   Our first time at Chaplin. Had Easter brunch and all our meals were excellent as was the service. We will definitely be back!

   We had a great evening at Chaplin. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable of both the cocktail and food menu and was able to make great recommendations which did not disappoint. His service was top notch. The cocktails were very well made and the food was delicious. We started with the calamari whi h was crispy and well seasoned. My husband had the burger and I had the monkfish. I love that their espresso martini comes with Bailey’s just the way I like it! The atmosphere was great: vibrant without being too loud.

   This visit was very disappointing. After we were seated 15-20 min passed before we had to flag down bus girl for water and drinks. In our reservation I asked to not be rushed but that we had a show in New Haven at 8. Our appetizer was great. We ordered our dinner a good 45 min before be needed to be done. We ordered a burger and the duck medium rare. Our server came back 3 times to tell us our food was being plated and that it was taking longer to make sure the duck was cooked safely. First of all all experienced chefs cook duck breast medium rare. That should not be a problem. We watched table after table be served before us even though they arrived much later than we did. Secondly we were told 3 times our food was being plated obviously not true. The food was very tasty but by the time it came we had to ask for our bill immediately and wolf down our food. We ended up being quite late for our concert. This was not a good showing for a restaurant that is pricey and highly rated.

   We thoroughly enjoyed our return to an old favorite. Great food and vibe, excellent staff—a terrific Friday night experience!

   First time visiting, the cocktails were excellent. The clam chowder special was very good, and my husband loved the pork belly Mac and cheese . We will definitely be back.

   Great service . David was great! The sautéed shrimp was amazing 10/10 recommend.

   We have dined here several times and have never had a bad experience , food is consistently five star from the charred octopus to burgers . Great wine selection and an excellent martini.Wait staff is attentive and friendly , ambiance hits the mark for a romantic date night or happy hour with friends.

    We go every Friday the food and service is great and Amanda is a great bartender
