Great food and great service!
Nice greeting and accommodation with a larger table when I asked. Server was excellent but whole process was slow. Prob understaffed. Food was great, with flavors and textures we loved. Presentation was also very nice. Music was nice but a bit loud—did not ask them to lower it so it was not extreme. Lighting was variable from table to table, so check if it natters to you😎.
We had Lechón Cubano and a romaine lettuce with grilled shrimps. Both dishes were great. Friendly and pleasant staff. We loved the decors, quite artistic. Will return.
Excelente sabor de comida latinoamericana auténtica profundo conocimiento del sentir música acorde al lugar espacioso múrales y decoración espectacular el sabor de el sancocho y de los tostones son auténticos éxitos y recomendado
The drinks, as well as the food, delicious!
Very cute place - awesome decor. We went for lunch on Friday and there weren’t a lot of people inside so it was quiet. The staff were great - friendly and helpful. The food was so good and also was prepared rather quickly so we didn’t have to wait long and enjoyed a filling, delicious meal! I will be back, and I highly recommend Chao Pescao to anyone visiting the area!
The gluten-free empanadas alone are worth going to Chao Pescao - DELICIOUS! The yuca frite were perfectly crispy and the pork in the Cochinita salad was tender and juicy. The Bistec de Palomilla, including meat, rice, beans and plantains was plentiful and tasty. We liked both of our drinks from the fun cocktail menu. Above all, the friendliness of everyone in the restaurant and especially our server made our dining experience perfect.
Everyone was amazing and the food was incredible. I’ve already told 3 people to go.
We enjoyed our server, Rose. Admittedly, she is not a wine-drinker and therefore wasn't able to comment much on the "wine by the glass" options, but she was interested in our experience trying 3 different reds by the glass (merit was the best), and she often checked in to see how we were doing. One dish we ordered (vegetarian empanada) hadn't arrived & we'd already nearly finished everything else we'd ordered, so, being unsure if the kitchen was behind or if the item was lost... we said we were full anyway & didn't need that order (and we really were full). We like the location & will return!
Our first time dining at this place and we were utterly impressed! Food was authentic and flavorful. Service was fun and friendly. Cocktail and wine selection was solid. The owner came out and said hello to us. The entire dining experience was beyond satisfying. Will definitely come back here again.
I recently moved to the area. It’s a block away from where I live. I decided to check it out. I was looking for Hispanic food and got exactly what I was looking for. The staff is friendly and the food is great. It’ll now be my new chill spot to eat and drink since it’s walking distance and so close. 🤗😌
The food selection was varied and interesting. I just couldn't give them 5 stars because of a big serving error--we got large soups, not small and never got the entrees we ordered. That turned out to be just as well; the soups were fantastic and, since they were the large servings, we didn't need our entrees. The bread rolls were excellent. We were there early and it was wonderfully quiet. Our Server (formerly at Jardinière) did a good job; we think the error was someone trying to help. She comped our desserts due to the ordering error--I would like to use that to give them the 5th star.
Excellent food and great service. Would definitely go back to try other items on their menu.
South American cuisines are hard to come by in the Bay Area and especially good ones. We tried quite a few different items and shared everything: empanadas, arepas, cubano, sancocho, arroz con leche, coffee. We agreed we would definitely come back and would order everything again. My preference would be to have the cubano or arepa for lunch. I've had so many types of empanadas and these were by far the best. The masa was perfect. This is the first time having sancocho and was my favorite. I love big bowl of soups and some of my favorites are Mexican soups: pozole, cocido, and albondigas. Well, sancocho is definitely on my list of favorites. My boyfriend who is Colombian was very pleased with the dishes and the sancocho reminded him of home. This is definitely a great place for a date night or with a group. There's a bar in the restaurant with plenty of seating or side tables. There was great music playing as well. The location was perfect across from the city hall and a parking garage across the street. What are you waiting for...go try it!!
Wow! Fabulous food, this place is special. The yuca Frita are better than regular fries. We will be back.
Employees were amazing! Very attentive and welcoming. The chef even came out to greet us and it was a great experience overall. I have so much respect for these people and their culture. The food speaks culture, their decors as well. I live for culture. This place is a high recommendation if you want latin food experience or just for the heck of trying new things.
