tiny dish of cabbage. I wish it weren’t quite so pricey for lunch, but the service, and good food make up for it.
